This game was a massive part of my childhood, I remember my cousin bringing it over to my house one day after school, and we played it for hours without stopping, definitely a big contributor to my love of cars today and my eventual love for the Gran Turismo Series

It's still worth it in 2024! I just got mine a week ago and this wheel is fantastic.

So glad to watch the reaction of people on VR for the first time, we need a lot of more people coming to VR, because after you are in VR ... go back to 2D flat games it's like going back 10 years back in time. In 2D games you are always an spectator of a game and you are moving always some avatar, even in first person view, in VR you are INSIDE the game, you are inside the WORLD of the game, and only in VR you can be playing and experience it as a REAL first person player.

57 year old Aussie here. I retired and got A PS5, VR2, a wheel and a rig instead of lawn bowls.....Ive been racing in VR since launch and can easily do several hours non stop, without sickness....I do get tired, but thats from clenching my butt the whole race, as it SO FREAKING INTENSE. The haptics in the headset even make the tiniest nudges personal. Its freakin awesome.

If anybody ever happened to ask me if I've driven a Ferrari Enzo flat out on the Nurburgring, I'll be tempted to say YES 😁

Welcome to VR you should get the PCVR adapter now if you have a pc. AMS2 has the best VR support.

First time was truly crazy. So mindblowing. It still is, but on another level 😅 I guess i will never drive on a monitor again.

Now people are seeing how cool the PS VR two is. I’ve been screaming it for over a year now.

I suggest get a globular cluster. It makes it more comfortable and you don’t have to worry about getting that sweet spot every time.

Ive had mine for about a year now and only race in vr, but I never get tired of watching someone elses first impressions of it. It always puts a smile on my face. 👍🏁

I don't know if Ghost Giant is available for PS VR2 but if it is you should play it

VR is about immersion, like 3d back then. I don't think it's about photorealistic graphics. There are a lot of excellent games that look cartoonish or just bad. I don't see the point of arguments like "you can see it's a game" because you can also see that playing without VR, considering the actual state of technology. Immersion is about feeling inside the game, not about feeling you're on a real place or situation.

No Man's Sky with its recent visual update is now absolutely brilliant in PSVR2.

If you own a PS5 and GT7 and you love cars and racing then you HAVE to get a PSVR2. Being able to see the cars up close in the virtual garage is an incredible experience. No question about it. Even if you just played GT7 it would be worth it.

Really nice! Nothing can explain the feeling and immersion of VR you have to try it yourself. Now try other games where you have to stand. For example "Horizon Call of the mountain" It'll be worth it. Another strange thing in VR is when you see NPC's in full human size and they interact with you. Thats another "wow"-moment.

Bro is way too critical. I cant believe that the PS5 can run GT7 in VR with these insane graphics. On PC you need a freaking 2000 USD GPU and still wont get these graphics.

When I first tried vr I was even more shocked than you - totally blown away and definitely one of the best feelings I’ve had in my life - I could visit a world of sooo many possibilities of games and experiences and be someone else and do anything I wanted to anytime any place - just like a very vivid dream but a dream of my choosing . I could never go back to flatscreen games after experiencing vr. You talk about the graphical limitations but try a Rtx 4090 with like a pimax 8k or pimax crystal or wait for the pimax 16k with 200 degrees fov and and rtx 5090 or a PlayStation vr3 with a PlayStation 6 and am pretty sure you’ll find it difficult to tell the difference from the real world . Just can’t understand why VR gaming hasn’t superseded 2D gaming by now and is still nesh market - same with 3D movies or 3D tv . But am guessing as VR reduces in price and becomes more user friendly and realistic then it will definitely grow and is the future not just in gaming but in a lot more applications - it’s just a matter of time .

It was great watching your initial reaction when the game first kicked into VR mode. As someone who started with VR in 2019 and has played very few flat games since, it really brought a smile to my face as it was pretty close to how I reacted to my first time in a headset. I'd love to see more videos where you check out other VR games. Regarding graphics, yeah they always take a bit of a hit in VR. The game has to render two different viewpoints at higher resolutions and framerates than flat games, so elements of the visuals have to be cut back for the games to run well in VR. The PSVR 2's dynamic foveated rendering helps limit the visual compromises, as does a technique called reprojection (where they artificially double the framerate from 60 fps to 120 fps), but the graphics will always be somewhat worse than flat games. That said, I think the visual compromises are more than worth it for the enhanced sense of presence and immersion.

The VR experience is really hard to demonstrate to anyone who hasn't tried it yet. Most gamers watching VR captured video would probably say, "what's the big deal?" and the captured videos are wobbly all the time too. So the presentation of VR on UA-cam is actually worse than a standard flatscreen game. VR is not for everyone, but if you can deal with the immersion, it's truly something else. I started VR in 2019 and never played a single flatscreen game since then.

Its nice to see new peoples reaction, thanks for posting. There are so many wow games on psve2 and have spent 100’s of hours in it, now I prefer being in the game rather than looking at the game. Even better I can't build a pc over time and have Endless library.
