Sex life after surgery?
Looking for good surgeon I am 80yo and have lots of stenosis in my lumbar spine. And was told probably need laminectamy and possible fusion. Who was you surgeon?

Hi, thanks so much for sharing your story. This was helpful! I am trying to decide whether I should move forward with an ALIF. Did you have an ALIF or a PLIF? Did they open you up from the front or back? I have a bilateral pars fracture, I've been in tremendous pain for over a year.. similar story to you regarding what I did at least it think so! L5 nerve pain too going down my left leg related to the fractures.
Hi! Thank you for the question. Yes, our conditions are very similar. I had a PLIF, so I was opened from the back. I believe the surgeon’s determine the incision by the condition, mine made more sense from the back, but either way I would have gone through with it. The recovery is long, and tough for the first few months, but it gets waaaaay better. My advice is this, don’t live with the pain anymore, I can’t believe I put up with it for as long as I did, it was ruining my life. Now I feel like I have my life back and I couldn’t be happier. I have my CT scan for 6 months tomorrow and I will post another vid next weekend once I review the results. Keep me posted, I am more than happy to help.
Hey everyone! Please feel free to drop in a comment or question and I will respond as soon I can. I would love to know how your recovery is going what has been helping or not helping.
Do u feel very stiff
I am at 6 weeks still having low back pain but walking good and so stiff- feel like i couldnt bend if i was allowed to
Hi! Yes, and no. Walking around now I feel pretty good and sometimes completely normal. Other times I feel stiff and my strides shortened after PT work. When I feel the most stiff and have pain is when I get out of bed . Can’t wait to get past that part of the recovery.
@@Jerri_Lynn29 At 6 weeks I felt the same. I was walking just fine, unless it was a steeper decline or incline then my legs felt shaky and my low back would tighten up and cause some discomfort. It takes time. When I started PT at week 7 that’s when I started to gain some flexibility in bending over and using my knees to squat as low as a seated position to get things. It gets better and I’m not that much further along than you are so stay at it. I still have low back pain and it will be that way for a while, but my surgeon and PT therapist said it will go away once the fusion takes hold and I strengthen my core and legs.
Hey everyone! Please feel free ask any questions. Side note: I decided not to show my fusion pic, but I will add in picture of my back where the minimally invasive surgery took place for those of you contemplating the procedure and what your back will look like 6 weeks out. 👍🏻
