DIY Auto Channel
Приєднався 11 тра 2013
Hello everyone, I made this channel to provide you videos with on how to do things yourself with your cars. I will upload a video every time I work on one of my cars that I think is worth a video and will help you out. I have 5 cars and they are a 1999 Lincoln Town Car Executive, 2000 Nissan Maxima, 2003 Ford Windstar, 2012 Toyota Corolla Sport, and a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. If you Have Any Questions on how to do something on one of my 5 cars, or any other car I would be glad to help!
DIY: How To Oil Change a 2009 - 2014 Toyota Corolla
In this video I will be showing you how to oil change a 2009, 2010, 2011 2012, 2013, and 2014 Toyota Corolla. All with the 1.8L 4 cylinder engine, it's the same job. Always remember to properly jack up and secure your vehicle on a level surface when working underneath a car! The engine needs about 4.4Q or 4.16L.
It might be cheaper to go to a mechanic for an oil change, but I like to use quality oil in my engine. Go to Walmart and get some or order it online if you can, they have very fair prices. If you go to any parts store they will usually overcharge you for the oil.
The oil I use: Castrol Edge 0W-20 Synthetic (black 5 quart jug from Walmart is about $22-25).
The filter I use: Fram CH10358 (they have different kinds, but any kind with this number 10358 will work. It cost $9 from Walmart).
To find out what weight oil to use in your car, just look at the engine oil cap or the user manual booklet the comes with the car.

DIY: How to replace an alternator on a Lincoln Town Car
Переглядів 25 тис.11 років тому
This is my 1999 Lincoln Town Car and this is how you replace the alternator(same thing on a Ford Crown Victoria ) . Also, remember to check that the belt is on the pulleys completely and isn't falling off after you pull the tensioner with your 1/2 inch wrench. If you have any question just message me. Don't forget to subscribe for more videos. Thanks for watching!
Thank you
After reading comments, im soooo glad im not the only one having a hard time with the back ones. Those took me forever. My dad watched me sweat it out trying. He'd show me a trick, id try, and succeed or fail again. But man. Especially under the throttle cables. Gotta retighten those when done. Now hes passed and im alone. Sure hope i can get them.
Soo nobody going to show the back 😂😂
That’s was awesome thank you
Thanks so much for this
Is the first ignition coil you took out considered the misfire 1 if it messes up?
Thank you for this
Thank you so much!!!! This is so helpful
People won't show a video and the hell they caught doing the back three. It can be done with the right tools but it will be time consuming 😂
Lmfao “just throw the new spark plug in the”
smh why didnt you finish the job with rear thats why most of these nissans have a misfire and have issues because yall dont te tune up waste of peoples times
How much oil did you put into and the engine is 1.8
Good video. Don’t drop the spark plug like that 😂😂😂😂. Be gentle
Why didn't you just keep screwing the bolt in till you stripped it? It's not a sin or even weakness to just take it out and let us see you start it over. You may have some real newbie who thinks they can just keep forcing it. You showed nothing about the belt replacement or loosing and tightening the old belt. Didn't mention disconnecting the battery first. 🤔
Great, but you forgot to say how many quarts of oil to pour in.
By any chance the wires to the driver side window can you send a picture
Cleanest fucking max ever I’m so jealous
since i see you working on this car, what you say is worth buying?
dont you need lube? or nah?
not bad
Everyone under me saying good video is stupid hes an idiot youtube should delete
Idiot
Nobody ever does the back ones which is always what im looking for
Excellent Information Thank you for sharing 👊👊👊👊👊
Hello aren't you going to check the spark plug gap. And don't just drop the spark plug like that you will mess up the gap.
3.5 process the same but u need to lift the intake
No gap specs, just throw your sparkplug in there. This is the worst video ever...EVERRRR!!!!
👍🐦🐦🐦🔫💣🔫
You only changed the front 3 spark plugs.... the car is a V6 there are three more spark plugs to change
Per instructions on the box for the OEM Toyota oil filter, Toyota says not to use a pick or screwdriver to remove the old o-rings. See this one minute video... m.ua-cam.com/video/a0D_vGFgLD8/v-deo.html
Could you please link oil wrench cup. To buy it Just i need to know the size
The size is 64mm 14 flute. You find them on Amazon, just make sure it works for 1.8 L engine
Hahaha the drop got me like 🤣🤣🤣
I bring my synthetic oil to a mechanic thry charge $10. They also fill windshield fluid, brake and power steering fluids, and coolant. It would cost me more to buy all those things than letting them do it for $10 plus tip
Nah bro i needa see you take out the back ones that shit damn near impossible
Can somome please tell me size of oil wrench cap for the oil filter. Is it 88mm?
This video was way better than other one's that I seen its well explained 👏
Watching your video, your oil filter cap wrench seemed to be snug but watching in slow motion it didn't look like the teeth on the wrench were engaged with the tabs on the oil filter cap. Is that possible? Possibly it is the wrong oil filter cap wrench which explains why you removed the retaining clip before removing the oil filter cap. With the proper size wrench there is no need to remove the retaining clip. Other videos where retaining clip was not removed... ua-cam.com/video/ZmTlIpU2ZyE/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/vCmzGvJLhFY/v-deo.html Also instructions that come with the OEM Toyota oil filter say not to use a pick or screwdriver to remove the o-rings. Demonstration how to us here... m.ua-cam.com/video/xa60-oJpyXk/v-deo.html
Saved me a lot of time 👍
5 w 30 synthetic recommended in my country and every 10000 kilometres, miles wtf??..you have to ask my grandfather what the hell they are, sheesh what century is it where you are?
There are a lot of old dogs in America that are unable to learn anything new.
I wouldn't recommend this video to anyone.
Horrible demo! You should really take it off first!
Awesome vid! Thanks😎
This is only video I've seen mention that lock on the filter housing. My 2015 Venza has it .. thank you so much
When my 2002 Maxima starts it runs for a mile or two or when motor heats up then stalls. After 10 mins it starts and drives another mile and stalls out Any answers why? Thanks.
Transmission speed sensor
Excellent instructional
@Joe Quinn, owners manual also states u can use either or oil types
It takes a special kind of idiot to "just drop the spark plug in there".
If the pin breaks do you need to replace it!???
Engine 1.6 valvematic?
Very helpful. Thanks for making that.
