I just bought an old Roadstar (silver Add) Its an older 1600, but I assume (minus the couple HP) they are very closely related. Its been cold a rainy for the first few days, but already compared to my last FXDWG and the 1100 VStar before that, this is a torque monster (based on a trip into the trailer and up my Drive). 2003 garaged one owner 13k Very clean (After 20-30 hours of disassembly and rubbing). . Cant wait.
Magnificent Magna ❤
Your dog seems really sweet ❤. Cool bike dude!
Nice review. Very comprehensive. I’m a newbie looking for my 1st bike 😮
I had one loved it. This bike will wheelie too. My first bike was yamaha seca 750. This was my fourth
What u have to loosen them side bolts for?
those are similar but I do not think those are the original bars, they seem to be very wide.
Just bought an 04 road star bagger. Idk if ill keep it a bagger but for now i like it.
Get yourself a pair of leather riding gloves. Remember if you go down, your natural instinct is to catch yourself. At that point your hands become road crayons. I have seen it twice and it is not pretty. No flesh on the palms. And I do not want to hear that I do not plan on going down. You never do, that is why it is called an accident.
Dude where’d you get the red protector plate that’s so 🔥
Bro please do you think you could FaceTime me one day and help me with my pit bike just installed a new engine. Don’t know how to do the wiring. It should be really simple to someone that knows what they’re doing.
Sweet bike. That idle sounds way too low though.
The reason for the power is cuz of four cylinders. Completely different than a twin.
Once you get used to a quad, you can never be happy with a twin
Si el tapón de purga ya está muy dañado y no sale, por dónde más se puede purgar?
Bending it twice surely made it weaker. Hopefully noone you love winds up losing a limb or a life when that snaps off on the road and causes an accident. Worse off, if you sell that to some unfortunate person and they crash, you gotta live with that because you were too cheap to fix it properly or build some new pegs yourself. I do some sketchy shit but this is crazy. You just posted this for views tho, yeah?
Just bought a 2004 bagger road star 1700. 2nd owner 26k for roughly what you were asking for urs. ..idk if ill keep it a bagger but like the big ole chugger. My Harley buddy's don't turn their nose up at it........too much. 😅😅
Dude. Film in landscape for the love of god.
@@CJBMAGGOT94 yup I always film in landscape lol I’m guessing ya haven’t seen any of my other videos. This one was an early one and there is no way to convert it without losing most of the image so I’ve decided to leave it in its original quality. Enjoy!
Do u recommend this bike or is it bad??
Hi. Did u sell it?
Over 98k on my 03...all bikes need windsheilds fot the hwy...& a backrest/rack for long trips
The stock bars on my 06 are like something you'd find on a snow blower or garden tiller LOL just pure crap for riding, now I have drag bars and risers like a proper bike, were those corked or uncorked Cobra's?
Ripping the stock exhaust without flashing ECU causing lost in low end torque and top end power, because of the EFI system is to simple and can't adopt flow change.
I’ve owned my ‘94 since 2007 and it had 21000 miles on it. It now has over 53,000 miles on it and has been to Daytona beech, and the Dragon. It was all black when bought in stock form. I changed the color to Corvette 50 th anniversary Ruby red tri- coat with new Magna logos embedded in the clear as the original. I also painted the engine faux air fins to match along with the inside of the wheels after polishing them to a high gloss. I’ve added a Mustang seat and saddlebags along with a windshield. I too pulled the carbs and added a Dave Dodge carb kit to get rid of the midrange flat spot in throttle response. That really worked! I also removed the yellowed clear coat from the front forks and then polished them as well. I also replaced the front brake hose with a stainless steel one and that improved my braking. I have yet to find an other bike to replace it with. I also have a Honda CTX1300A for long hauls, I still prefer the Magna for back road fun. I’ve blown a few Harleys off the road as well, along with a VTX1800. The third gen Magna is a Great bike to have and ride. Only issue I’ve had was the voltage regulator/ rectifier died due to age. I use only full synthetic oil in mine. She is definitely a keeper. I’ve never owned a bike as long as this one before. Just can’t find something that fits me better and performs better than the Magna.

I like them without the sissy. And also in the Vaquero trim. Very cool bike.
I had a Vulcan 800 awhile back. It's a mean bike for only being an 800. And she revs a long way for being a V twin. Had Vance and Hines straight shots on mine. Was a nice little ripper.
Thats a totally different bike than the 80s models
@@dco956 that’s for sure!
How is no coolant coming out of that bleeder hole with the bolt out?...
Vacuum petcocks can also cause this to happen
It's always a relief when you figure it out,..... but even better because it didn't cost you anything !
@@maakatipa4613 💯 exactly!!
Sounds like hot for teacher, sweet.
I just picked up one just like this 2005.Got laid down going in a rest area.Broke clutch handle but he limped on home with it..Had some 12inch apes that saved the tank and crash bars .They looked like they took the impact mostly..He just put new dunlop on rear new brakes oil change..Cant wait to get clutch handle because moving this monster done wrenched my back..lol..Its scratched up and needs blinkers but someone took care of it..38k..picked up a set of 2017 harley heritage 10 inch apes like brand new for 10 bucks..i no 10 bucks..Older guy off MP..anyhow wished mine was this clean but im happy as this guy ..😂 Enjoyed..
Mine doesn't make that noise
I have a 2007 model and I still am impressed with the torque in 5th gear, if you need to pass just twist the grip you do not have to down shift. My friend just traded in a 2005 Silverado with 185,000 trouble free miles.
I had a 2000 Roadstar, looked exactly like this. Great bike.
Been sitting too long, the float for stuck, and the fuel was not shut off, the fuel in the carburetor went bad and caused the float to stick in an open position.
Nice bike, i also have a 05 gen1. You have stock mufflers but made shorter;) it really comes alive from 6k rpm, addictive isnt it?
Where do u live sir. I'm in fla. Looking for a second bike

Looks like Blue Diamond; LV, NV. 😎
Erik, do you think $2600 for a 2k mile 2009 is good? It’s in great shape. Same color, new windshield and saddlebags.
I bought my 04 in 05 as a leftover, It has served me well. I did need to replace the stator, fuel gage sending unit and the sub frame under the rear fender and had to rebuild the clutch.
I have owned mine since 97, same colors. Have Memphis shades wind shield clear to red. Great bike.
Thomas Shirley Harris Lisa Lewis Barbara
I picked up a 94 with only 6,600 miles a few months back. I love how it looks and rides but all the wind at higher speeds for long distances does make it less enjoyable tho. Ive been looking at windshields but like you said, hate the way it looks on it.
Streetshield looks good...its medium sport size....does good job
Ah man, the original FCR carb is hard to find as well, the one on mine I swear is so hard to find any parts for at all. and dialing the accelerator pump was terrible. Wish I could have bought this from you though.
@@Dirt_Serpent for sure I pretty much would’ve had to find a local guy with the Parts bike or else. eBay is the only option haha.
@@MotorheadLars yeah then even if you find the carb on eBay it’s most likely a parts carb lol 😂
@@Dirt_Serpent exactly. Gotta watch out for the notorious hole corroded in the top of the float to mid body and pray the guy selling it inspected it well lol
@@MotorheadLars haha yeah that’s true!
nice review. picking one up this month:)
How it is?
Like your shirt 🎉
Lovely bike, I think I want one 👍
