      **High Heat Cooking with Olive Oil** Thank you for your comment and for joining me in healthy cooking! 😊Yes, the smoke isn't ideal, but there are a couple of factors at play: 1. I work in a very small kitchen without ventilation, and the camera tends to exaggerate the smoke. 2. I had just rinsed my wok before turning on the heat, and the steam is from residual moisture. Next time, I’ll remember to wipe it down first! 3. The olive oil is only in the pan for a brief few seconds before adding the food. It's important to choose cooking fats that are stable when heated, as some oils can form carcinogenic compounds during cooking. Here are two key properties to consider: - **Smoke point:** The temperature at which the fats begin to break down and turn into smoke. - **Oxidative stability:** How resistant the fats are to reacting with oxygen. Olive oil performs well in both categories. It contains mostly monounsaturated fatty acids, which are largely resistant to heat. Many studies have exposed olive oil to high heat for long periods, and even under such conditions, it doesn't form significant amounts of harmful compounds. Extra virgin olive oil’s smoke point is around 374-405°F (190-207°C), making it a good choice for most cooking methods. Thank you for your question, and happy cooking!     Skyr. It's like cream cheese but yoghurt. It's a salad dressing base, a sauce base, a meal in its own right with fruit, and it's got 20g of protein per serving. Eat 6 and you're golden.

      Great question! Thank you for joining me here. Hope this helps: To determine how much protein nutrients are in a given food, you can use an app like Cronometer and a simple kitchen food scale. Even if you don’t want to weigh and measure all your food, and I get it, consider tracking just your protein intake for a few days. See what you’re averaging. In my experience, almost everyone is eating less amino-rich protein than they think. I’ll save you some time and get you started with protein data for a few common foods. These values are based on raw meat at 4 ounces each. Ground beef, 85% lean is 21 grams protein; Chicken thighs, boneless 23 grams Pork shoulder 21 grams a New York strip of Steak is 25 grams Venison 24 grams Salmon 25 grams Shrimp 15 grams And one large chicken egg is 6 grams Oh, and 1 cup of bone broth is 10 grams. You can find values for plant-based sources of protein on your app. The good news? Each item has it's own unique food value so variety is king. Here's to our health! 😊

    Just a tip for people who don't want to dirty, or don't have, an extra item for scooping, if you pour with confidence (Ie don't tip slowly when starting due to hesitation) you won't get these spills, you need to create an angle so that the fluid wants to pour out over the lip then cling to the side.
