Turn Your Medium Alice Pack Into An Assault Pack
recommend you get a holder to keep those batteries from touching each other which over time will drain their charge
Will have to add it to the list, most of the time I can get away with rolling the bag with the batteries side by side but careless packing happens often
@@WinterWarriors Totally understandable. Some sort of tape could keep them in order as well i suppose
For sure, think at one point I was using the plastic cases that the 32 pack gum comes in
I love this, can’t wait for more
Thanks. I was looking for a no-sew foot box so my feet wouldn't poke out. There is still enough poncho liner to pull up to my throat.
Trigger mittens sized up for winter ,slip the gloves in and out of them bad boys
that's what I tried to do but my hands got bigger
Best kit Ive seen. Toss a trash bag in there in case your poncho tarp or clothes get wet and muddy. Thanks for sharing.
any wet or dirty kit would get strapped on the outside of the pack so it can dry, if you pack it in a watertight bag it'll mold and ruin equipment
What about boots and plates? Also, do you wear a baselayer in the winter?
for boots I have the 5.11 A/T 6 inch. ad I wear base layers when the weather determines, always want to start cold because movement will warm you up. I use under armor 4.0 for a base.
@@WinterWarriors thanks
Gonna have to watch this later. My poncho liner's been acting as a bag liner for a long time after I almost froze on a trip to Death Valley one Thanksgiving weekend. We didn't have reservations and ended up camping at Wildrose Campground. My sleeping bag had been in the stuff sack for a long long time (yes, I know. Bad idea). Poncho liner to the rescue.
a good way to get some fluff back in the bag is let it run in the dryer for a few minutes, careful not to let it get too hot tho. works better on syth bags but I've been doing it for a while after every few trips
sleeping under a tree with lots of branches and leafes gives you extra camo against drones and air surveillance in general
Agreed. 5 years military R&D. I'd guess a part of the design was that the Alice be a US form of the Vietnamese X frame or Alice Light Pack. The full setup at 75 pounds. Yet 125 not abnormal. The pack can be used as a standalone at 40 liters without a frame. The frame then can add a pack board for the wife to carry a heavy load. The warriors back and knees should not be squandered. I'm not sure if 40 liters is just the interior or includes the pockets. I'd seen a full backbreaker on the AT. The trash can mod adds an internal frame. The weight of just the pack and straps without wet bags about three pounds. I may need to rezero the scale. That's an appropriate AT or hostel hop pack these days for 25-35 pounds without frame. You won't survive very long carrying 70.. .
Anyone from Massachusetts here
Love the set up brotha
i see the pipboy which variant? :)
It’s the Garmin fortrex 801
Good advice
You never explained non permissive environment or reasons for being in one.
That’s a good point I didn’t even think of that I will do a video just discussing what it is and what situations would deem it a non permissive environment thank you
Solid knowledge transfer brother..
Can you please tell me how many times you have actually read the Constitution and analyzed it thoroughly?
Lol what the hell does that have to do with a gear video?
@@andrewsizemore5883 It is in their profile, so it is a valid question for them to answer.
@kingy002 any question is a valid question I'm just wondering what it has to do with a gear video?
@@andrewsizemore5883 I'm merely amused at their proclamation of defending the Constitution. Few people have ever read it, and I suspect they have a confirmation bias towards what they want to believe is in it. That's all, nothing more and nothing less. It is their statement, not mine. Regarding the gear video, it has nothing to do with it.
I would make one big role for your sleeping, easy to deploy when you need it easy to pick up
Probablywant to bring an extra pair of boots., few pair of socks to,
I've just recently added 3 extra pairs of socks. I'd had them in there before but haven't used them enough to keep em around because I always dried mine at night in my bag. carrying an extra pair of boots would be unnecessary unless you keep them in a vehicle. keeping them in a pack is just too much extra weight and bulk.
Nice video nice stuff. It never ceases to amaze me how we in the west have so much disposable income to spend on larping. Not a criticism.
I'm sure happy we have the rights to go marching wherever we want to, too. Lol.
Everyone in the country should keep a kit
Cut the bottom half off a small water bottle and tuck your sawyer stuff into it. Scooping water into a cup then into those bags is way faster than trying to dunk the bag and getting it to fill. Plus that's the only way you're getting water from shallow places at all with that setup. It's a good one, but adding a scoop to it makes it unstoppable.
that's a good idea. you thinking the top half of a regular commercial bottle and using as a funnel? might be good to add a bandanna to that to filter out larger debris too. use cookset/canteen cup to scoop into the funnel and into the bag.
