    did you do a control test? you can prop almost anything in straight soil ,even bad soil. Not every single cutting is going to make it.

    If you are keep pulling the plant out of soil every week then how can you expect roots to develop?

    Isn't it weird how us plant people can't stop buying plants? I got interested in collecting plant in 2023 and I always buy baby plants for under $10. Now they are getting bigger and I am trying to figure out where to place them but I still keep ordering more! 😐

    Take a hand towel and wrap it into thirds unfold place ice in the middle. Fold it back into thirds and put a rubber band on each end or tuck into your shirt either way.

    Love the video! Just one problem - not enough videos from you 😅 looking forward to seeing the updates on these plants later on and how they grow over summer. Really love seeing the comparisons of then vs now, with photos/videos, and these seem to be going strong for that🤩 Also, about the corms, on the top of the surface, it's really interesting. Let us know if they grow like this 🤩🤩🤩 Corm prop: Found that the only fool-proof way to grow alocasia corms is in little water. There is a good video comparing all methods of growing corms, maybe the channel's name is "good growing" or similar, the girl is from Britain, and I've tried water and perlite this spring. Then, had to transfer all of the corms to water for them to awaken. And only after they root - I could continue them in perlite. Now I have one leaf already out and three more leaves grawing. Very exciting!☀️

    Nice plants !! Just saying , rule of thumb is not to touch new leaves with your hands. The oil from your fingers can damage the leaf. Anyhow, like watching your videos :)

    I enjoyed this video. One thing I keep hearing a lot is "died of root rot" it sounds like you are an over waterer. Do you have a moisture meter? that can help you tremendously!! And if you find a plant has too much water in it, try folding up a bunch (and I mean a BIG bunch) of paper towels under the pot and push it firmly into it. The paper towels will wick extra water out of the pot. You may have to do this a few times. I used almost a full roll of paper towels on 2 plants I recently bought at a big box store that were totally water logged. But a moisture meter is a MUST have, honestly. Plants don't drink by the calender, they need water when the soil is dry. Over watering is more about the frequency of water you give it, not necessarily how much. That took me a while to understand. Only give water when the soil is dry. Plants will recover from under watering, but they may not recover if the roots can't breath and rot from over watering. So err on the side of under watering. I always say, when in doubt, wait! They won't die if they are held up from water for another few days or a week. I love all your plants and they look beautiful! And I love the one plant in a wine glass!!! That is really cute!

    • @jayelodell
      @jayelodell 5 місяців тому

      Yeah, over watering was a big issue, especially since it was my first winter with so much of these plants. It was definitely a learning experience and I feel I'm better equipped (at least i hope) for the next winter hehe

    A few things, I find the neon pothos grows faster than the others. I have it next to a south facing window. My siltepecana I had it as a 1 leaf cutting in a prop box, it's still in the box with 4 extra leaves - I've had it for over a year. The adansonii does not like to be near a sunny window. The leaves will burn. It is also a heavy feeder. Good luck.
