First proper drive in the Stage 2 GTI with a Cobra Turbo Back exhaust and Revo cold air intake. Tuned by R-Tech Performance - it's got 5 different maps in can run at. Such a big difference compared to the stock system, and paired with the Intake sounds, just changes the whole experience of driving this beast. More like slush really :/ But thought I'd see how the GTI would fair in this weather. Still completely stock engine wise, 200bhp still slipping up in these conditions on Yokohama's. Fixing the MK5 GTI | Common Problems

Fixing a few problems on the GTI that are fairly common, i.e. new PCV, Mass Air Flow Sensor - could have been a vaccum leak, but it seems to have solved the problem for now. are the pops and crackles really that loud? because when i test droven it they were not loud at all
Couple of notes. 1: this car does not compete with any gti or even S3 I felt like they were over referenced. 2: the looks aren’t great but the worst part of the car wasn’t even mentioned, the weight. It really is far too close to being an m3/m4 both in the fact that it uses the same powertrain, and in the fact that they are far closer in weight and dimensions.
What do you do for a living? Such a nice car

Thanks mate. Great insight on an iconic drivers car. Any advice on what to look out for when buying an Mk 6 in 2024? Naysayers have grumblings about Dsg transmission and timer among others. Would appreciate any insight to aid my cause.
I guess check the obvious stuff, service history, MOT history, see what's popped up on there in the past. If the water pump or thermostat have been changed. Check for any signs of rust, particularly on the rear axle. See how it drives, get a feel for the seller as well. Check if it's had a DSG oil service. If there's any clunking or vibrations on idle or with gear shifts, could be issues with the flywheel etc. Other than that, they're generally solid cars if they've been looked after, just keep looking until you find a clean example.

The Mk 8 engine wise its a big Yes but it looks its Bad and cheap in my opinion , i still love the Mk 5 /6/7.5 .Great video >you got a new sub !!!!!

Yeah I never thought it'd make those sounds either tbh!?
When you put in your GFB dv+ did the intake noises increase or decrease ? Mine decreased only flutters on high gears with low rpm acceleration
I'm not sure tbh because I did all of the work around the same time, so not sure if the gdb actually made it louder or not. Overall I was happy with the sound after it though.
did you have to replace the clutch for the tune? if so what kit did you use and how much did u pay? thanks
No I left the clutch stock, it can handle Stage 2 for a while... but probably best to get it replaced at some point lol

No didn't notice anything like that at all
how long did your oem clutch last at stage 2?
It lasted quite a while, then it just started to slip. I would've upgraded it, but I ended up selling before I had a chance.

120k miles approx. Fuel economy wasn't actually too bad, maybe around 30mpg

how did you get that turbo chatter? my cars stage 2 from rtech 270bhp 435nm of torque, decat direnza catback exhaust intake r8 coil packs etc, but i need that turbo chatter in my life😂

Yeahh technically it's illegal, it would fail an MOT for emissions reasons

It's on 118,000 miles roughly, and yes I'm sure you can. I know cobra operate in the US, just need to find a dealer near you that stocks them 👍🏼
