Just perfect.
Magnificent otchestra, you'd never know just by listening these were all young ! A brilliant performance I've thoroughly enjoyed. Well done, hope they've all got fabulous careers !
ALL IN THEIR TEENS
I have heard many recordings of this work on discs and in live concert, and this is, to me, the best performance of all! Amazing musicians, excellent conductor.
Музыка фантастическая....большой,мощный,сыгранный оркестр...достойный ведуший по таинственным планетам...отлично.....
can't count how many times I came back to this recording and watch it from start to end. truly magical. ✨
Probably has to be my favourite suite... looking forward to seeing the NZSO perform this in November
HAPPY DAYS
What is the average age of these wonderful musicians? Very beautiful orchestra. Thank you.
The official age range , to be a member, is 13 to 19. so, teenagers. their total number is 160 member's.

I have never known there was an unofficial Pluto piece.
Hogwarts has an awesome band!
i still come back to this because of how gas it is
What a joy to see and hear these talented young musicians. I keep coming back to watch this fabulous video when ever I need a reassurance that the future of classical music is in good hands.
You kiddos sound incredible, amazing work
Who is the first Horn?
Livi Gandee
Marvelous, but couldn't be bothered with the Pluto section, a racket.

Those of you who came from TikTok, the bit starts at 21:49
Yes! I think that heard Holst Jupiter from a Bluey episode called Sleepytime. 😭😭

The recording is So good. Useful to see an Orchestra perform, to see which instruments were used to create what.
THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL, ONCE HAD A REPUTATION FOR POOR SOUND. MORE RECENTLY, ITHAS BEEN GREATLY IMPROVED. OBVIOUSLY.
I have to write about this for school
WELL, Why not just write, ''IT 's, ''SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS''. INSTEAD ?
I want all their autographs!
160 OF THEM ? WELL THEY ARE ALL TOO OLD NOW, FOR THE YOUTH ORCHESTRA, AND ARE PROBABLY SCATTERED ALL OVER THE WORLD, PLAYING IN THE BEST ORCHESTRAS., AS PROFESSIONAS, HOPEFULLY.
Who composed the Pluto movement????
Those bones at 4:23 are tearing it up. Love this performance, thank you for reuploading it.
The last one reminds me of some Danny Elfman stuff.

Who is the conductor?
Edward Gardner-try looking at the written intro to the music !
we doing jupiter in my middle school orchestra and i be excited ash for it fr
A bit more sophisticated than Grime.
Are you stupid?
INCREDIBLE ! Listen to it on full volume !
SO DO YOUR NEIGHBOURS EH ?
The music of the future..... Thank you Mr Holst.
MYSTERIOUSLY, NEVER ISSUED BY THE BBC, AS A DVD OR EVEN CD. YET THEY ARE ALWAYS HOLDING OUT THE BEGGING BOWEL THIS PERFORMANCE WOULD HAVE SOLD MILLIONS AROUND THE WORLD.
Wonder what Holst would make of Frank Zappa "borrowing" (ahem) of the Jupiter movement. I think he'd find it hilarious.
''where's ma money Frank ?
The beautiful part at 22.00 is called Thaxted, named after the Essex town where Holst lived.
NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW THAT, THANKS, I'VE HEARD OF IT.

Not only performed with precision, but with subtlety, energy, and emotion. This group put their own distinct stamp on a classic like I've never heard it before. Thank you for renewing and lifting this piece to a new level. Gustav would be very proud, I'm sure.
And, although the Royal Albert once had a negative reputation for poor sound, the new work AND BBC Sound technicians, AND Cameramen, did a excellent job.
See......this is why I love watching these orchestrational presentations. It's amazing to see the musicians "becoming" the music they are so painstakingly generating. One cannot simply "play" the planets; you have to realize you "are" those planets you are representing. Especially towards the end of Mars, you could feel the dedicated intensity needed to reproduce this outstanding finale. The god of War, turned these musicians into his own personal army of FEARLESS warriors! GREAT!
Fabuleux !!! Magnifique !!! Vénus, en particulier, est de toute beauté.
RIP Pluto. you are missed
Pluto hadn't even been discovered when Holst wrote this piece in 1914-17.
Best Perfomance of Holst's the Planets out there, very talented young Gen Z musicians and the performance blew the roof off. I bet it sounds very powerful live 👍
