Milk is plain truth… sad when it’s refused
I feel bad because this little guy did not make it. He seemed to lack to reflex to swallow. Failure to thrive is a real thing… everything seemed fine with him but he would not eat. I could put my finger on the back of his tongue and wiggle it causing the swallow reflex. I could force down some milk using this method but it was a fight. I kept him going for about a week hoping he would catch on and momma would take over. Sadly, but honestly not surprising, he did not make it. RIP Ferdinand

    Very good lesson but very hard. Its hard to see your animals die. I find it interesting that you have cattle. That's good. I've always liked agriculture though its not easy. I used to have ducks and rabbits till a neighbor turned me into the city. I have to settle for gardening now. People connected to agriculture, seem sometimes more grounded in the gospel to me, because they don't have their hearts on riches and wealth and social class. (I also feel social class is inhibiting our ability to embrace others in the gospel that are similar to us but not same culture, and who need it.) And self sufficiency is so important right now. ... I wish I had commented on this sooner... Sorry. Sometimes... you see the farm vets they have this thing where they push a tube down their throat and its got this other piece that connects in that you can pump; in the old days it was a metal thing that looked like a bike tire pump sort of. And you'd use it, so you can pump stuff down their throat. I wonder if that could have worked or helped. Sometimes you also see them pushing those pills down their throat with a similar device... But the tube method with liquid might have been only option since they can't really eat solids that well the younger they are. I think they call this esophageal feeding. I hope that gives you some ideas for the next time. (Unless you already tried that...) When they get bloated as adult cattle they use this same tube method only to bring gas out, instead of push it in. And sometimes they'd force mineral oil down to help them get rid of the bloat. Well, you tried, it probably would have died anyway. And I caught that you tried for a week; that's amazing that you stuck with it that long. I used to sometimes see my animals die for no reason when newborn. And even when you tried to save them, doing every trick you knew it would often happen. Also, my relatives got hurt sometimes messing with trying to pull calves so I hope you'll be safe and careful. Sometimes they just don't make it. Sometimes if you see a lot of newborns in a herd die in a season, it can mean to up the nutrition level in the feed. (That's how it worked with ducks and smaller animals. I suspect its similar.) They've messed around a lot with mill feeds recently too. With the ducks when I noticed they were weak and I was losing ducklings, I upped the protein in the feed a bit (before they are born), and then I stopped losing them. (But if its parasites this is different too.) You didn't do anything wrong. I just remember wishing I could have saved them and would try anything I could (my animals in the past), so I thought I should comment. Similarly in the gospel everyone I know has some kind of struggle in their family. People leaving the gospel or doing crazy stuff. And often its also people that have had high callings even. Former bishops I know and others have family struggles just like the rest of us. Its the times we live in; the last days.

