Hey, assuming SE has left the fight unchanged from last time you should be able to manage with Ohtas if you have Beast/Comp from a real COR boosted by AAMR or a BST. Note that a GEO won't help much in this fight beyond triggering the Hammer mechanic as the boss will just keep destroying the luopans, so you'd gain more from having a second COR to do Drachen Roll instead.

I did not. Most T1-T2s are doable with a tank maton while you melee on PUP with Trust support. Also, at the time of the video PUP only had somewhat limited gear available, so if you are well-geared for melee these days even Neak should not require an Overdrive pet zerg anymore.

You or your automaton? Neak shouldn't be able to kill your Automaton under Overdrive, but you could bring Dawn Mulsums to heal it from a distance. If you are getting hit yourself, you have to make sure you stay farther away to be outside of the area of effect (30' and below will still get you hit by Body Slam).

I’m at max distance. Using everything you are. Max stats, using dif weapon. The maneuver +2 and auto dies every time in OD then he runs at me chaining meteor. Can only carry 1 heal item. I even used 2 cor alts for buffs and had them drop. Bad luck x 21

@@brip2348 Oh, your Automaton is probably not dying because of Meteor then, but rather because of the Blaze Spikes I mentioned in the video description (not the video itself because I didn't manage to record it). You either need to bring reliable Dispels for that or enough Dawn Mulsums to counteract the damage, but the latter is difficult to do. You could make a Trust setup with lots of AoE healing and some dispellers like Arciela, Mnejing or Ajido-Marujido and then stay close while engaged, but I haven't tested that method yet, personally.

You're correct. The effect of Overdrive is lost if your Automaton dies at any point after its use. It's actually a buff that is applied to both you and the Automaton at the same time if you look closely at the animation.

Were you using Overdrive with OD set? Why also use Water maneuvers with no water based attachments? Or were you using Mana Jammer etc? In this video he is using Fire, Thunder and Light. Might want to add in Coiler II and Thunder. Also, I think VE/VE can't hit him when he's in the air but SS can.

@Xaero - thank you 🙏. I was having difficulty as well as VE/SS, but tried your method and most of the time it works with Ouryu never leaving the ground. VE/VE with the attachments you selected drops him under a couple minutes 💪. I do use Light/Fire/Wind instead of Water tho 🤷🏻‍♂️.

It's been a long time since I made this video, so I don't remember all the details. I might be misremembering, but I don't think he ever used Invincible when I attempted OD zergs on him, so perhaps he can't use it until a certain amount of time has passed. Alternatively I just got lucky on my attempt, but I may have brought a COR for rolls precisely because without them I wouldn't have been able to win if an Invincible had occurred (due to OD running out).

Invincible doesn't work on ranged attacks anyway.

Hi, I mentioned it in the video description. Basically when the Spitewarden spawned it already had some enmity on my Automaton due to Lilith, so I used Heady Artifice for Invincible to glue the SW to my pet.

A lot of these fights have DPS checks, deal too much damage or have too high stats (such as Evasion) to deal with them without Overdrive or any kind of buffs/debuffs from others. If you want to solo stuff on PUP without 1hrs you'll typically have to engage personally alongside Trusts and use the maton for tanking or damage purposes. I'm planning on making some non-OD videos in the future to showcase that.

Rhayve I meant the Mythic. I have the alluvian skirmish with really good augs. But I do I need mythic? Or SU5 to fight Lilith?

@@TonyGunz916 Oh, sorry. I'm using the Su5 Xiucoatl with Kenkonken lockstyled. The Su4 is almost as good as the Su5 and should be sufficient for the Normal version of this fight, but probably not for Difficult or VD. As far as Kenkonken is concerned I only swap it in for Maneuvers to reduce burden. Other than that it's purely for melee PUP purposes, but not pet burn.

@@princessprincess0039 It kinda is, but some attachments can be bought relatively cheap from the AH. There are some very good ways of making easy gil, such as Gain Experience (convert Sparks into Acheron Shields and Accolades into Prize Powder, then sell to NPC) which is a straight 2m each time you get 99,999 Sparks/Accos each. Old Dynamis has also become a good spot to farm again with THF and isn't very demanding.

This is simply modern retail FFXI. PUP as a job isn't even functional on private servers.

Attachments? I need to do this before double coffer is over please :)

@@TonyGunz916 Back when I did this some of these attachments and improvements didn't exist yet, so it should be a lot easier. If you have a COR friend to buff you then you should be able to do 2 Sov Behes in a row during a single Overdrive. - Valoredge head/Sharpshot body - Light/Thunder/Fire - Inhibitor 1+2 - Attuner - Flame Holder - Speedloader 2 - Magniplug 2 (swap to Stabilizer 5 if your Pet: Accuracy gear still needs work) - Target Marker - Coiler 2 - Turbo Charger 2 - Optic Fiber 1+2 - Auto-Repair Kit 4

@@TonyGunz916 You're welcome! Just make sure you always deploy your Automaton right in front of Sov Behe to trigger its Howl mechanic, otherwise it gains too much damage resistance and you'll time out.

David Carter If you mean Mnejing, then unfortunately his AI doesn't work like that and he won't skillchain efficiently. You will need two real PUPs.

Hi, my OD gear setups are typically always included in the video description and the differ depending on the Automaton used. The biggest contributor to WS damage for Valoredge with Bone Crusher is Xiucoatl followed by Double Attack procs, but the much cheaper Pitre Fists (Path C) would work well too.

E can be done with ZERO pet damage taken gear (no taeon) as long as you use 1hr. Damage goes down without any Pet Double Attack augments though.

Yes, pretty much. It would technically be possible to solo most (but not all) of the content even without Overdrive, but due to the limited damage output it would take very long. It's comparatively much faster to OD zerg and then reset your 1hr in Abyssea or MMM with Revitalizers.

It doesn't work. Gearswap can't catch Automaton WSs early enough because they are instant and don't send any warning to GS. All you can do are manual WS swaps or use the experimental PUP lua on the FFXIAH forums that will swap you into pet WS gear when your maton has 1k TP or more. But it's not perfect.

@@tintin6759 Most Sharpshot WSs need Su4/Su5 weapon, TP Bonus, DEX, Automaton ranged skill+, Ranged Acc/Atk gear. Bone Crusher/String Shredder need Su4/Su5, Double Attack, VIT, maton melee skill, Acc/Atk. Other maton WSs aren't very relevant. Flame Holder, Magniplugs, Attuner, Truesights, Tension Springs, Coilers are all necessary or useful to improve damage.
