I think it represents a very clear pattern we all go through when we "experience something astonishingly beautiful". There's obviously the "before phase", where we all feel a little bit alone and sad, but kind of happy, just as you said! And then comes the excitement (the middle arpeggio part), where things flow and new, where you discover, you experiment, you fall in love, etc... And after all that excitement, things fade, wither and die... Sibelius lived in a country with four seasons, just like me (I'm Canadian)! This piece could very well be a metaphor for the four seasons. Opening is Winter/Spring, Middle part is Summer, transition to the recap is Fall and the ending is Winter again. It could also be a metaphor for life, as we all experience deep and meaningful things in our adult years, and then we end up loosing people around us and one day die. This piece is a strong one, and could be a metaphor for pretty much everything actually :P

Awww Merci full!! C’est plus exactement les “bonnes informations en fonction des dates”, mais tu peux transposer beaucoup de ce que je dis aux mois d’août et septembre en fait!! 😊 les heures et emplacement exact des planètes varie un peu bien sûr mais elles sont bien visibles toute la nuit !!

Je suis encore un débutant pour l'instant j'ai un peu de mal à repérer les planètes et ta vidéo elle était très instructive je bien aimé tá façon de expliquer t'a pris ton temps pour bien faire... Le top

This might be a bold assumption, but my guess is that the disregard towards that "kind" of repertoire (and other "niche repertoire" that we won't cover here haha) is due to a few factors, mainly not being German/european enough, being to short, not being Debussy or Ravel, and being snubbed for more than 100 years by those famous pianists we were all led to admire by our teachers. If you check Brahms' repertoire, there is hardly any pieces less than 10 minutes, except if you play excerpts (which is still considered "sacrilegious" today). But, check Poulenc's, Sibelius’, Satie’s Piano Works: they are filled with short pieces less than 2-3 minutes. And some of them are absolute gems. It’s taken 100 years for those short pieces to finally start to get some attention, and, taking into consideration that the average attention span of people is decreasing dramatically since the 2000s (again, this is a social issue that I won’t go deep into here haha), those pieces will be featured more and more into concert programs… A good balance will have to be found with long and short pieces, but my guess is that short pieces will bring a whole new set of people into the classical music universe and longer pieces will please a more conservative audience. Personally, I’m excited for my professional years to come :) Long answer but I think this is a dilemma a whole bunch of concert musicians are facing and not talking about much haha

I love his Les soirées de Nazelles so much, but yet again I like his Mouvements perpétuels, his nocturnes, all of the improvs... there's so much good intimate piano stuff in his rep!!

Thanks!! I was thinking of doing some of Viteslav Novak's Pan, a Poem in Tones next year. Maybe not the whole thing... Not sure if it's the same "Pan", but the work does feel a lot impressionnistic :) I'll investigate a little more

There's two more pieces to the "Musiques" suite, which are Bouffons and Tumultes. Both looked pretty cool when i read them quickly, and I'll have a look at the music this summer!! He wrote more than 20 pieces for solo piano, + a sonata!