      If we only do good and treat all people with brotherhood it will be OK. But we must watch out for enmity. I've noticed when you cross culture and language barriers that its much easier for the adversary (coyote) to try to sabotage it. I am not mentioning enmity because of anything wrong with either of you BUT because every time I've tried to talk to native americans in good spirit the adversary (coyote) tried to mess with it. I hope this will turn to good. But... in our day many people are not living the gospel. This means it would be easy for someone to cast the first stone wrongly. So we must go carefully. I think we are living in a day where the people trying to be real disciples are crying day and night from so much opposition around them. And they are outnumbered by so many pretenders. Because this kind of conditions exist, we want to be extra careful to not stir up enmity. There will be new scriptures soon. And some of them will from the natives. And some will come from others. ... I have also reached a conclusion that the Book of Mormon sign of the Lehi's children being more righteous than the Nephites is ... a repeat event that is happening now or increasing, will happen more soon. T You can tell by how rejected the good, honest, and poor are and the obsession with wealth in many members; rich cars, mansions. In the places where the wealthy are the wealthy want to help the wealthy but not those in real need. And the obsession with only associating with beautiful people and ignoring anyone that doesn't fit an idol. And in some places it looks like certain languages and cultures are experiencing revival while the culture of America and others is becoming ZOMBIE. This is good for some groups to re-experience a revival and hopefully they will do something good with it and not repeat our mistakes. And we'll see some interesting things. ... Its possible that the friends David / Chief M needs will be from situations like Alma Chapter 35. Have you considered this Chief M? Perhaps you are looking in the wrong place. See Alma CH 35! We read the Zoramites cast out their poor. Then the people of Ammon (the valiant ones) rescued them, and they became 1. We won't see any rich people rescuing anyone. Perhaps its in the wrong place to look. Usually those living truth, and faith offend so many people that they don't have a lot of friends and are pushed away. The wealthy and those in the great and spacious building have many 'temporary' friends, and think they have enough, but when trouble shows their friends won't be there to save them. Also be wary and careful for other reasons; this country is becoming UNSAFE to TRAVEL. There is trouble with the markets going on that is increasing and famine is very possible at this point. Even now people are reporting gangs taking over cities, like in Aurora Colorado. Look for the fruit of the love of God in your friends. (1st Nephi Ch 8). Many miracles don't happen in the church buildings themselves (Alma Ch 35). And I hope that the people in the church can have faith like the people of Ammon, in Alma Chapter 24. People dismiss them easily but the only thing we can really look at is sincerity and faith with real intent. Alma Ch 24, is the most moving chapter in the scriptures; that they would face death rather than risk separating themselves from the Savior and his help.

      @@patriciafinn5717 I can see why you say what you’re saying… I believe there are ways to address the concerns you bring up if you’re open to a new understanding. I Don’t believe it’s about sanitizing history. The Utah war is in the history books. That’s why we even know about it. It’s only human nature to want to focus on the good so that is the history that gets discussed. yes, there’s examples on both sides of natives killing Mormons and also Mormons killing natives. It was a war and it was very complicated. I’m learning now that it was expected through the seven fires prophecy given by the three brothers to the people that level of persecution was expected. we can look with clarity at how unfortunate and bad it was… Perhaps it’s more important to look at our present day and seek reconciliation and understanding. You obviously sound passionate. I would hope you’re engaged in some sort of cause to help people that have been affected. It’s interesting to hear you classify the girls coming from Europe as being trafficked. I imagine they’re probably was ones that would fit that description but that’s not everyone. The idea that mistakes were not made is not what I’m trying to defend. In fact, my criticism is, largely ignored the provision and requirement from the Bible regarding polygamy. I have an example in my family history or a woman was married to a man and didn’t see him for years and he left her in complete poverty. That is the history. Not perfect. So was it done wrong at times? Absolutely, I would never argue it was not. I would imagine you hold the same animosity towards other stories in the Bible as well. If not, you should. Judge both examples by the same standards (Mormons and Bible stories). What I learned from this is simply the fact that it’s messy and we are imperfect there was only one perfect individual and that is Jesus Christ in whom all of these wrongs will one day be made right.

    I can't get behind anything relating to modern polygamy. Joseph, Hyrum, and Emma all condemned it openly in public, many times. What Brigham taught was an abomination. We could parse though the nhances of Levitical law, but that has almost no relation to what Brigham did or taught. Midegah, on the other hand, is a pretty interesting dude. This idea of misjudging happens a lot. I think materialism and social class ranking and social warfare for social rank accelerate and increase its chances of happening. Especially, since some people they want to be the center of attention. And so they'll end up using someone (often a family member) as an object to increase their attention, which if you don't have the spirit ends badly. And what adds to this is that people in the church tend to follow the lead of someone they know, who isn't always right but has community standing. So if 1 person leads off wrong you can see how when people are taught to follow they can easily go wrong if they aren't using good decision making. I got burned in a situation like this just earlier today, and it often happens in wards. Its frustrating. And then people will act on their perceptions on who is socially acceptable and who isn't, and it creates problems. A big problem with members now is they don't use the scriptures to interpret the actions they should do or say, and like to voice their own voice, or quote sports instead of scriptures.

