2023 ITOBA Fall Mixed Sale
The Indiana Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (ITOBA) hosts a mixed sale each year. The 2023 edition of this sale included a Live Yearling Sale, a Live Paddock Sale (horses of racing age), and a Mixed Digital Sale (horses of all ages).
The ITOBA Fall Mixed Sale gives breeders and consigners an opportunity to offer the horses they have put their hearts and hard work into raising to buyers who will take these horses on the next step of their journey toward stardom.
The 2023 Fall Mixed Sale kicked off with the Friday Night Preview, an evening where potential buyers could get an early look at the horses in the Live Yearling Sale while enjoying giveaways, food, and time spent with the horse racing community. The following afternoon the consigners led their beloved yearling into the sales ring where those buyers would have the chance to acquire the horse of their dreams.

I met Go For Gin at the Kentucky Horse Park, a month after he arrived there. The meeting was most interesting and, at the same time, gratifying. I walked up to his stall, dutch door with a screen top and found myself looking at the champ's rump! Just for the fun of it, I started talking to him and, in short while, he turned and actually put his nose against the screen! One of the attendants (grooms?) immediately got up and walked over. He said that it was the first time Gin had reacted to a human - including them - since he arrived! Now that he has left us, I can still reflect warmly on the honor he paid me!
I have been ridding Go for Gins daughter that was sent to slaughter in 2015 for a while now. She is a beautiful horse that definitely deserved the second chance she got. I am disappointed that they would even send her to slaughter in the first place, even though she was to old to race anymore. This is way to common today. She is now a hunter jumper and is around 15. But I am glad that go for gin is enjoying his retirement.

Outstanding video about a high quality person and trainer that truly cares about his horses and employees. Never have a question as to whether our horses are in the best of care.
So cool to find this video because I was there on this visit. Sadly, this was my last opportunity to see A.P. Indy. His descendants Honor Code, Mineshaft, Honor A.P. and West Coast remain at Lane's End to represent his family.
Their stalls look like jail cells.
The stalls at Lane's End Farm are huge! There is plenty of room for the horses to move around or lay down and they are packed full of comfortable bedding. Each stall has huge windows that let in lots of sunshine - the horses really enjoy gazing out at the farm through them. Most importantly, the horses are not in their stalls 24/7. Lane's End is especially adamant about their horses spending as much time outside as possible. These horses are worth millions of dollars and live like kings. I encourage you to visit the farm for yourself if you are in our near Kentucky!

To me there is NO BETTER SOUND than the hooves of a great horse walking on asphalt or cobblestone road or walkways. To me the best smell in the world is a stall with new shaving and horse shit. I'm serious , you either like it or you don't. I have always liked the smell of horses period.

The owners control's the farm when Zenyatta can be shown. They only care about the money not zenny. They say Ann moss comes by like once a year to visit. Sad
I visited Zenyatta this past summer and gave her a nice butt rub. The people at Lane's End are awesome and they make the entire facility available to see.