@@WinterWarriors nah, i use the bottom half as a wide mouth scoop and just give it a lil pinch on the edge to make it pour accurately. If it might give you new ideas, I'm pretty sure that smart water bottle threads match right up to the Sawyer. I think you can work that to make them easy to backwash in the field as well as drink thru them more or less, but I can't remember right off. I thought that would be useful, but my best adaptation for mine has been putting it inline on a water bladder and just using it to drink directly or fill many bottles using it as a gravity filter. Definitely pre filter anything chunky, whatever method you like. They're definitely a good tool for the money.
@@camojoe83 yeah man that's some good info, appreciate you
@@WinterWarriors no problem. Another thing would be some iodine tabs for backup and when you're doing training near civilized areas, especially rural habitations. Just to be safe. You'd be surprised where poop ends up after a spring flood.
I have iodine tabs, they were part of my fighting kit video that pairs with this one, I keep em on my belt with my canteen
Decent kit. I just bought a few things today, now I see the video. Not fair. North American seems to be the standard.
I will continue to use north American rescue. as I use it in my job so that says something about the quality.
I agree with the projectiles. You definitely don't want to go short on them. I'll probably include the first aid kit. Just to be on a safe side batteries. Probably go with rechargeable batteries, simply because they last longer and let's face it, hopefully the cache or resupply kit, you will never use. But for that reason, I would at least swap everything out once a year. Also I would put in one complete change of clothes. I like your videos, it makes me think what I would do differently. They challenge me.
I agree with multiple food options. Especially considering sometimes you won't want to, or won't be able to build a fire. I know 3 weeks without food; I go 2 days without food, and my dog doesn't even want to be around me. As for sawyer filter, put them in your arm pit or zip lock bag then inside your sleeping bag at night. This keeps them from freezing up. Just couple ideas.
Woodland warriors mount up…..M81 for the win
Its been declared defacto 'civilian' camo for conus by many
Hows you're local terrain , mountains? More flat? I'm in Russell MA I had to rock clime BC I lost the trail on Montgomery MT and with 35lb Alice XD. Assented like 700ft in half a mile almost died twice it hard and funny cuz it also started raining hard that's when I shat me self them leaves were very slippy...
mn is fairly flat in my region and therefore is very swampy, but there's a good couple chunks in western mn that get up in elevation
Great video. What brand knife is that. Thanks
its an ozark trail knife
I found the knife. Did you put different scales on it or just modify them. Can’t find one with handles like that. Thanks
@ajp100009 I don't believe it's avalible anymore, I can find some that are copies on Amazon for 6x as much as the ozark trail

Goes over medical kit...Gets eaten alive by mosquitoes...🤨
Minnesota be like
You definitely have the basics to be sustainable. What is the weight of your bag? How many miles have you rucked with that bag? I didnt see a repair kit, wet wipes (toilet paper).
it's around 40 pounds could be a little more or a little less. durring summer i was doing about 8 miles every other day for some lighter conditioning. I had toilet paper in the lid of the ruck and a repair kit would be good to get, as of rn just using shoe goo that I don't keep in my ruck because I'm worried about it bursting or deteriorating durring winter.
@@WinterWarriors nice. Good to hear you training with it. Shoe goo does work, but your right it might bust. Keep up the vidoes
thank you sir, will do
What pack is that again? Link?
tasmanian tiger raid mk3, a.co/d/58QRsxm
@@WinterWarriors nice one thanks
for sure
@@WinterWarriors nice pack that mate i still use my virtus bergen from my army days but i need something that isnt Multicam 💪💪💪😚👌
yeah man it's a great bag, nothing wrong with multicam either unless it's a more specific reason than not liking it
Serious question…how fast can you run with that pack?
I don't run often with it because it's hard on joints so i don't have an exact measurement for ya but I can get up to a good speed for 100 yards before getting absolutely gassed
Oil up
excellent
lol. Civilians
well if you'd like to elaborate and share thoughts, that's also welcome.
Enlist and see reality
I am enlisted army active duty I am the other guy that posts videos on here
I love how some military guys think they are so much better than civilians, I appreciate the sacrifice of our service members but that comment makes you sound like a douche thinking you're better than civilians just because you enlisted and had someone teach you how to shoot and survive and do drills because your daddy couldn't teach you himself lol. I'm a civilian and I'd bet my left and right nut I could not only out shoot, but out maneuver and out survive you.
lol. petty functionary
Nice one mate. Keep positive an keep pushing forward. 🔥👍👌
Sorry to keep jumping in but why do preppers never have a tactical dog or just a dog ?
mine disapeared a few years ago and I won't get another until I'm more financially well off
@@WinterWarriors I'm sorry for the loss.
