Why OG Fortnite Shouldn't Return…
Fortnite OG season was honestly one of the best experiences I've had regarding video games. But I'm happy it ended.
(sorry about the lack of polish of this video, i wanted to get it out before the Big Bang live event)

This video is about the realism of Red Dead Redemption's NPCs and how it influences the player. (Video contains spoilers and gameplay from Red Dead Redemption 2) Background Music Credit in Sequential Order: Super Mario Odyssey - Cascade Kingdom Red Dead Redemption 2 - Quiet Time Red Dead Redemption 2 - House Building Theme Undertale - An Ending Red Dead Redemption 2 - Mountain Banjo Red Dead Re...
Nice point you made there. Unfortunately, you're all npcs in my story.
I think towards the end of the video explaining the point of RDR2 story and mentioning the whole TikTok trend is literally why I adore RDR2 so much. You earned sub brother
I started a low honor playthrough a bit ago and STILL went out of my way to help random folks. I've been keeping my honor low through theft and...that's about it.
5:34 not actually if you did the classic pistol aimed white is dead strat you could see that he has a red crosshair meaning he is alive, then I shot him.
I think you brilliantly broke the game down and i love your view analyzing the story and characters thank you for the video man
well said but this video couldve been like a fourth of its length lol
but then where's the ad revenue and pretentiousness in that?
@@Mayfrogo good point lol
"I fricking love Red Dead Redemption 2" Put that on my gravestone
I remember one time I was messing around with mods and I spawned like a bunch of gators and cougars in Saint Denis to see what would happen. After a long time of flying around the map messing around some more, I came back to the city and all the animals loaded back in. I feel like the persistence does a shitton in making everything feel more alive
i hate it when my local city is flooded with gators and cougars
1:27 Red Dererrention 3:12 6:33 7:02
13:32 nah I gotta know if the dog is ok
i think the dude returned the dog shortly afterwards, still messed up tho
That's such a good parallel. Dutch is a bit like Andrew Tate. Saying to young guys like Arthur and John that they are fighting against the system/rest of civilisation. That there is some sort of greater meaning. But really all Dutch and Andrew really care about is themselves and money.
con men like Dutch seem more and more popular these days
"Red deredetion"
BOAH
I get the sonder thing, I always like to imagine the other gang members going off completing their own separate stranger side quests, whether they be honourable or not. I mean, Dutch even mentions he went fishing with that guy who was going to give them the fishing boat to get to Bronte, and he's always mentioning the people he knows, I'm sure Dutch was as prolific with side quests as Arthur was
I remember during my first playthrough where I was surprised that the npcs said stuff like “havent you caused enough trouble here” and this was after I got the schofield revolver in valentine. This alone and the other stuff you mentioned especially the honor system made me think twice about pulling the trigger. When I first did a train robbery, I was considering killing everyone but then I realized that everyone has lives of their own and that they never expected to get robbed. But what truly broke my heart was the final debt collection mission for strauss. The mother and her child absolutely broke me and I did not hesitate to give them money. Truly the greatest open world story game of all time.
serving čunþ perchance😢💅🏻
They had experience from gta 4
And then there was reload.
reload is... questionable in my opinion
@@Mayfrogo yeah lol
this game make me question my morals decisions lol why is a game doing this it's too perfect lol
3:30 i couldnt agree more i accedently choked and punched this guy (i wanted to get on my horse with E but looked at him so i robbed him or smth) and some days after he said "please dont punch me again" that was just crazy to me
I think you left out the way the game even makes you feel empathy for the animals you kill. Great look at how immersive this game is. Nicely done video.
i originally had a part about how even your horse dying is a big emotional moment but sadly had to cut it for pacing. Making the player sympathize with animals is something many games do but Red dead 2 makes me want to go vegan lol
''nPc ReALIsM'' > Bumps Shoulders Getting Shot > Make a Bad Joke Getting Shot > Bumps Shoulders Slightly Harder Bounty > Shoots one Guy up in the Mountains Ghosts Report Your Crimes > Gets Challenged For a Duel Bounty > Disarm opponent Second, Third and Fourth Gun appears out of nowhere > Wearing a Mask Everybody has X-Ray vision
it is still a rockstar game…
Beautifully reviewed
Can’t wait for gta 6 npcs
If you’re a real og player, just play save the world. It’s practically the exact same as it was 7 years ago. It’s what I have been doing
glad to see they’re actually (very recently as of this comment) pushing save the world again
This is like the BEST 2nd video from a yt channel
I’ve never been able to do an evil playthrough in any game that I play, I always felt too guilty. Sometimes I’d start an evil playthrough and then it would just end up with me going back to being the good guy. And in games like Baldurs Gate where some NPCs will die if you don’t intervene in time, I get genuinely upset with myself that I wasn’t fast enough
I killed 2 bounty hunters and a npc came riding by. To avoid him witnessing a murder i put on the bandanna.. although he didnt turn into a witness, he said 'hiding your face aint helping, i saw what youve done'. I was shocked at the detail.
