That wind style rasen shiruken so powerful that it pierced the dna structure making kakuzu can never use chakra again. It was stated that narutos hand was injured too, 2 or 3 more times use of the jutsu will cause his hand to be useless too. Thats why later he toned down the rasen shuriken and made it less lethal. Thats why its so feared.

I dont get it Shikamaru could take Hidan with his shadow and I o could take Kakuzu with mind switch jutsu

It really speaks volumes to how much of a beast Kakuzu is that Kakashi needs to break out Front Lotus just to "distract" Kakuzu from Hidan.