    The way you worded the Aaron, golden calf incident was very interesting. I like that you pointed out the intention, and then the effect, and how the masses (or mobs, social pressure) pushed it in a different direction than was intended.

  • @noahriding5780
    @noahriding5780 2 місяці тому

    I think its very inspired that you are thinking of this stuff ahead of time and now. By having you address it now you will help people to make a better decision with faith and real intent rather than a decision based in anger or being upset. This gives them the chance to pray about it now, and know what they will do when the test of faith hits. So you have done so much good by bringing this up. Its quite amazing. Hopefully people will see it as helping also; but I've learned people can sometimes misunderstand good intentions and 'help' because of their own blindness. Sometimes when people try to help other members they get the wrong idea from their own blindness and because of social ranking. It would be also very cool if someday we could see the effect it had of your actions to try to help people on this (probably won't happen till the other side.) ... So here's some inspiration about that... and I think this will help you and others. I don't see you as wavering though. So think of this as a reward to hear rather than an admonition. Even people when they are firm in the gospel, delight to hear things that will strengthen them. So... when you look at the story of Abraham and Isaac. Abraham was asked by the Lord to take Isaac up into the mountain to sacrifice him. You know this story. In mind though, what people don't understand is that EVERYONE will have some kind of test like this. Some kind of difficult decision that looks impossible etc. And it helps to know this so you can 'stay in the boat'. Although staying with the boat will be where the Lord is, not necessarily where the popular majority is; many members are very blind now. And they could easily say things to sway people to misunderstand what's going on. Like in the news now you hear 1 story, and when you do your research you find ... its completely different. Its very possible the public relations department may say things without authority and make claims and changes on their own without the prophet and apostles knowing it. And they might say that the prophet said it. I say it like this because something like this happened last year with one of the letters that went out. And the Public Relations department sometimes acts 'funny' and acts almost like its own authority. There have been people with harmful intent historically in both the public relations department and in the church history department; For reference you can find some Hannah Stoddard videos about this, and the references of names like Bushman and Arrington and ... there was another guy in the 80s that actually went on a shooting rampage in the 80s... and that guy was connected to the church history department somehow. Anyway, back to before... what I mean is... Everyone is going to have this Abraham like test. But its not always the same. For some people it will be having their spouse abandon them. Or having a bad seed for a child. Or more than 1 bad seed (tare). Or the death of loved ones. Or... whatever it may be. For others it may be, they know the church is true and having to choose between that and something they don't like that the church did or put a rule against. For some native americans this happened when they built and sacrifice to make a ward meeting house and then some guy in the church took and stole it and sold it. (This happened in Southern Utah awhile ago). For them the test was... like how the poor of the Zoramites were rejected. So what I am saying; the gospel is still true. The authority is there. But sometimes there's a test with it. Like when I was on the mission eons ago, in CA, some general authority tried to dissolve all the language wards. That was a big test for the people there, especially for polynesians. But then about 6 months after there was an apology letter from another authority, and they reinstated the polynesian wards there, and said that previous authority acted on his own. But perhaps it will ultimately strengthen them. They'll look back and see, 'hey I didn't waver'. And it will turn to good. Especially know, my inspiration was that there are people that are trying to coerce certain changes in the church. And we'll have to choose what we'll do, and it will probably be like that. (The test for our day is probably going to be persecution caused by gender issues and their warfare. That's how it looks like its headed.) Its like an Abrahamic Test ->>> and it just so happens you have the story and phrase of Heber C Kimball predicting in the last days there will be a test. He says, a test, a test, a test,... or something like that. He says it more than once. ... The story of how the Kirtland Bank failed is a really good story to this. When the Kirtland Bank failed, many members apostatized. And many apostles of that time fell away. But some people remained firm and unmovable. I think this story of the Kirtland Bank failure is a treasure, because I think something similar like it could and will happen again at some point. Especially because people are very caught up in materialism. People back then blamed the prophet for the bank failure. But when you research the story, about 800 banks failed around that time. PLUS, the amount that 1 guy stole from the K. Bank was more than enough to have covered the amount the bank was in the hole for; meaning if he hadn't stolen that money it wouldn't have failed. (So not Joseph Smith's fault after all). Also this idea and concept of how/why so many of these banks failed in that era helps explain why so many people were so quick to jump on the persecution wagon of that whole decade; because they were angry and looking for someone to hit because of their pains. (Doesn't make it OK, but helps fill in puzzle pieces.) Anyway... to summarize, you did good. You created a safe place where people could talk to you. And you are able to talk to them like in D&C 50; edifying each other. Hopefully everyone who sees what you did will be boosted by your encouragement and our dialogue together. And I hope this supports what you said w good feeling, fellowship.

