Building a fairytale flower photoshoot
Come along as I build an autumnal installation on my flower farm for a magical sunset photoshoot! I collaborated with my childhood friend (and talented photographer) JanaLyn Photography to make something beautiful and ethereal this fall in my forest! I'm sharing all the steps from picking the location for the floral installation, harvesting my ingredients, how I built the floral arrangements in my woods, decisions made on the fly, florist tips and tricks, and the photoshoot itself! This farmer florist hopes you not only enjoy learning some floral design techniques for how to make an installation; but that you enjoy seeing the finished photos from our floral collaboration and that they bring beauty and a sense of magic to your day!

This is one way I make market bouquets for my community on my cut flower farm. This video includes the ingredien...

I love greenery like you do! It definitely elevates a bouquet. I was wondering what variety of tomatillo do you use and where do you get the seeds? Thank you!
I’m excited to try this technique thank you 😊
Beautiful 🌸💕. What is the name of the small yellow filler flower ?
Thank you!!!🌸
Stunning! As always I appreciate the practical tips seamlessly infused with the beauty of your work

You did an amazing job, it looks gorgeous. I love how the light comes through the center of the trees, along the pathway and shines on the flowers and children. They look like the little angels that they are. It really feels enchanted ❤ English is not my native language so i hope you understand what i'm trying to say. I love your videos and appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge❤ You're such an inspiration ♥ Thank you for all you do. ❤

Yesssss! Thank you Tina! 💫💖
So sweet and beautiful! Such talent with you two ladies
Thanks so much, Terry! 🤍
Omg, sod the flowers thing, as a mum, you must be thrilled to capture those girls in the moment. The flowers do also look awesome, so worth getting a photographer in, I m off to talk to my local college media department. splendid job there all round. much love from UK, Somerset
Thank you! And you hit the nail on the head - the photos of my little girl are a major bonus (and what will ultimately be the most treasured by me as time goes on). I only wish I’d thought to bring my boys in for a few snaps! Next time! 💖💖
@@floristsonfarms well there's an excuse to set up another shoot, do it before they get all self conscious or too cool for school. As an older women with a grown up boy I can not recommend enough that you get some really good shots when they are little, they grow up so quick. I love the styling you went for too, simple, pale block colour dresses.
Gorgeous!!
Thank you Laura! 💖
Your installation was beautiful & the pictures were magical! Simply stunning work!
Thank you so much! I’m so pleased to hear that our work was successful and we were able to share a little magic with you! 💖
Magical indeed! Stunningly gorgeous photos - the floral design so intricate! Brava!
Thank you, Rosemary! So glad you found beauty in what we made 💖
You worked so hard and it paid off, those pictures made me emotional, they were so beautiful

Just this one, I was too busy in spring season to do harvest videos 🤣 Growing tulips in crates l Critter prevention and crop update! ua-cam.com/video/x78TDXJHork/v-deo.html
Selling Q? Who do you sell to? Subscriptions or farm stand.. Etc. ?
Hey! I’m exclusively preorder deluxe items and then some market bouquets on my Flower Stand :)
Thank you! How deep does the tulip need in a crate?
Depends how you’re growing. Commercial style is just barely covered as we did here
love it
💖💖💖
What’s the name of the red dahlia from your hoop house?
I have a few but I think you’re probably seeing the red ball dahlia? That one is Cornel
PERFECT!!!
💖💖
Thank you! I have a few more blooms left and am eager to try your technique out!
Awesome! I have dahlias hanging on now but not much else really!
I've stayed away from dahlias so far because of the short vase life, but now you've got me considering them. 🤔
Definitely look at ball dahlias then! They are so much more damage resistant too!
Very helpful. Your bouquets are beautiful as usual. I love using the center of echinacea in bouquets.
Echinacea is one of the best things about fall!
Such a well made video with great advice, and your bouquets are beautiful.
Glad it was helpful!
Your wreaths are beautiful.
Thank you! 💖

So informative! I’m going to try bulbs for cut flowers this year in bouquets and i was wondering if you just use tulips or any foliage or filler or is it too early? 🌷
I do it both ways, it depends if I’m selling bouquets or just bunches 😄
Love your channel! I just discovered it recently. May I ask where you buy all your various flower seeds from?
Welcome! Glad you’re here! I have sourced seed from local gardeners, William Dam Seeds, Incredible Seeds, West Coast Seeds…
Are your tomatillo greens from a tomatillo tomato plant? Or has it another name?
They are actual Tomatillos, not a type of a Tomato 😄
Excellent info..and such beautiful bouquets..thank you!
You are so welcome!
Bouquet making probably took me 3 times longer than necessary because my table was not organized and I felt like I just kept making circles grabbing at flowers. Next year I will definitely work on the "recipe" method so I know exactly what I have to grab. Thank you for the lesson, it was very useful!
Yay! It’s alllll about finding efficient workflows! 🙌🏻
