I post videos on repairing outdoor power equipment, my story begins dating back to 1999 where i picked up on this hobby as a child i was always fascinated with anything mechanical, and instead of paying attention in school , i was reading repair manuals and instead of doing homework I was out in the garage with my parents working on small engines, fast forward 24 years and counting I now own my very own outdoor equipment shop where i get to live my childhood dream every day of the week (well almost) now my shop get's busy and i seldom have time to setup a camera and record videos, but when i have the chance i will do so :)
Take care and i hope you can learn something from my videos :)

Quick Fix on a 20in MTD Push Mower That Made a Noise
This push mower has to be one of the most popular model's as it is the most inexpensive, this customer brought this mower to me for a no start and making a noise, what i found was a very quick fix.

ABOUT ME - I am Mike, 28 and have spent my entire life dedicated to all things Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE for short) , i began this lifelong journey when i was only 3 years old, i found OPE facinating, comforting and extremely fun. I legit grew up in a greasy garage working on lawn mowers :) i spent 21 years working out of a garage (with no heat or air conditioning, just a big ole' fan) next to my house (my childhood home in the city and now current home somewhat out in the sticks ) and turned my lifelong hobby into a legit business in July of 2016 - it has always been my biggest dream to own an OPE sales & service center at a commercial location - that came true in August of 2020 when i bought my 1,800 sq.ft heated & cooled dream shop situated on 1 acre of industrial/commercial multi-use land. It has been a wild ride and continues to be as i am one of the only and VERY reputable shop's in my area. I have been #1 recommended for 4 years straight. It is enjoyable at times and miserable at times running your own OPE sales & service center - but i love it regardless :) I am certified by all four major small engine manufactuers and i am an Authorized Servicing Dealer and Authorized Service Center for MANY different brands. I may not put out many videos and there will be times where i don't upload for months on end - hey i'm busy - as long as the grass is green and the sun is hot - there's a broken lawn mower headed my way. I hope you, the viewer can find great joy and entertainment from my videos and you might just learn a thing or two :)

