I would have never spotted that one. It looked just like the rocks around it

Maybe not.... But rule of thumb for us, if it doesn't look like a rock.... Save it and take home for further research. 😊 I made a mistake when I found my first stingray mouth plate, I didn't know what it was and actually left it. Lesson learned. Now I have countless rocks at home, that are just rocks. 😂😂😂

Looking back at Covid Times is strange.

Sifting sucks 😂 We learned this the hard way. One additional technique we use in Chandler Creek is a bucket with a plexiglass bottom. So we can see under the water. Also we don't dig in the bank or creek ever. Only surface finds for us. Rule of thumb if it doesn't look like a rock, take it home with u. I see so many disregard some phenomenal finds. Attended college in Charleston in the late 70’s used to dive in the Ashley river and found many large prehistoric shark teeth. Great memories.
