Smith is a better PG.. I think Sears is a better pure scorer because he is asked to be. Braden is asked to distribute the BBall and make open looks.

This is a game that could potentially give our freshman a ton of confidence. We have the home court advantage and taking down #2 would be a great on our resume. Drop coverage means Braden feasting and CJ should have a green light for his pull up too. It's becoming obvious for this year we're going to have to outscore everyone with our young core still learning and getting experience.

Hot take... Furst will have a big positive impact on this game.

It looks to me like Jacobsen being out is going to be a big blow for this season. I think Burgess would benefit by redshirting this season but that would leave Purdue with one center. I don't think Berg plays like a 7'2" center. He doesn't seem to have any effect on rim protection and he doesn't demand any double teams. I think TKR should play center and Furst should play power forward at least from the starters perspective.

I still don't understand why Cam isn't doing more. He is an unreal athlete. He has size, strength, a good shot... I just don't get it. Really hope he gets more involved.

Terrible news for the very talented tall kid. Bad news for the Boilers who remained healthy in the big run last season. You never know when a young athlete has such an unfortunate accident. Jacobsen was farther along than Edey when he arrived at PU.

Horrible news for Purdue. This does give some others an opportunity though. I hope he heals well and that is the most important part of this. Personally I hope that Furst now steps up and can play more.

Furst hasn’t been given much of a chance in the last 1.5 years. When he does come on the court good things mostly happen. I hope he gets some much deserved run now.

I think Jacobsen will probably be able to put on more weight and possibly even focus on strength training considering he won’t be going through the gauntlet of the season. It will definitely hurt his in game development but I trust he’ll be really good in the coming years

I do not know why all you Purdue commentators keep talking about putting TKR at center and Heidi at power forward and then claim the offense will improve. Furst and the 2 Burgs are all more active in the offense than Heidi is right now. Plus when Purdue plays that small their interior defense suffers.

Big delay. praying for complete recovery. I wish Furst would step up and play to his potential...losing Jacobsen probably cost us 2 games on the ceiling unless we see big improvements from Heide, and all the guys at the 5.

19 and 14 combined from Burgess, Berg, and Furst. I'll take that from the center spot all year.

I think Berg was a big part of his +27 mainly in the 2 man game with Braden was better with him in.

I don’t think we’re gonna get to Elite level D. I think we can be good and competitive. I feel that the offensive upside and being an Elite scoring team is more likely. That being said I believe Colvin is the better piece to get more time. I think the offense can likely outscore most teams they play. I also think both Cox and Harris deserve time and this far believe Cox has played slightly better between them.

Hopefully Furst can get a few minutes in this game since he played so well in his 1.5 minutes last game and there are not huge giants in there to defend.

Smith Loyer Colvin TKR Furst looked good together in the first half…it was only 2 min and 2 pts for Furst though. Furst also had 1 block in his 2 mins which turned out to be a hockey assist to Colvin’s monster dunk. Can’t blame Paint for wanting to develop Jacobson, but I’m still baffled Furst gets very few minutes with this team. I think that may change vs. better competition.

My take aways 1) Braden TKR and fletch are studs 2) Heide looks lost 3) I want to see more Jacobson and less Berg going forward 4) Colvin and Cox are exciting 5) defense could be a problem

Purdue. -21.5 in this game. Don’t see that happening. I think they’ll D-up Purdue pretty good and they shot the ball well against ACU in their first game. Rayl will not see any action.

Unfortunately it's going to be a rough year at the 5 defensively. We have depth but not experience and it's really going to be up to Braden, Fletcher, TKR to carry most of the load. CJ and Gicarri are looking very solid and could be the key to how far we go.
