    This is the first time I watch your videos and I have to say that is promising. Cool content. As an automotive engineer, I do have some questions. Is the engine supposed to be tilted to the left like that? (Not an expert on k24) it could cause issues in oil pickup and distribution, especially in cornering. How do you intend to cool the engine? You talk about a cooling pack but I have the feeling that, being in the back, you might want to fabricate some ducts to guide air into your coolers. Heatsoak will be a limiting factor for power if you don't go with a cold air intake. The enginebay will get toasty unless you force some air into it. Cool vid, you gained another sub

    • @SAMotorsport
      @SAMotorsport 9 днів тому

      The engine is supposed to lean like this. The oil pick up is designed to work with this lean, hence not changing it in my application. A lot of people who move this to longitudinally mounted tend to have it straight up and down and with a type S oil pump, it will more than likely starve itself for oil. All the radiators will be up the front of the engine, and there should be enough airflow (given lack of engine tin) for the engine in the back. The intake setup will need to slot behind a rear wheel, I am yet to do that as I want to get the exhaust and water system sorted first. Thanks for the sub, really appreciate it!

    I'd recommend not mounting the swirl pot to the intake. The intake is pretty heavy with the mass further away from the engine compared to the OEM manifold. I've heard of people breaking 10.9 bolts with this intake on engines running the type S oil pump, adding even more mass further out would not be good. The K24 vibrates a lot and you risk cracking the swirl pot, I'd mount it off the chassis instead. I got my K swap 260z running recently and have been putting miles on sorting issues. I didn't use a swirl pot and bled the system with an airlift vac bleeder, it worked great. I did buy a tiny overflow tank to plumb in to act kinda like a swirl pot, but it hasn't been necessary yet...

    • @SAMotorsport
      @SAMotorsport 9 днів тому

      This is good to note! I didn’t swap to the type S oil pump solely for the fact I want to limit vibrations as much as possible. Regardless, I don’t want to crack anything that pertains to the cooling system! I might have to look into the vac bleeder and figure out where to mount the fill spot a little better. I have a few other ideas that I was toying with so thanks for the input, truly appreciate other people sharing how they solved similar problems!

      @TheBiscuitsandGravy 9 днів тому

      @@SAMotorsport Sticking with the balance shaft pump is a good idea IMO, especially if you're going to run a turbo. These motors make so much power and the balance shaft pumps can apparently be run up to ~8300 before cavitation. With a safe redline of 7800 it'll still make 400+whp at <1bar of boost.

    • @SAMotorsport
      @SAMotorsport 9 днів тому
