    Thank you for this doc! You were like my guide post while going through my journey. I came across your video before the start of review pa and it’s been stuck with me since. Kasi I don’t really feel like taking the exam pa. Peer pressure lang and FOMO. Tho I have “ok” grades naman during the review, I still couldnt shake the feeling na this is not for me yet. I was so downcasted everyday, thinking why am I punishing myself. Then I came across your vid for the 2nd time and that’s when I decided to skip the October 2024 na lang. Tho I know I have a chance to pass, alam kong it’s just because of my test taking skills and not because I really know about the topics. I also want to end my medschool journey knowing I did my best and di puro high index of suspicion lang. I felt really happy about it and ang gaan lang sa feeling. I can finally sleep at peace, I can take all my time to absorb a certain topic without thinking na I’m running out of time. I’m finally studying to learn and not just to pass.

      I'm glad I was able to help you :) Just as long as you feel at peace and happy with your decision, then that means you are doing what you really want. Eitherway, makukuha mo rin yung license mo one day! Just make sure that if you decide to take it in the next one, you really will use your extended time wisely :)

    Hi Doc! Ask ko lang kung nag re-enroll ka pa sa review center for the april PLE? Same na same sayo situation ko ngayon hindi ako confident to take it this october 2024 despite reviewing for 2 months. Plan ko to take na lang din next year march/april haha. Thank you for sharing this Doc! God bless.

    • @leslievlogs14
      @leslievlogs14 12 днів тому

      Hi!! No, I didnt re-enroll na. I also said it in the vlog! Mainly because I think the handouts I had during my first enrollment with TN was enough and very very nice already! It had everything I needed and I was already familiar with every page. Knowing myself, I would just also panic if I had new materials and I would get pressured to watch all the new videos of the same topics. I took March because I wanted to master what I already had (not have new materials and read new handouts with minor changes). I decided to study and see the bigger picture with my own schedule din para I won't be stressed and I would be at my own pace lang. Like, study for fun and chill, not with stress and may hinahabol na schedule. I work best at my own pace kasi, but that's not for everyone! During that time, I thought din naman na not a lot can change in a span of a few months, so baka sayang yung money - almost 20k din kasi siya :) But I had batchmates who re-enrolled! And, of course may little updates and recall questions talaga from the recent boards. So you can also opt to re-enroll naman if you want to know what was recalled from the recent boards or if you have spare cash! I also considered enrolling in other review centers na parang offered crash course for certain subjects, but decided not to do so anymore. Kasi, I was really already contended with the notes/tables I made from my TN handouts, and all the practice tests TN had! I just didn't want anything new that would make me panic. Happy happy lang ako sa extended review. It was just really studying for mastery and fun, and I do not regret that decision til this day :) Hope this helps you and anyone who is able to read this comment!

    I found your video accidentally i can say i can relate, it inspires me and motivates me, I will take the NCLEX this October 2024, i started my preparation since January, im studying almost everyday may mga araw din na hindi ako nakaka pag review dahil i have a job, marami rin distractions, sometimes I feel like I'm procrastinating, may mga dumadating din na problema and minsan nagkakasakit. i subcribed to UWORLD for review and question banks, i answered 6000 questions, i also enrolled to a local review center sa INAP maganda naman yung program nila. about the exam i feel anxious takot ako bumagsak and feeling ko kulang pa naaaral ko, i also feel excited tingin ko kaya ko naman sya ipasa, naienjoy ko rin mag aral dahil marami ako natutunan. tagal ko na nag aaral i always asking my self and other people also asking me bakit ang tagal ko mag take. Iniisip ko nalang bukod sa pumasa sa exam gusto ko maging magaling na Nurse, sometimes i feel unmotivated too but i tell my self ito nalang ang pag asa ko, tumatanda na ako, im done of being a mediocre, im done with my job and workplace. I passed the PNLE nung 2011 pa matagal na masyado tapos now ko lang naisipan na mag NCLEX, i know that i need a long preparation. mataas ang anxiety ko, i also pray hard everyday, madalas din ako sa simbahan, lagi rin ako may rosary, nanghihingi rin ako lagi ng holy water sa simbahan, everynight habang natutulog ako naka play sa YT ang rosary and minsan Psalm im a religious person. i want to inspire other people too and i hope and pray to pass the NCLEX. Babalikan ko itong comment ko na ito pag naka pasa ako sa Nclex this October. thank you for this video.

      Hi! I enrolled kasi for the October PLE, so i crash coursed the entire PLE reviewers from Topnotch from August to October just like any other October examinee. But, when I decided to take April instead, I allocated a lot of time sa harder subjects. I started easy with 5 days of Legal Med; spent three weeks each for Micro, Patho, Pharma, and Anat. Then 2 weeks each for Big 4 (started with IM, Pedia, Surg, then OB), then around 6 days for Physio, 5 days for Biochem, and 4 days for Prev Med. Then I crash course each again for the remaining number of days before the PLE started. But I allotted the last 2 weeks talaga mostly for week 1 subjects :) I just felt like I needed more than 1 rundown to really master it, and I also enjoyed learning a lot. Make sure to know Micro and Pharma by heart :)

    This is what makes UPCM very attractive to all aspiring med students because of the clinical experiences they can gain from PGH. Having a parent who frequent Optha in PGH, I’ve seen so many people from all walks of life. And inspite of everything (haba ng pila, tagal ng sched, lack of better facilities, etc) people still go back to PGH because of the doctors and staff. Great doctors tlga sila. And very seldom tlga un mabalitaan mong naninigaw ng pasyente na prevalent sa mga DOH and other public hospitals na tila nkababa ng dignidad ang pagiging mahirap. Kaya pag may dumadaan na mga med (and other medical profession) students sa mga pasilyo at buildings ng PGH, you can help but think that they are the future best doctors in the country.

