As long as it’s the 3.5 V6 in the 2015 then they are the same exact engine and very little difference when it comes to working on it.

I have not personally tried that radio but it’s worked on all NEX models I’ve tried.

Was this after replacing the blend door actuator?

@@diydevin i didn’t replace this part because it was still working, the blend actuator will rotate as I switch from cold to hot on the knob on the dash.

It’s likely still the blend door actuator that needs to be replaced. I had an f150 last year that was doing the same thing your truck is doing now. The blend door actuator moved with the nob but was still not fully functional. Once I swapped the blend door actuator it fixed the issue.

@@diydevin i think it might be different problems. My blend door actuator still lets me get hot and cold air. I thought this was the actuator for the defrost and front vents, but that is another part that works through a vacuum line.

After thousands of success stories from this method; as well as doing many myself both ways. This method when done correctly is easier. Sorry you feel otherwise.

Will this same technique work with a 2015 edge??

Sometimes it takes a few tries, try in a few different spots. Let me know if you’re still having issues.

There should be a little tab on the back of the sensor that you push down and then you can pull out the connection. If for some reason it broke off a mini screw driver will help get it off.

It has worked for every NEX I have currently tried. I have not personally tried that one but I would think it would work.

There should be more than one cable, one of them is for power. The one I unplug is only for a sensor. How long have you had your desk?

I've had the desk for 5 months. There's a power cord, an 8pin plug and this little plug you showed.

@@Stridermdthat is very interesting, I’m wondering if it’s having a power issue. I would contact Costco and see if you could get a refund and get a new desk. They should last at least 2 years before having any issue.

E3 is probably a sensor error. Inspect all the plugs and make sure they are plugged in and plugged in correctly.

I honestly think the legs were jammed preventing the desk to lower from the Top position

@@karbs76 I don’t blame you, that’s what I would have done.

E4 error usually means the desk has too much weight on it., or a leg is bent or out of place just enough that it’s putting extra strain on the motor.

It has personally worked on every pioneer radio I have tried it on. But most have been NEX models.

@@diydevinI’ve been using the Kirkland brand oil as well as the SuperTech. Both of these have worked well in my cars. They have the API and ILSAC specifications, so they work just as well as the “big boys”.

One will power off the desk, the one that looks like an AUX cord is just a sensor.

How long ago did you get the desk; and was it from Costco?

@@diydevin it’s been about two weeks since purchased, I actually found a fix for it on Reddit. Holding the up button and h3 together for eight seconds then it puts it self back to the lowest height setting, that worked for all of ten minutes until I tried to personalize the height setting back to what I had them at and the bot(bottom) error occurred again. It’s currently at a good sitting height for me but I’ve just decided to unplug it for know and not touch it. If you have any idea how to solve thins please share, but if not that’s alright. :)

@@allisonevers04 Okay thats the brand new desk then. It has a slightly different layout than this one. If it was me I would go get a new one and return the current one you have. Usually these desks last 2-3 years before they start to have issues.

I did not, but I also had it up on ramps so there is a possibility it went to the back of the pan. Either way it shouldn’t leak out very much. I would just put a drip pan under the edge if you’re worried.

I’m sorry you feel that way. If you locate your oil cap then you should be able to follow along. In most of the shots you can see the oil cap; and when I go down into the engine bay you can see it right before I put the camera down lower.

If you can’t tell he was working right next to the oil dipstick then you probably shouldn’t be attempting to work on anything

I have not personally tried it but after this video being up for a while there are only a handful that have not worked. Most of the radios I have tried have been the NEX models by pioneer.

I’m sorry you’re having this issue. I haven’t personally tried that radio but out of all the pioneer radios I have tried it’s worked. Do you have the parking brake wire hooked up at all?

I have a bypass unit physically installed that connects to the parking brake wire and that worked for a few weeks but I think the head unit GPS calibrated and started working and now the bypass unit no longer works and IU just tried that procedure 10 more times and it still never displays the 'SET ON' message. It seams like if i go over 5 miles an hour the bypass no longer works. Still looking for a solution. Thank you for your replay.

@@MarkDamore I would try to factory reset the unit and try again. It sounds like something is off. My bud who has that truck in the video said he can go on the freeway and it still works.

It should be at the bottom of the home screen. if it’s not; your radio might not be compatible.

@diydevin found it but I don't think this works with mine, I actually cut the wire abit short last night thinking I didn't realise it do anything with it connected to ground but now that I have it connected I can see alot of features are blanked out, looks like stereo will probably have to come out so I can fix the wire again.

I have personally not tried android auto, but I would think it does since it’s just allowing you to do things as if your parked and have the parking brake applied.

@@jimgosethis allows you to bypass the parking brake wire completely. You could still ground it if you really wanted.

​@@diydevinHmmm.. because literally nothing pops up on the display when I press the lower left corner of it for ten - fifteen seconds. I thought it may have been because the wire wasn't grounded or used.

If I remember correctly I stood about the middle of the car with my hip against the bumper then with my palm facing the engine I put my hand down and back; then pushed the sensor clip with my thumb and then pulled it out. I can palm a basketball if that helps judge what size my hands are.

It should be an actuator for a manual temperature control.

It’s bypassing the parking brake wire. Usually you have to apply the parking brake to watch anything on the radio.

Yes and no, figure out what way the air is blowing, for example if it’s blowing at just your feet put the dial to the feet setting and then install the blend door actuator.

I’m sorry to hear that, you can try a parking brake bypass wiring kit. I got one a few years back on eBay.

What did you do for the park brake wire

I grounded it; connected it to the black wire coming out of the radio.

Yes that could very easily be the case. If the blend door actuator isn’t closing or opening properly then you can have inconsistent temperature through the vents.
