I honestly don’t know as I’ve never used it with that before. Sorry!

I use the Matte Black Cali Jars from California Candle Supply as well as the Hearts and Crafts Matte Black Tins for my smaller candles. I double wick both with HTP 83 Wicks, but depending on the fragrance you may need to go up or down a size.

@ what ounce jjars do you recommend for double wicks? Thank you in advance

@ Umm I mean the ounces don’t necessarily determine whether you should double wick or not, it’s more about the width of the vessel you’re using. My wax (6006) has a higher melting point so I’ve found basically any vessel over 3 inches wide usually (not always but usually!) needs to be double wicked to get a full melt pool. But it kinda depends on how soft the wax you’re using is and how wide the vessel is etc!

I actually switched to this recipe because I tried a base and left residue all over our floor!!! So nope thankfully no residue in this one and so far I’ve never had any of them stain any of our fabrics! I’ve tested on our couches, clothes, curtains, towels, etc and never had any issues with stains etc!

Hot enough to reach to the edges, but not so hot that it’s super hot or anything. They are very small wicks and I use 6006 which has a higher melt point. 😄

We honestly have such BEAUTIFUL vibrant colors this year! I feel like they’re more vibrant than usual! (But it could also be that I see in more color now that I’ve left my job and the depression of having to go into an office everyday has left my soul! 🤣🤣🤣)

@ 🤣🤣🤣 we have 2 trees in my neighborhood that have slightly survived the heat & humidity, then it was 83 yesterday and 80 today , no more leaves lol back to air conditioners 😔

The only thing I would say is use Shopify if you can!! I’ve done several websites over the years and always needed someone who was like really good at coding etc to do most of the work for me. But with Shopify I did it all myself (well and google at times! Lol!) and there are so many back end things that are already setup for you essentially and it’s just the best in my opinion!! Lol!

It is SOOO nice to have! I think I've had it for about a year and honestly it's more handy than I even thought. I usually just roll it right into a closet when I'm done with it. Also being able to adjust the height for flatlays and all that! SO nice. My back loves me for it! lol!!! They may be having a sale in a couple weeks... but you didn't hear it from me... 😉 I'll let you know when I know the details! haha!

@@lawhispersasmr6124 I’m sorry I’ve honestly never had that happen so I’m really not sure. Does it stay clumpy after you mix it? Are you adding the poly20 and preservative to the water before the fragrance oil or after? I always add the water, then preservative + poly20 then stir really well before adding the fragrance, then stir again once adding fragrance.

Hmm it’s one of my strongest scents (probably in the top 3) and best sellers so I’m not sure what to tell ya.. 😅 With wax melts it could be your process or it could be the melter itself. They sometimes don’t get hot enough. That being said with wax melts I also use 12%.

Gotchya! Yes I can do a video all about that. But for now I would say focus on showing behind the scenes of starting the business! Show the process of making candles, talk about the science behind it, talk about how important trimming wicks are etc! Reels are currently the best way to reach new people on Instagram. Stories do really good at reaching the people who already follow you but Reels specifically are the best at getting in front of new people! 😄 But also remember that followers do not always equal sales! You definitely want to eventually get an email list for people to join etc as well.

@@the1994candleco Oh my gosh I know!!! I can’t get over how realistic they look! Love your channel and your honesty when it comes to the candle business. I’m getting my website together and offering wax melts as I am still in the stage of testing my darn wicks. I have literally been testing for over three years and have finally found the perfect vessels and wax, but my oh my it’s hard to find the perfect wicks.

Wick testing is soooo difficult. Definitely not for the faint of heart! Lol! Are you having issues with scent throw or reaching a full melt pool? What wax are you using?

⁠​⁠@@the1994candlecoI’m using coconut apricot wax and after doing much research I have learned that coconut apricot wax naturally tunnels until about half way down the candle and then it will catch up and melt the wax on the sides. I have also been researching and testing the heck out of wicks because I wasn’t educated on the different types of wicks before I started testing them. Ugh! I had no idea that some wicks burn hotter than others and knew absolutely nothing about wicks mushrooming or the reasoning for it. I was testing candles with fragrance until I watched a tutorial on wick testing and the gentleman on the video said not to test with fragrance. Instead test with plain wax so you have an idea on how the wicks work in the wax and then test with fragrance oils. This has been such a frustrating journey but I must say I truly appreciate and enjoy the art of it. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your journey with all of us and for being such an amazing inspiration.
