      Hard to know. If you are worried and in pain I would recommend talking to a physician.

    ok I am just starting. what barbell set do you recommend. I am 5'3, 118lb and have only done 5lb dumbells thus far...so I think I need a lighter set for now. ANYONE else new...what did you invest in for at home. Sadly her link doesn't work anymore

      I use a studio barbell, they’re available on amazon or online gym shops. Over time you will be able to increase the weight. Dumbbells are great as they can be cheaper at lighter weights. They do start to get more pricey as you increase the weight. Hope that helps.

    Hi Coach Gemma! Is this also for men? I am man and did this with my mother-in-law but it was brutal! I only managed with soda cans as weights but could not even finish round 1 when my arms completely gave up and I stopped😟 My MIL did the full 4 rounds using 2x 10kg plates! Her biceps bulge thickly like yours and are rock hard! I feel really low and defeated.

      Don’t feel defeated, my workouts are for everyone and if you do them consistently you will see results in no time. I have a playlist of barbell workouts that you can try. They are hard but if you keep doing them you’ll get better and be smashing 20kg curls in no time at all. 👍

      @@GemmaOPilates Thank you for the encuragement, Coach Gemma! I will try regularly with the soda cans. My MIL smashes the biceps curls with 20 kg and is looking to increase even the kg! She told that I should try first with soda cans and finish the full lesson as the first goal! She told that bulging biceps like hers will take a long time and consistent work!

    This will be the first time for me using a pump bar. Do you have a 10 lb weight on each end, or a 5 lb on each end? As a beginner, should I start out with 5? Or would it be okay to use 8 lb on each end?

    you should rock forwards and let your arms stretch the lats and then extend or slightly hyper extend the lower back to really hit those lats.

      Each orange plate is 5kg so a little over 10kg including the bar as it is just a studio bar

    Really quite big underwire measurement drop, this indicates visceral fat loss I believe? (not an expert) this means your general health is really, really improved. Become a bit of a fan girl the last few weeks and *really* love your exercise content to the point it’s all I’ve done exclusively the last 2 weeks. You are looking fantastically well toned 🧡🧡🧡

    Great workout!! :) Barbell rows are such an important movement for me, because I've been trying to develop my lats; but I find that I have a hard time consistently getting into the perfect position when I'm working out on my own and don't have someone to check my form (I feel like I'm slightly more or less bent over each time, lol). To that end: do you have any tips on consistently finding the proper position for a barbell row?

      Hi Bowie, doing this movement in front of a mirror might give you some feedback on form, use a broom handle for tactile feedback on the position of your head and tailbone. If you are looking to engage lats more try switching to heavy dumbbells for this movement. If you have access to a gym the lat pull down is great for lats, if not chin ups with a bar in a doorframe is always a nice option. Hope that helps and makes sense 👍

I'm currently on a health and fitness journey, so I'm excited to follow along on your updates and try some of your workouts!! I really want to get into incorporating more pilates movements into my routines, because I really need to bring my core up to speed!! I do a lot of powerlifting movements, and find that my deep core strength has kind of been a limiting factor for me. So yeah, looking forward to following along!! :)

      Yeah I attached a 3 hole bracket to the back of the ply wood. Tbh there is probably a better way to do this it’s not holding up the best