Troy Bilt Pony 42" Rider | Pre 2010 Models | Replacing The Deck Belt
My washer pushcap keeps falling off. Any tips besides drilling the rod?
RepairClinic did a video on this repair showing a faster and simpler disassembly. It’s not entirely necessary to remove the shaft, carburetor, or disconnect wires at the connector behind the carb.
Yeah but how did you get the cotter pin/washer off in the first place?
'YOUR NEW DECK MAY COME ASSEMBLED OR MAYBE NOT...' It all has to do with the attitude of the employee who gets your order. Monday or Friday? Oh, Hell, No. Tu-We or Th, well, maybe unless the guys got a poker game going on in the back. !
How do you adjust the tension on the belt? Where the cable attaches to the deck is not adjustable.
Im getting a rotax 503 cc from a skidoo and i didnt kniw do i really need a fuel pump if my gas tank is higher than the engine
thanks. just what I needed. I'd already put on a new blade belt just in case, and changed the blade clutch cable (3 times!. warning don't buy chinese "compatible" part for the blade clutch cable - the spring is too thick, and shreds the cable casing when engaging the blade. husqvarna one works fine, even if it is more expensive). my right-angle adjustment piece was in the loosest setting possible. moving it back to mid point and now working mower.
Thanks for the teardown. Ive never repaired a weed eater before. However when my 1 yr old trimmer died i figured it was the spark plug, then the spring got stuck so i had to replace the whole coil. Luckily i stumbled on this vid.
It worked just like you said. Thanks
Is there suppose to be a gasket between the intake tube and the engine?
You didnt put it on the mower
When setting at 10,000th make sure your are measuring between the magnet portion!!! Sheesh!
You can get those center jets 4 for $10.00. I'd go that route. It's quicker.
Of course you'll destroy the dust cover if you harpoon it with needle nose pliers.
i got one today and it looks like yours / great stuff
Where's the oil pump. Even with the spark plug out I can barely turn the fly wheel. It's sound like metal in metal. Suspect oil getting inside to lube.
i'd be interested in your rationale for 1: re-using the original smaller outside diameter top-end washer instead of the newly supplied larger one and 2: how do you decide between replacing the entire three-legged mandrel assembly vs just dropping the spindle shaft assembly out and replacing just that? i've been unable to remove the lower bearing off the shaft so i've had to replace the entire spindle when i only had the the bearings starting to go - everything else was still in working order. any thoughts much appreciated. i like to know why we do things in mechanical repairs not just how we do them. probably a placebo effect - but i think my repairs are better that way.
What oil would you recommend for that type of motor? I have a 2010 lawn tractor and I used 5w30 synthetic and it's burning oil, I was wondering if I should use thicker oil. Thanks.
5w30 is too thin, in a Briggs if temps are above 40F outside ambient, use only 30W and nothing else but straight 30W small engine oil.
What is the fuel mixture for this model of blower?
That’s a very scary voice😳 yikes
How rare is this mower with Honda engine. 10:01 6-13-24
Between the air box and carb is a gasket that will prime as long as the primer hole is sealed. It can be leaking or even missing elsewhere but it has to be sealed at the primer orifice for the primer to work. Obviously you don’t want unfiltered air but even if there was unfiltered air it will still run. Take the air box off and it still runs!
Hello, do you have elektrical schematic please?
Thank you!
Great video for a guy like me who loves to cut his grass but has problems with stuff like this I appreciate you really breaking it down and make it easy to understand
nice video please talk louder..no reason to whisper
Thanks from Kelowna ,,,,great close up .. Runs great again
How long does it take to dry??
2hrs to setup and 24hrs to fully cure.
Greetings, Do you know what size belt was used for this mower deck? Thank you for any input!
This is how to get a wheel off... not a tire.
Anyone now which oil and how much oil I need to put in it?
You solved the mystery to my limited understanding THANK YOU
Hi, do you have the parts number for the 2 springs on the carburetor.
Should of shown the LT 2000 video AS ADVERTISED/CRAFTSMAN NOT MTD
Craftsman is still and always was and will be just a name, They use to be made by Husqvarna and MTD, now since late 2018, 100% by MTD.
This was a huge help thank you!
👍
If my compression release is not broken, will worn lobes on cam cause me to have to adjust the valves every time before mowing.
yes, or a worn head/valve guides. both valves i usually set to 4 thousandths (.004)
Very helpful video! I am about to change both tires tomorrow on the same mower.
Hi , best practice to clean spindle shaft of debris , I find brake cleaner pretty good , and light application of grease to shaft and inside bush , before assembly , a block of wood on face of bearing when refitting will prevent it becoming damaged/ deformed
1:07 how did you do that? There is no gap on mine. Can't figure how to untighten it.
Honda engines are great. Is that 16.5 hp Honda a GXV-530? And does anyone have a part number for an air filter on it? Thank you !
Thanks ,, I was wondering how that spring went. Appreciated.
One thing I learned with bigs in crappin never buy one Even when they're brand new they're junk in a box
My mower runs again after using this video to clean the carburetor. Thanks so much for sharing!
How long is the repair and how much does it cost
Book time is 1.5 hours, i will not discuss prices or what i charge on my channel.
Thanks, that's more than enough i wanted to know. I have Briggs v twin 24hp that is very hard to start, when i turn the engine round by hand it will make weird saxophone noise, is this faulty decompression?
@@martink4719 Depending on your year model engine there could be a multitude of different problems ranging from a cylinder issue or to something as simple as a bad carburetor or a valve problem, the lobes on the cam could be worn, i have seen that happen as well, the noise you hear might be normal as some Briggs engines do make a noise like that when cranking over, i've never seen a ACR (automatic compression release) fail on a V-twin briggs and some don't even have it. my best advice would be to contact your nearest Briggs & Stratton dealer, they are certified in-order to be an authorized dealer :)
1. Not a bearing. It's a bushing. 2. You should always wipe off the grease zirt before greasing. That way, you don't push dirt in and contaminate the grease. Nice video otherwise.
You wouldn't know where I can get replacement tines for that tiller do you
Are you aware of the wind noise?
Wind noise is due to a shop fan blowing air around as it gets very hot in the part of the world i am in.
@@TheOutdoorPowerGuy does it happen to be in Louisiana?
@@ricoruano7213 I'm in the southern east coast or southeast region, for privacy and security reasons of my shop that is all i can share :)
I lost my manual for my push mower and now I am having a hard time getting na adapter for my mower blade it is a craftsman push mower 6 years old every where I go it’s too small what can I do now
Huh? I can't hear you. =(
