Very cool. I just did a vid on this myself a week or so ago. The YT manpack craze is a marketing bus. Thanks for sharing !
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the content. As far as manpacks are concerned, I guess like any tool it has a place, but I agree with you that it seems to be more about marketing than presenting practical solutions. I subbed your channel, and will definitely check out your video.
@@PartisanCommsGroup You are welcome !
Good stuff!!

Great video. I’m new to radios and getting all the info I can. 👍👍👍
As always, good content. With the threat of nuclear war looming its a great idea to get your ducks in a row. Save those bottle caps and beware of super mutants.
Great point on a charging port for radios. I wish all radio batteries would have a USB-C charging port. Charging cradles are so obnoxious. As an alternative to port charging, I think radios that can take AA batteries are practical. I have tried to standardize on AA powered devices where possible.
I like that crank radio!
Well good morning.
How to unlock?
I enjoyed this video.
This topic is fascinating. Thanks for touching on it. I remember watching a show about this where the Soviets preferred using dead animals to hide messages. Clever Ruskies
Great information to concider. Thank you!
👍👍👍

Good topic that is still relevant today.
Fun topic.
I always love history like this imagine what has been lost to time
What exactly are the frequencies that this unlocks?
My understanding (and take this with a grain of salt) is, some Baofengs come from the manufacturer programmed to transmit on a limited frequency range. Allegedly, a factory reset may open them up to a wider frequency range (out of the box limited frequency range: 144-148 MHz / 420-450 MHz. Supposedly the factory reset on some radios open them up to 136-174 MHz /400-520 MHz). If true, a use case might be for people who are, or intend to join the MARS program, and need the ability to expand their transmit capabilities. A full factory reset may also be helpful in resolving certain issues, but unfortunately won't fix inoperability issues such as a corrupt image file. Conversely, I've heard that depending on the firmware version, a factory reset won't change the transmit and receive frequency ranges; and will only erase all the memory channels and user settings. The factory reset seems to be hit or miss. Some have reported it works, some say it doesn't do anything, or the factory reset text doesn't appear on the display. My guess is it may be related to the firmware version a given radio has installed.
@PartisanCommsGroup welp mine could access those frequencies out of the box and i bought it last month
I’m new to radio. Always thought it to be a good skill to have. My interest is emergency environment. Watching all the videos I can. Thanks
Well done.
Thank you.

Do you know the internal dimensions of the main pocket? Is there any stretch/give to it? Curious if a tough book 11.5x11.9 would fit
The bag in the video is too small for a Toughbook. I have a CF-52, and its too large for the main compartment. But, here is a link to another bag I have that does fit my CF-52, which may be useful to you. Link: a.co/d/dwmJNlk
I appreciate your organization skills.
My OCD helps with that.
Im slow tonight, surprised I'm still awake. That's a nice car, looks like something you would see in the nice part of town.
They're only asking 10k. The owner said he knows what he has, so no low ballers.
@PartisanCommsGroup they must be from Missouri where a polished turd is priceless. It takes great skill to polish one and not smear it everywhere. 😂
Yeah those are sick wheels T you should get back out there and ghost ride that whip.
First.
That was pretty fast.
@@PartisanCommsGroupyeah I can't sleep, having a bounty of insomnia.
Cool set up, your audio is a little scratchy but other than that it's good.
Yeah, it was a little windy and the audio was picking it up.
All my Ham Radios is not Modded,
❤🇺🇸
I have a Kenwood D75A, very good HT,
I"m still learning my way around it, but it's my new favorite radio.
Trump and Vance will have a Landslide Victory! 🇵🇷🇺🇲🇮🇱🍔🍟
It's definitely going to be interesting to watch how it all shakes out.
Real Vets don’t vote for draft dodgers.
Thanks i also have a baofeng BF-F9V2+ .identical to the uv5r ever hear of itband will the reset work
Maybe I'll do a live at some point and try to cover general programming questions people have?
Hi great vid ,will I loose anything I have programmed into the memory?
Thank you, I'm glad the video was helpful. You shouldn't lose any programming information when doing the factory reset; however, its always a good idea to have it backed up just in case. There are radios like the TIDRADIO H8 where you do lose your programming information when resetting / switching modes, but that doesn't appear to be the case when I reset my UV-5R.
Well I'm not a computer guy, a buddy didn't for me .I have two programed identical maybe I will roll the dice and see what bappens
You should let others know the retailer that refused to correct their mistake so that we don't shafted like they did you.
Out of all the radios I ordered from them, I had a single issue. Which, I think is a small sample size. If I thought the results of this one past exchange were indicative of future outcomes, then I would reveal who it was. But, that wasn't the point of the video. The point was to show people how to do the mod themselves on that particular radio.
Yes, but if you did not want to shine a light on the retailer, you wouldn’t have mentioned that at all and just gone directly into the Mars mod content. I will do no modifications myself and of course want to make sure that it’s done properly with no complications
I stumbled onto this! Great find on my part. I’ll be sharing.
Thank you, I really appreicate that. Glad you liked it.
When i unlocked tdh8 all the pre program channels are gone even in channel mode? So gmrs channels from tidradio are gone. How do i get them back?
You'll need to re-program those back into the radio. You can use the programming software CHIRP, or the TIDRADIO Odmaster software to program the frequencies you want.
The pics you said would leave down below, ?????
Do you mean an image of the circuit board? I beleive there should be one in the video.
@@PartisanCommsGroup Yes, an image. I know the resister is very small and hard to focus but a still shot zoomed in with a phone or camera would really help. Thanks.
At the 5:18 mark there is a photo of the circuit board. I'm not sure if I still have a copy of it.
@@PartisanCommsGroup Thanks but I don't need a pic now. My Yaesu is now a BRICK. Not related to your video though. It was MY fault.
What happened?
Mine doesn’t do anything when I do that
Seems to be hit or miss.
Sounds like a terrible time.