Most don’t have the training to run a tac dog. The dog also needs to be trained. Extra equipment for the dog is also extra weight. Think of food, meds, dog maintenance equipment, med kit for the dog etc. In a team dynamic where equipment can be distributed and another “handler” can utilized then it is more feasible. One person carrying that much kit plus kit for a dog is a bit much. Is it advantageous to have a trained K-9, yes but you also have to figure what it is you are trying to accomplish and what means you have to accomplish the task with. Just my 2. cents worth.
@@EPGunman OK thank you. That's a very good break down of K-9 logistics in a survival situation. It's hole other life to cary support for. Thanks for the reply.
@@jerryrichards8172 no problem glad to share a little info.
Be nice to see your layout set up of your camp ?
you talking a video on camp setup?
@@WinterWarriors yep
I will definitely find a way to make a video out of it
Sure lets check out the other pack 😊 And the separate weight of each pack ?
Keep er going there pal. Thanks for the video
thanks for video. Setting up my kit right now and I learned a lot.
happy to help out homie, if you need any other help for something specific you can always reach out to the insta🤙

hell yeah 💪
Great vid and content thanks man.. side note I believe the flag is hung wrong stars should be to the viewers left when vertical
glad you enjoyed brother! you are correct, and I'll change that now, just went with the print face when I hung it up.
Diggin the nut diggin 😂
The infantry got me I lost my filming manners
Love the videos guys!!! Let's do a joint video next time we do some training
Would love to I am sure the other boys can I am out of state for the next couple years so it will be hard for me to make it back up to the mid west
Solid kit.
Link or info for the smoke?
it is an actual m8 smoke probably doesn’t work. But you might still be able to get them on gun broker they are crazy expensive
Interesting to watch younger dudes make this content. You LOOK like you are maybe 18 with a 26" waist, which is interesting to compare gear like your belt. Are those Elite Tribe pants from amazon? Got a pair back when I was experimenting with various chinesium pants and I liked those the best, held up and stretchy in the right spots. Some of your gear is similar to what I have, DM MEPC and beez scrim. I have and buy both gucci and budget gear, I find it interesting to see what other dudes have made work. More videos/content showing how and what you are training is great, helps others motivate to do the same. Also, if you start posting more get one of those bluetooth clipon mics, had to turn my TV up to hear. Watch out for those internet trolls.
close brother, 19 with a 30-31" waist. 160lbs and change streches thin being 6'2. I'm running the emerson gear pants stated in the video but might have been quiet like you said, we will plug out some videos on training weekends here soon (whenever we get together next) but usually it ends up being pretty baron of watchable content. we will experiment and make something worth seeing. I really appreciate the comment and recommendations and I'll invest in a good audio/lighting setup in the near future.
gear is very bipolar in the sense that Gucci gear may not be avalible to everyone in every way and there's absolutely no shame in going with cheaper kit as long as it fills the role well. I wont live by the sense of buy once cry once unless you're very experienced because especially for newer guys your kit will be constantly changing but that dosnt mean buy garbage, more like spend the money where it needs to go and know where you can buy surplus or quality airsoft gear.
@Warriors100%, ive had some mockery of some cheap bump helmets, like the recent $50 emerson i got. It works for the context. Will it last as long as a $2000 ops core (also have) obviously not, and not ballistic, but $50 buy a new one lol. I like playing with budget gear that works, especially with goals of having spare gear to gear a squad when the balloons go up haha. kidding. sort of. not really.
@BrandonLamb1 cheap gear gets the boot alot and alot of times deserving. But bumps have plenty of uses regardless of not being ballistic offers more utility and protection than a boonie or skullcap. people like to crap on the things they don't like or understand
Be more confident when you speak. Don't back down from statements that you make immediately after making them. It makes me respect you less Woodland is the best camo ever. Full stop.
it wasn't backing down from a statement, it was a very dry joke. as an opinion I can respect that some may think m81 is the best camo but I definitely do not think so, but it works very well for our AO.
@@WinterWarriors one day you'll realize that it was actually that. Maybe after a public speaking course
@@WinterWarriorsm81 is best or your wrong. Although MCT and flecktarn are pretty sexy too. I'm in the PNW though so obviously context matters
@@BrandonLamb1 the pencott and m05 variants do impressive work as well
@@WinterWarriorsoh yea, i havent bought that because i would have no closet space lol, but i do like pencott. there have been some other swedish patterns that look cool too, but then if you buy that then you need matching plate carrier...and chest rig... and belt... and assault pack... and well..
Great video very informative and thanks for sharing!
Nice video! I just tried with my mint condition LC1 Pack from 1974 with the quick release waist Strap. I have nos LC2 sholulder straps for This and sits quite high up on the back of the Pack, like that of ww2 mussete bags 😅
it definitely is very high on the back, suits a smaller framed person well tho (kids, etc)
Do it jiggle when ur rucking??
vigorously...