    There's so much trouble right now. And we're heading right into it. I had an impression about the bride of the bridegroom from the spirit. It was an impression of her wanting to flee oppressors. And that people were trying to harass and force her to do their bidding. Like they were trying to restrict her. And she was trying or wanted to go to the wilderness to escape it. The impression was... like the bride was the church. She didn't want to do the changes but was being forced to under duress, threat. Basically I think this means that people are trying to force changes in the church where the changes aren't always inspired. I'm not saying the church or the gospel isn't true. But that people are trying to take over the ship who aren't real authority. Or trying to steer it behind the scenes. (Why else would there be scriptures about ark steadying?) This is what it means for our day when we read that Nephi's brothers captured and bound him on the ship, and overthrew it. And when that happened storms occurred. Now to be careful... I'm not saying the ship or the church or the gospel isn't true. Its just that the number of people wanting to live the gospel are now being drowned out by the crowd of people that are trying to go along with the crowd. I think this is what's happening now. ... Well... I hope this helps you somehow. We still need to stay in the boat. But its like the waves are getting rougher. And the L&Ls are trying to lead.(I'm not specifying who the L&Ls are, this is OK to say.) I've also had impressions of bad trying to get in the temples for a while. And now it looks like certain things are happening. I don't see the end result turning out well. We're told in the scriptures not to change the covenants/ordinances. We also wouldn't change or modify the scriptures. So I'm worried about the new changes. But if you bring this up to people they don't know how to process that without a reaction. ... Edited in after seeing your video; @25:25-ish you mention the protections have been removed. Yes... that's why everything is going wrong now. NOTHING good is happening in this country right now. And people should be like... 'why is that?'

    Found this by accident. Well... I have had experiences similar to yours in some ways. I've always liked other cultures and been friendly to them. I've tried to be friends with native americans at every chance and to help them. But I've always had them get mad at me, basically stuff for things Americans and American culture had done to them, not because of what I'd done to them or what LDS people had done to them. I find that frustrating. I've also run into the story that in the 1800s when missionaries first went to the Hopi, the Hopi were told by dreams or spirit vision etc that the men from the west (mormons) would be friends to them and give them blessings or whatever... but the men from the east would try to hurt them and be bad (the Americans). Well.. why do we have to be classified as bad people to them? Technically the people from this country tried to hurt and squash our culture also. So why don't they see us as different? IF you look at the pattern of what happened here in America over the last 150 years... if WW1 & 2 hadn't happened, the people of this country would have gone after us again. You see this when you read the Utah War and other things from Utah history not Missouri history itself. Yet we still love this country and land. It also seems that when you cross culture and language lines that... it seems like there's always this enmity that gets triggered so easily. Even without even trying. You can say something and not even be rude, not trying to be harmful, and even being nice. And sometimes people will somehow get upset. ... In native culture also the leaders both chiefs and shamans use eagle feathers. I'd learned that eagles are symbols of angels. So that's quite interesting that there's a connection there. (Else they'd not want angel symbols among them...) I've been backstabbed by people from other cultures AND from LDS people a lot. So it seems like we're at that point where we're facing the trial of our faith again, because our people and culture aren't living the gospel. So I think they'll have to go through a trial again to re-awaken the flames. I don't have any opinion yet On Midegah... but I did notice there's some things in the Book of Mormon that only natives will find and recognize. And its very interesting. Like the natives have this prophecy about a white buffalo coming when trouble is coming and a time of change... well that actually matches up with the Book of Enoch. Only in other scriptures its sometimes called a white beast or a white cattle (Buffaloes are sort of cattle). And European culture uses a white horse instead. (Well JS used a white horse for some things.) There are many things that are hard to explain with some things that other cultures have. And it seems some of this is from them having remnant bits among them. But I try to not decide on if its real or not with them but just go on, support what's good, don't support what's bad, and cause NO HARM to anyone. ... Well... I hope this will help you somehow. I imagine you want a reply and hope people will notice your video.

