Gardening part 5 - quick update on how it’s going
Quick free roam showing multiple line options. Kyosho v Axial SCX Bronco, Jeep and Chevrolet C10
Переглядів 5552 роки тому
Four cars driving helps but still just a small insight into how many line options this course really offers. Kyosho is modded to the moon and back. Absolute beast but needs a servo upgrade. Jeep has aluminium bead lock wheels. C10 and Bronco currently stock.
4 player game of hide and seek / TAG. Definitely some cheating going on 🤣

It’s so much fun playing this 🤣 maybe not the best crawling but you’ve got to act daft every now and again.

Last night we started adding some grasses, bushes and some colour to the course. We don’t know what we’re doing so fingers crossed it ends up looking ok 🤷‍♂️

How to make a small 1/24 rock crawler table
Переглядів 1,1 тис.2 роки тому
Made this for my dad as a Christmas present. It’s actually how I got into crawling by falling in love with the fun of 1/24 crawling. It comes with legs so you can crawl at table height or lay it on the floor. New driving video coming soon.

Having to pass our handset to Scott was getting old…as is he. We decided to get home his own crawler for his 40th birthday. Awesome night of driving!!
Testing the bead lock YEAH RACING five spoke wheels. Axial SCX24

Near flawless drive testing the wheels from our mini z on the SCX24. As you can see from the thumbnail, the upgrade has been fitted.
Full course.. Test build underneath the main course plus real rocks.
Переглядів 1,3 тис.2 роки тому
An unfinished, bodged together test piece made from cardboard and expanding foam. Had fun testing our ability to add some greenery... average at best. New build options above the course but how we integrate the new entry and exit points without ruining old lines is tricky. Ideas in the comments please

    Totally amazing and very lifelike course. Mine is huge and wild AF at this point. It looks like a Fear and Loathing Fever Dream but its fun and super challenging.

    For tips working with foam and expanding foam and running water features check out Serpa Designs channel. Tanner has been working with the stuff for years and has great how to videos! Edit he does terrariums and bioactive enclosures but he's great at making the look natural. Awesome job though!

    At first I was like, hey a bearded dragon enclosure! I have been pondering making a dual purpose enclosure for a dragon and to drive around. Very cool work.

    What's the 'smoother' your refer to? Is it a plaster or drywall joint compound? Or product specifically used in model making with Styrofoam? Thanks!

    • @mudpuddlesandheadwinds2204
      @mudpuddlesandheadwinds2204 2 роки тому

      It’s an indoor wall filler for plasterboard. DIY not for model making. It’s thinner/ more watery than the normal wall filler. It helps to fill the gaps from the filler and gets rid of the really rough edges. We started using our fingers until they bled. Eventually we slapped it on with paint brushes and then used our fingers to get a nicer finish without making our fingers bleed 🤦🏼‍♂️ USE A BRUSH!! 🤣

    • @wingnutbert9685
      @wingnutbert9685 2 роки тому

      @@mudpuddlesandheadwinds2204 Thanks! Sounds like what we'd call Drywall compound or Drywall 'Mud'. Must be more durable than plaster of paris like some use on their plaster cloth courses. That stuff is pretty brittle.

    • @mudpuddlesandheadwinds2204
      @mudpuddlesandheadwinds2204 2 роки тому

      Every now and again the Kyosho needs a little shake but more when a larger bit of grit stops the steering and not bearing. No bearings replaced so far 👍

    Not that it needs it but (and I forget the name of the company that makes them) but there's mini bushes and trees and stuff used for dioramas that would be the icing on the cake for this course. To add one more level of excellence.

    Totally awesome build. It reminds me of the rock work on super high end swimming pools where it takes forever to find anyone talented enough to accomplish this type of work. It would be real cool if you added a waterfall but that's easy for me to say sitting here in my chair admiring this beautiful terraform marvel. Great job 💯👍