at 5:35, he actually doesn’t drop dead, because if you aim the gun at him, the crosshair is still red meaning hes alive, and the loot is random
RD2 really frustrated me at first, because I had never played a game before where an NPC turned hostile because I was looking at them with a weapon equipped. once I figured a few things out, I was hooked and played the game to damn near 100% One of the view games that makes it into the GOAT list along with ff7 bioshock and Morrowind
Wearing a mask in town people start harassing you?
they just kind of question you as to why you’re hiding your face
I believe that Arthur at the first 2 chapters was first a bad man. how the "player" fits in this perspective, is that "arthur" just decided to forget everything and said "fuck it" and I believe that Arthur have Dissociative identity disorder, that fits how the "player" is in this situation. us the "player" is Arthur's "mental disorder" Edited: take a look at this, this explains Arthurs actions as "the player:" Impaired sense of self and identity or identity confusion Feeling disappointed and useless with no reason at all Feeling disconnected from the world and people around them Loss of memory or amnesia and memory lapses regarding personal information, people or events Emotional numbness Distorted and inaccurate perceptions regarding people, things and places Difficulty with emotional regulation Inability to cope with stress Out-of-body experiences, depersonalization or derealization Struggling with mental illness like anxiety, depression & suicidality Feeling no or little physical pain Unexpected and sudden mood swings and changes in behavior Difficulty concentrating Experiencing distinct and multiple identities Problems in relationships, career and personal life. the reason on why he has a journal, is to make "him" or "the player" remember what have happened.
this is very interesting… though idk if id personally interpret red dead 2 like that it’s a super interesting topic. i believe Deltarule goes deep into that kind of player / character stuff
fun fact: when you are covered in human or animal blood as arthur or John the npc’s will actually question if that’s animal blood or not
When the person you meet at the camp who tells you about his sins of his, he doesn’t actually drop dead, if you pan your camera close to him, you can hear snoring, you still did a good job of explaining everything though
Woah. Thank you for such an in depth take on learning about empathy through Red Dead. The topics feel so relevant and as games teach us / or reflect us, they have an incredible opportunity to direct a considerable mass of humans towards a more caring world. Your video here, clearly shows this. Grateful for your efforts and thoughts. May we all be better Players 1s in our lives.
“Redehredetion 2” 🤣🤣🤣 Say it louder mate
in retrospect, maybe i should have just sad red dead 2 instead
I have notifications on for this channel I cant believe I didnt see this till now! I dont really play fortnite or know much about it but I like your channel so Im watching to show support :3
UA-cam notifications being reliable as always lol
Your so illegally underrated it makes me mad
"illegally underrated" lol thanks
Im pretty sure i felt the same thing with breath of the wild
I think botw is a lot more subtle compared to how Rdr2 does it. But I think the core message both games are trying to convey are similar
The armless dude in valentine only says that if you meet him as arthur and he remembers arthur because Arthur was his king
back in 2018 when i was 15 i was playing thru the story i got so immersed in the game i spoke using slang from the game
rn in doing an evil play trough and i kinda like it its not as much work as my previes high honer playtrough
Clearly you don’t know nothing about Andrew Tate and just read headlines and believe them without actual research
I mean headlines say he's someone of the criminal variety. I didn't say anything about that and nor do I really believe that since there was a lack of strong evidence. But I do think him frequently calling broke people or 9 to 5 workers NPCs and such is harmful.
@@Mayfrogo bro what even is this I don’t even remember😂 my bad 🤦♂️🤷♂️
If u feel bad killing the npcs. Then the game did a good job
oh this is where you went. cool.
my friends came over to my house once and i went on rdr2. they wanted me to be a chaotic evil person but i just couldnt like i could in any other game.
I can't even kill people in this game 😭 I feel so guilty
stole a raccoon hat from a dude in the bar in valentine, everytime i wear it in valentine and he’s there he instantly fights me. 10/10
why you steal his hat
@@Mayfrogohe kept bragging about all the native americans he killed, also, the hat is pretty cool
I went to the trapper with the albino beaver and he said “oh wow an albino beaver I would take that for any price” and I felt like that was pretty cool
I too would take an albino beaver for any price
Same@@Mayfrogo
Imagine rdr3 with all of that and further additions according to future technology 🔥
