    Can you add ice also to make the battery last a little longer, or will that possibly damage the fridge? Also, does it generate a lot of heat?

    • @jacobsupgrades
      @jacobsupgrades 5 днів тому

      @@UA-camNathanShorts yes you can add ice to the fridge and even run it as a freezer to keep ice or ice cream. The more cold things in the fridge and more volume filled up the more efficiently it will run thus saving power. It does generate some heat when the compressor kicks on but nothing crazy, you won't burn yourself with it or heat up a space. You do need to allow some space around the compressor area for it to circulate air and vent.

      I haven't used the fridge in 110 degree temps yet. I think it will depend on several factors; is it exposed to direct sunlight, is it in an AC vehicle, is it running off DC power or the portable battery, is it in max or eco mode, is it full or mostly empty, were the contents you put in it cold before hand, was it pre-chilled. I've ran it off the portable battery in direct sunlight on a boat in 90 degree temps and it kept my drinks and snacks cold for the day out on the water.

    • @jacobsupgrades
      @jacobsupgrades 21 день тому

      @johnferebee, that's a custom setup I put together using different products. I started off with my TracRac dual T slot rails and bought their toolbox slide kit. I then mounted Inno load bars to them with a Rhino Rack mesh half basket 60" long. Rhino rack no longer makes the basket but you might be able to find something similar. This setup is really nice cause you can slide the basket to the tail gate so you can load heavier items and it doesn't interfere with the Retrax cover.