Doc, can you suggest books (non-med related for now aside from the You Can Reach the Top which you recommended last time) that perhaps helped you through med school or influenced a part of you while studying for the PLE? Hi Ate Leslie!! I’ll soon enter my pre-med course in college in the following months. So yes, I am still an infant in this med journey (marking my first steps towards becoming a doctor) making most of the terms in the video unfamiliar to me. But still, I stayed till the end to listen in. I have been following your videos for the past months and it has really helped me in terms of the future to come. You really made it easier for your viewers to understand the journey in medicine and you always communicate each idea very well in a way that is far easier understood than complex. I am the first in my family to enter and explore the field of medicine so I am always grateful to have people like you who can be my ate’s and kuya’s for advice. I also did the same thing during our two-week internship in the Pathology Department at our local hospital for our school subject in STEM-MED. So I was always at the hands of the medtechs and some doctors. Still being respectful, I did not shy away from asking questions to them and (thankfully) they were very open to teaching us in return despite being busy with their own work. I’ll never forget each of their ‘horror’ stories about their journey in medschool which they openly shared to us as well. They had to suddenly stop at the end because it gave them the impression that they were already scaring us away from the field instead of pulling us in to choose it. Nonetheless, It only made me aware that fear is now something that will haunt me for the upcoming years to come as I continue towards this difficult and demanding path, but I also know that God will be present in this journey of mine and that alone is more than enough to give me comfort now. I have been returning several times at the adoration chapel of our local parish church to affirm my decisions and seek his guidance in this journey to come. We share the same source of strength Ate Leslie, and congrats po for passing your PLE!! (so happy this morning when I learned that you posted a new video again po after 2 years). As a bookworm, I totally agree with you that studying on paper is sometimes more efficient than doing it digitally. I pray that you’ll be able to help a lot of people now that you are a licensed doctor-and I also hope that you’ll be able to share that journey with us, with more advice and tips to come for incoming medical students in the same field. Thank you ate Leslie, and always always, God bless po!

    Hi Leslie may I know why you did not consider Ust as your med school

    • @leslievlogs14
      @leslievlogs14 5 місяців тому

      It was part of my choices! Which is why I applied there as well. But, I wanted a new scenery after 4 years of premed in UST. And I also factored in scholarships (getting a scholarship in UST is a hard and long process even if you have sparkling grades unlike in St. Lukes and UERM). And when I got in UPCM, I took the blessing as it is a great school and the tuition is a lot cheaper :)

    do your profs suggest you to red directly on books not rely solely on trans? Thank you.

    • @leslievlogs14
      @leslievlogs14 5 місяців тому

      Yes, the profs always say (and suggest) that the books are better. And most of the time, their lectures are also based on the books. But... haha there is kinda no more time to read the thick books so we usually just rely on transes (which is based on the lecture). Usually kasi the exams are usually based on them as well (and if unlucky, the book!).

      Hello, according to the UPCM manual, "INTARMED students are selected from the top 50 male and top 50 female college freshmen qualifiers (ranked according to University Predicted Grade (UPG) who indicated in the U.P. College Admission Test (UPCAT) application form their interest in INTARMED"... basically you have to be part of the TOP 50 in the country!!

      I think the simplest books to read are BRS books. If I would go back in time, I'd read BRS anatomy, micro, and pharma while im in my first year :)

    Hi Leslie I am deciding to take the NMAT on my junior year (like you!) If in case I get a favourable score, Am I allowed to start applying and submitting the requirements to medical schools I intend to apply to if if I am still in my 3rd yr premed or should I wait till I am in my Senior year to do this?

    • @neemtuano2467
      @neemtuano2467 2 роки тому

      Usually med schools require an endorsement for graduation before they let you submit the med school requirements. So it’s best if you submit on your senior year. It doesnt matter if you took the nmat during junior year because nmat validity is two years. Hope this helps :)

      this is correct and what i did!

    • @leslievlogs14
      @leslievlogs14 5 місяців тому

      if you take it during the second semester of premed junior year, thats okay. but, you have to wait for senior year before applying! :) but since you took it na, you can immediately apply once applications open.

      Thank you! I am now in my junior pre med and I took NMAT last January 2024. I am very very pleased with my score & glad that I do not need to re-take it. Just like what you have said, the aim is to really take it only once as we do not want to spend the next couple of months studying AGAIN. So for future NMAT takers, review well ,stay focused and do your best.

    Hi Leslie i am glad that you got in on your dream med school which is UPCM. I watched 2 vloggers who got 99 in NMAT and graduated Cumlaude from UPM but did not make it to UPCM.Do you need to be a higher cum like Magna or Summa in your premed to get to UPCM and were you one?

      for the NMAT, most of my friends and I enrolled in LEARNFAST. I thought I didn't need the practice exams, but it helped the most!
