    The best way to check if u blew a coolant seal is another compression test. You recently did one, so if you see like a 5-10 psi drop in compression numbers, there's your culprit. Given the mileage of the engine though, I kinda doubt it. If you say temps dropped again after the hose fix, then that's good. Did you visually check to see if your fans turn on at 206F? That's the first fan speed kick. Check it when you're home, let the car idle, pop open the hood, and when your gauge reaches 206, look at the fans and see if they're spinning. P.S. I tried reaching out back in June, was very close by with work, could have taken an overall look at your 8 and answered questions in person, but never got a reply from you :( I will be in NY with my RX8 at the end of this month, but all the way up north past Albany. Recently did a track day (video on my channel), and now doing a roadtrip from Chicago. Would be cool to meet up one day.

    I'm actually obsessed with this car its like this or the Nissan 350z for me lol love the look you've went for you should get your windows tinted to match the colour of the rear wing, I've also seen people remove the badges on the boot and I think that looks really nice as well and its something you can do yourself with just an adhesive remover and cloth lol another cool one would be an indictor swap they are pretty cheap to get and not to hard to do iirc getting some black LED ones to replace the orange can really match the look your going for as well

    like checking your oil level every time you fuel up. Proper heating is needed as you have iron and aluminum pressed together and expand at different temperatures. Premixing is not necessary on a properly functioning rotary. You are more likely to clog your injectors premixing when you don't need too. 88 Fc with 120k was riding strong with no premix but I ran regular sea-foam in the tank to keep the carbon down. When I bought the car the injectors were clogged from premixing and the car wouldn't idle. 12 MPG!!! WTF I had a 30 year old Rx7 and got 18 at least. Oh Leaking fuel line almost killed me and affected my gas mileage. Fixed one leak, and 3 more sprung up after increased gas pressure. Definitely worth the love and shell send ya zooming. I think you will find working on an FC a lot easier as the engine is not so far tucked under the dash and the electronics are a lot simpler.

    6:28 that's just the overflow tank puking coolant out the little hose because coolant level was overfilled, or car got too hot for the level of coolant that was in the overflow; if you're overheating like that, I am inclined to think your fans might not be working correctly? could be the fan relay? idk... if you're losing pressure like you say you are, it could be as simple as the overflow bottle or the bottle cap being your culprit. Like, mine never gets that hot even on hot humid days, it will reach like 208, MAYBE, MAYBE it will reach 212 but that because I'm standing still in traffic... on the highway on a hot day, it will not see more than 200F... The oil in the intake is your car having an oil burp; it can be due to many factors, the simples is you overfilled the oil; rule of thumb, fill it to just below the full line when engine is cold. Investing in a catch can is definitely something you should do. A massive oil burp can cost you a new MAF sensor. Running thicker oil helps a bit with the burps, but it can also be your EVAP solenoid going bad; for your mileage, I doubt it, not something you can rule out completely. I recently replaced mine.

    Biggest issue is RPM, the water pump (S1 especially) cavitates at higher RPM and its basically impossible to keep temps down if it's 90°+ and you're pushing it. Solution is an undedrive Pulley or REmedy pump....or both. A proper functioning cooling system should be able to keep temps under 200° while cruising. Did a 500 mile road trip in FL/GA and cruise temps were 183-187° (series 2 with koyo rad). If you have silicone radiator hoses, ditch those. They weep coolant over time. Oil in the intake is the crappy S1 PCV system routing. Get a catch can, and don't over fill the oil and you should be fine.

    The dragon content was sick dude, glad to see u back. I heard the oil issues is caused by overfilling the oil or filling it too quickly. fairly common thing, not too big of an issue it seems. leaking coolant is always a scary thing with rx8s but as long as u don't see that white smoke coming out the back id say your good 😂 in the meantime You can get a reliability tune at some shops to help with the temperature by turning on the fans earlier, they can also increase omp function, idle speed and a few other things.

Was a little more balsy with the Fiat, but brakes started to fade 2/3 of the way up, so had to slow down. On the way back, I had to take it slow, started feeling nauseous as the driver 😂 Modern cars are nice, I absolutely love my Veloster N. It rotates better than my RX8, but I need wider tires on the 8

    2 things for this video 1. Pro tip, when you go somewhere in the great outdoors away from cities, I always download a local map for Google Maps with the square area I will be in. That way I can look up places and have directions 2. Maybe you just need a coolant flush, however, did you specify any numbers for coolant temps that had you worried? Were you close to 100°C? Or 212°F? If you don't want to tune to bring the fans on sooner, I saw people get some spacers for the hood hinges to lift the hood at the back 1/4 to 1/2 inch to let the air escape easier. I personally have an AEM CAI and relocated my battery to trunk, so my radiator is wide open now. I have the Seibon CF vented hood, but was a bit disappointed with its quality. Fitment wasn't the best, and it's heavier than the factory hood, cause it has fiberglass reinforcent to be able to mount hinges and the hood latch 😢

  • @Snoopi25
    @Snoopi25 Місяць тому

    7:19 why did you turn off the A/C just cause it was hot outside? That actually helps the car cool off too, the moment you turn on the A/C, the ECU logic turns on the radiator fans on low speed and runs them constantly 🤔
