I watched Downton Abby when it was playing for the first time. Then I bought the DVD of the first season, then the same for the second season... so on and so forth; I bought the whole darn amazing series each time a new one came out, then bought an extended version with all the extra tidbits, deleted scenes, and whatnot. Then I bought more when the first film came out and then the second one. Apparently, they have a third film in the making. Of Course, I went to Highclere Castle, I'm Canadian from Montreal, and I also bought the book on how Almina Wombell saved Highclere Castle, which also tells us that her husband Lord Carnavon, with the funds from Almina, made it possible to discover Tutankamon tomb. Almina was the illegitimate child of Alfred De Rothschild. At the time of their wedding, Alfred gave Lord Carnavon FIVE million (in real actual 1895 funds.) Then, a few months later, she asked again for more money, and Alfred gave her eight million more. When Alfred died, she was the only beneficiary of his will. It was an immense fortune but Almina was not someone spending her fortune on frivolities, she made it very good around her.

I've loved Elizabeth McGovern since She's Having A Baby! ❤ Downton Abbey is such a wonderful series! I'm glad they were all honored by the BAFTA's.

Downtown Abbey was definitely the best series I have ever watched! I have watched the series over and over many times. Loved the 1st movie and can't wait to see the 2nd one!!

I really dont like when the voice over said, PLENTY OF SEX!! SEX before marriage!! Like, SEX is the major issue and as if it will be displayed abundantly in this series...while in reality...THIS SHOW IS THE MOST DESCENT DESPITE ALL THE controversial ISSUES PORTRAYED like rape, homosexuality, divorce, adulteries, deceits and many others.... They were told delicately in a manner where it can be watched by all age group, without showcasing anything vulgar and inappropriate.Which i think, Hollywood can hardly do.

Those foreign dubs are something else tho. I myself only speak English but when watching foreign films or shows I much prefer subtitles vs dubs. To each their own tho

I binge watched the full 6 series in a week!! Was nearly put off in the 1st episode as I remember Mama ironing The Times for Papa every morning! Gorgeous switch off!
