Totally agree on the MP game plan. BRILLIANT and so non-MP on defense; quasi-zone. Team played it perfectly. Offense, too. Pushing Braden to hunt his shot. TKR and Furst REALLY played hard at both ends. Best I’ve seen. Loyer’s added strength since last year really obvious and makes a difference on his drives. If Purdue can tackle each opponent with this creativity and execution, they’ll be BIG Champs.

Classes don’t start until the 13th this year, so students will not be back unfortunately Nebraska on the 12th isn’t a Paint Crew game either but they at least let students claim tickets for it

Cox and Harris aren't going to take a huge next step if Braden is always on the floor with them.

If you are going to come curls to shoot 3's against good athletes with length then the shooter needs to have a quick release. Like Sasha. Cline could do it because he has a super high release and was good at fading to create space. This is why you don't see Fletch using curl screens a lot because he has a relatively slow release.

Would love to see better scoring outside the big 3.

Have to admit, kind of stinks we are evaluating how different individuals performed against kenpom #219. Feels like it should have been a gimme if purdue were looking to do anything this season.

Why don’t Colvin and Heide attack close outs? That would solve a lot of things offensively they have the size and athleticism

First I love you guys, really appreciate the show and always look forward to it. My pushback on Cam and Myles is they rarely run any back door cut, lob, or other action for those guys. I agree they aren’t pick and roll guys but there has to be something better than sitting them in the corner. I’m no CBB expert but it’s like those guys fall asleep from not being involved. Almost like they are told to stay out of the way cause they aren’t “THE GUY”.

Very thoughtful answers and well spoken. He might be a HC one day esp if he doesn’t start hitting FTs 😂

Soft is not close to being too strong. Only Smith is physical. TKR is soft, First is soft, Heidi is soft except in open court. Watch how these guys are on their heels when a shot goes up…they stand and wait…that’s soft.

Disagree on “lean on TKR” in a game like this. Need to get Heidi and Colvin/ Cox set up for screen 3’s/ catch and shoot 3’s. Didn’t do it at all. Why not when it was obvious Smith/ Loyer/ TKR would be way over-matched?

“Purdue has issues”….OK, what do you think they are specifically? I think they had a bad strategy of ignoring early open 3’s, instead driving inside. Really? Against Auburn? Who though that was the right approach? The ONLY chance Purdue had was to rain 3’s from all players, not just Smith and Loyer. They likely would not have won anyway, but I can count on both hands in the first half how many catch and shoot 3’s they passed up.

Gonna be a 10-12 loss season. You can tell these guys have no idea what just happened to them 😂😂😂😂

I have nothing but respect for this guy. No excuses. Gave Auburn all the credit. Purdue is a pretty good team. Beat bama. I appreciate the class this guy has.

Wasted a run to the F4 and Championship game by taking 0 transfers thereafter. Could’ve gotten an elite big and guard after Edey left. Instead he let Catchings go. Smith is good but he can’t be the primary scorer…

Don't be hard on the Boilermakers, Auburn has 9 seniors on the team, several who have played together for four years, plus a bench with young five star players, and the best player (Broom) in college basketball.

Enjoyed the game. Love non conference play! Purdue will be just fine for March!

To be fair Auburn is leading the nation in dunks by like 30. They have done that to everyone

If Braden Smith is being shutdown why is there no strategy to solve that problem? But to be honest this is typical Matt Painter team, fail to prepare for the big game and then simply watch the other team win!

Purdue was a no-show just like Broome’s hairline.

Soft coaching = soft results. Stop feeding the post when it’s not there. Take more shots. Speed up the game (maybe try a zone vs teams who can get to the rim at will on us). Painter and PJ are coaching this team as if TKR is Edey. Also you have to play Cox / Furst more but get into Furst so he’s not soft. Furst needs the Bobby Knight treatment and we need Sophomore Furst back…can speed up the game for us. We play way too slow with Heide and Colvin together. Loyer has to be selectively aggressive within his game too. He tries to do too much sometimes.

Purdue isn’t a top 25 team. Probably 30-40. I would be surprised is we win an away game in the B1G. I am also surprised that we only have one guard signed for 2025 with all of the success for the last several years. Better plan on going to the portal in the offseason. Hopefully we don’t lose key players to the portal. The money can be so tempting
