DIY 95mm Popper Lure: Step-by-Step Build for Topwater Fishing
In this video, I will guide you through the process of crafting a 95mm popper lure that creates powerful topwater action. This lure is designed to skip across the water with loud, deep pops, using a unique combination of a suction cup and a Paulownia wood body.

I did manage a quick visit to a nearby reservoir to test the lure action, but I am definitely looking forward to a full fishing trip soon. Hopefully, I will get a chance to fish with it soon! 🎣

      I use two-part epoxy resin, similar to that used for coating fishing rod threads. Any brand will work but be sure to follow the instructions as the mixing ratios may vary. If needed, use a torch or alcohol burner to remove bubbles from the surface after application. Enjoy your build!

      Spot on! The eyes for the lure were inspired by Joca Wobblers. Jovan R. Lepenac has this cute and catchy eye design.     I love this video. I made some because I was unable to buy 1/8 oz scrounger heads. I have a problem, though. The ones I made spin unless they are retrieved very slowly. Do you have any tips on what to do to correct this?

      I am glad you enjoyed the video and gave it a try. Here are some tips to help with the spinning issue: 1. Check if the "lip" is balanced and symmetrical on both sides. If it's tilted, it can cause the lure to rotate like a fan blade. 2. When using a lighter jig head, adjust the size of the lip to avoid overpowering. 3. Ensure the lip is attached as close to the tow eye as possible to help stabilize it. I hope these tips help! Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or need further assistance.
