I think you have to scale the fish to eat the skin. I used WD-40 on my guides to slow down the freezing, but only on my spinning gear. The fly rod might be more difficult with those snake guides though. People also use cooking spray and even chapstick I think. Great fish man, I wish I knew lakes like that!

Waters low! Thought it wold be frozen up by now. Did well there this summer. I have a cabin on top of that mountain with a private lake full of tigers and cutthroats. Its near one of the best fishing lakes in the state. Will send you how to get hold of me. Your welcome to stay at my cabin next summer if you would like😊
