5 Ways To Research A Restaurant BEFORE Your Interview | How To Prepare For A Restaurant Interview
You should know a little bit about the restaurant BEFORE you head into your restaurant interview.
It does not take much work to learn a few things about the restaurant you are applying for, but spending a few minutes researching can help you know if it is a good restaurant that you would want to work at.
The purpose of researching a restaurant is for you!
If you are applying as a restaurant server, you should be excited about serving there and that excitement will show to your hiring manager. And if you are applying for another role such as a busser or host, you should also make sure to do the research because you will be representing the company.
In this video, I will walk you through the 5 ways to research a restaurant before your interview. Four of these methods will happen online and the last one will be in person during your interview so you can decide if you would like to work at that restaurant.
In your research, you should focus on learning about the corporation, if you are applying for a chain restaurant AND you should also try to find some information about the individual restaurant you will be applying for.
After watching this video you will know how to prepare for your restaurant interview by doing some research ahead of time.
Good luck with your interview!!

And get this! Enjoying your house with cockroaches and rats , killing them when you feel like it etc seem to be the “hunger games” kind of shit people play when they want to be on TV. Hmmm! The next door bimbo isn’t training to be just a waitress. She is a gwen stefani wannabe who is trying to be on tv and is infesting the neighborhood because of that. Awwww! How cute(sarcasm)

Chicken Shit Raj , who I think has part in cockroach adventures, s exhibiting the same behavior he did during Sandy Nuisance Bean days. He asks me to grow up and deal with cockroaches and enjoy with them as reality. He also thinks I need Hypnotherapy instead of the dealing with root cause of the problem.

Heyyy! Looks like the waitress’ cockroaches didn’t find their way yet into my house today. Keeping my feet up! Meanwhile can I put snakes in someone’s house and call it reality???

Today was my first day as a server, I had my training but today I was on my one (still had help) but figure things out by myself. It was horrible, I wasn't ready for that, but over all it was okay, it's just the beginning and I'm still learning, so don't be hard on yourself if you have a hard day as a server, just see mistakes as learning and growing.

I made copies of the menu. cut it out into smaller chunks. put them all on to one cheat sheet that I could make more copies of. turned them into skinny sheets that fit into my serving book.

I started at a restaurant where we don't write pen and paper, we input orders on small handheld devices. The number of tiny buttons drives me crazy! It forces me to look down away from the customer and search for what they're asking for, splitting my attention and making me look less confident.

  • @Bruhvernor

My first job as a server is at a very high class place with numerous amounts of wines, beer, and cocktails that need to be memorized on top of the menu items. Our system requires us to put the order straight into a handheld device which leaves me looking like a fool, and I had two days of shadowing someone who didn’t seem interested in training me, and kept all of the tips at the end of the nights. So far serving seems very cutthroat. My coworkers seem greedy, and unwilling to help. When I ask for help, they ask if I would just like them to take the table. So I guess the most daunting task of coming into a new server position is surviving my coworkers - and training myself to memorize hundreds of available drink options between cocktails, beer, a full coffee bar, and over 50 wines. If you have been serving for awhile, please have some empathy towards new servers. I have an extremely good work ethic, and it sucks to see experienced servers disappear and go look at their phone when they see my head spinning. I will succeed. I refuse to fail. One day I will be there for the next person who finds themselves in my position.

I think quite a lot of it has to do with the individual customer. I've had customers say that I was awesome and amazing and others who left me no tip at all because they simply left. (I work at a hotel, so they get charged to the room for the food, but if they leave, we don't get a tip). It's the inconsistency that's hard. I work very hard and some people will notice that and appreciate it and give me good tips while others try to "save money" by not tipping. It's difficult to understand since I would always leave a tip, even if the service is bad.

DO NOT approach a table & say HI GUYS or HOW ARE YOU GUYS today...1st off I'M NOT a guy! 2nd DO NOT lean or sit down at the table when taking order. .it's rude & shows laziness...3rd DO NOT AUCTION off food when delivering. If order is taken the proper way the server & runner will know who had what. If an establishment has trained properly EACH seat has a number. Example orders should be taken in a horse shoe fashion...left to right. If there's 3 people at a 4 top but noone is sitting in seat 3 the 3rd persons order would be seat 4. DO NOT ask customer if they want their their change!!!! DO NOT bring return change with 5/10 1 dollar bills...it's a big assumption on servers part as for how much of a tip guests should leave. BE ATTENTIVE remove dirty dishes give refills on beverages ask if guests would like dessert DO NOT lay tab down while guests are still eating. I've been both server & a guest ALWAYS made good tips because I served guests the way I wanted to be served AS a guest.

How much do you really have to know about wine in a fine dining restaurant?
