The Rane Performer has come out and has motorized platters. Some people love them, some don't need or want them, so is the Rane Four the best non-motorized platter Serato controller?

Does someone know how many midi I/O channels you get in ableton when plugging the Rane 4 in over USB? I m looking to multi track record so 12 out channels like on external rane mixers is needed. This information is never mentioned for controllers!!! Thx for all the info allready given!

I've seen horror stories too and it does scare me a little. So far, mine has been perfect (knock on wood)

good review. not that long. precise. I would agree. I would prefer the Rane four over the Performer. Same as you (wedding DJ), lugging a heavy controller isn't advisable for the long haul and long run. I still have my FLX10 though. I love both of these controllers. they have their own strengths respectively.
I can respect that. I'm a one-man operation and decided to put all of my eggs in the Rane Four "basket" ... FLX10 certainly is not a bad controller. I wish Rekordbox stems would improve. They're the weakest out there.

Sound quality is comparable with the REV5 and FLX10 ... I've never used the REV7 ... I'm trying out the Rane Four today. That may become my new controller of choice, we'll see

Interesting that you didn't EVER make mention of the fader. The Rev5 has the Magvel fader. HUGE DIFFERENCE if you scratch and cut!
I don't scratch, so not a factor for me personally
FLX10 has a Magvel fader as well.

try putting a glow in the dark sticker on the top of the encoder knobs.. I wonder if tha twould work as it would make them pop more in the dark then.

yes
Would a mixer still be useful for the FLX 10?
This is up to the individual. I find the mic pre-amps good enough in these newer controllers to where I don't use a separate mixer.
U forgot to mention How much stem functionality the rev5 has which is way more playful than on flx10, just sayin😅

Flx10 for me - VDJ user and this controller just fits right in.
I would like to see how you set it up! Thank you looks good & clean I have the evox 12 RCF as well love them easy setup clean and handle in everything gig I been and in massive halls.
They will also work with VDJ as well.

Kind of... I'm thinking me in back and Wave Eight at side/front ... if that makes sense. Angled to cover the guests and so I can hear it too... angled enough away from the Officiant so that they're not in the sound field (avoid feedback) :)

How do you feel for a Wedding DJ controller? Feel like the FLX-10 offers anything that you are missing with the Rev5? IE: How are you handling cocktail music (continuous play) with the Rev5?

How is the controller "unnecessary"? That comment makes no sense. The Omnis-Duo is a better option than the Prime Go (in my opinion) for a battery-powered music player and it has Mic EQ, which is a major plus for wedding ceremonies.

Mike I loved my Sennheiser mics for ceremonies but my white Everse would not power them. So i bought the EV mics which are not as powerful as the Sennheiser. What cable did you get to power it? Ben and Danny Stowe at NLFX Rocks