      The first time I saw David I was so excited and thinking this is the time for the Lamanites to blossom as a rose. Some of the people were saying maybe he is that Davidic servant but I don't think so. After I watched a few more videos I realized that he is too full of hatred toward white people. He kept saying "you" when talking about the horrible things that his people had been put through. Some time later he even said that there were people who had said "we were even there" and he still held it against us so I don't know what to think about him just yet. He needs help to overcome the trauma he has been through in his life. But he and many others of his people need help to overcome these things and maybe then he will find the peace and understanding that they need. I am hoping that this move to Canada that he talked about may help start the healing as he spoke very positive about his experiences so far. That was two or three weeks ago. I do hope he will find that peace and love he is searching for.

      @@icecreamladydriver1606 That's kind of what I ran into when I'd run into other natives I ran into. Although I've only run into a couple so far that weren't Latinos/as. I think I understand why people are confused. First, we do know there will be more scriptures someday. And some may come from natives AND other places in the world. So we would expect a scenario like this someday. But we had to earn our scriptures from being good and faithful. And accepting the gospel. We didn't get them by following hate. So I don't think we can gain scriptures from that person, especially if there's hate. (This is probably why we had the lesson of the lost manuscript; else someone would say, hey I've got it right here!) Scriptures come from the Lord. And they would be beacons of hope, peace, and Zion. So I don't think this is the source; meaning that person. But I do hope for the day that it could be so. And if someone had scriptures, records from their peoples journey of faith, they should have more light and spirit, and some ability to discern between Americans and the people of God. And accept them. That's why there's that scripture that ... when we are at Zion we'll see eye to eye. This means seeing each other with acceptance, love, and true brotherhood. (This is a discernment key I think. I don't see it there.) Another point is that we are living in a time where it could also be the case where some Lamanite groups are more righteous than the country is. Because that happened in the Book of Mormon. So I would think there's some of that. And... an example of this, there's a hymn video of an LDS Mongolian choir singing a church hymn that sounds like a match for that. When you listen you think wow, how could they be so humble to sing like that. And some non-English wards would be very precious. Additional note; There is some Rigby guy going around passing out new scripture manuscripts. But when you actually look him up, he was excommunicated at some point. So... that can't be a match.

I agree with Chief Midegah having authority, but even if he didn't he can be given it directly from God as a calling. Alma the Younger left the wicked King Noah and priests and received power from on high. I don't see how we shouldn't have more than one source of truth either ...where did we come up with one prophet shall be for the planet at a time, while at the same time we say that the lost tribes will come back with their prophet. Many times in scriptures it says the prophets plural.

      Your question is one that I would have a hard time answering simply. Understanding what sin is and when it becomes, sin is a large concept. For instance, at the covenant status of Abraham at the time he was asked to offer Isaac that was not sin according to the covenant he was under. The Noah law or the covenant is for principles at its most basic. None of those four were violated with the request by God. Like I say, it takes a lot more explaining, and I have been trying to wrap my head around a way to do a video explaining these connections. There’s a nuance to what you’re saying on priest Authority. Once again something I want to try to put together my thoughts around, but will take some time. Thanks for chiming in
