Elton's Notes
Приєднався 6 кві 2019
Here you will find transcriptions that I've made of Elton John and his piano music. Most transcriptions of Elton John focus on simplistic approaches to his music and the vast majority of them are incorrect. Here I intend to finally show everyone the complexity of his piano playing and will strive to make sure the transcriptions are as note-accurate as possible. No vocal lines. No melodies. Just what he plays. Nothing more, nothing less.

Elton John - Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word (Studio Version)
Переглядів 6 тис.2 місяці тому
From the album, Blue Moves released in 1976, Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word is one of Elton's most enduring ballads. A song about the realization that a relationship is soon to end. When sorry seems to be the hardest word.

The first of the studio version's I'm going to be releasing for free to everyone. Seemed fitting, since the Moscow version of this was the first song I transcribed.

Elton John - I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That - Live 99
Переглядів 3,7 тис.9 місяців тому
Originally recorded on the Reg Strikes Back album in 1988, I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That became a staple of Elton's live shows in the 1990's. Unfortunately, the Medusa tour which began in 1999 would be the last tour to feature the song in the regular setlist rotation. This performance in 1999 at Roanoke, Virginia is one of my favorites and features a very difficult solo section which s...

Can you make it sound less robotic?
Masterpiece! Music 🎶🎵
Many chords are wrong!
Can you do come down in time please
One of my personal favorites, can't wait to learn this masterpiece. There arent many people like you please continue. Thanks again 😁
Love it!
WOOOAH, THAT'S SUPER COOL!! Imma learn it
You are the greatest of all time. Love your videos.
Still working on this too :)
Let me start by saying great job. I'm a self taught started at a late age piano guy. I never thought I would be able to play an elton john song. Your videos have given me that ability. Now I'm actually playing an Elton john song! Thank you so much
Excited for this
Out of all the song's I've transcribed on my channel, this is the first time I feel like I'm in over my head. This update is from 3 months ago. In the time since, I've transcribed the final verse and the last chorus. All that remains is the 2nd four minute long jazzy/rock piano improvisation. To add onto the complexity of the song, I'm also transcribing Dee Murray's bass guitar and Nigel's drums as well. At the rate that I'm going, I have no idea when it will be complete. Just wanted to put this update up for anyone still interested in more videos. I haven't forgotten about the songs, nor stopped working on things. It's just that this song is hellaciously difficult to do. I'll see you all when it's done.
You’re amazing. This is so impressive, hats off to you sir!
Robert Ford should give you a break. LOL Nice work
Can you do a tutorial for the Elton Johns song Its Me That You Need?
hey I love your videos, and I was watching a few and I wanted to ask you why Elton John plays chords with his octave and why not in his triadic state
What’s next?
Sorry for the late reply. At the moment (and in no particular order): Madman Across The Water (Live BBC Sounds for Saturday) I'm Still Standing (Live in Ephesus) Where To Now St. Peter? (Live from The Rainbow Theater) I Feel Like A Bullet In The Gun Of Robert Ford (Live from The Rainbow Theater) Jingle Bells Boogie Woogie (Live from Lisbon, Portugal 2016) Amoreena (Live 17-11-70) Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters Don't Go Breaking My Heart (Live Edinburgh 76 (no promises on this one)) The Ballad of Danny Bailey (Live Chicago 1988) Pinball Wizard (Studio Version) Empty Garden (Live Madison Square Garden 1999) Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (Studio Version) This Song Has No Title (Studio Version) A kind person on my patreon early this year sent me the official songbooks produced in the 70's of most of Elton's classic era album (1970-1976). They aren't totally note-for-note accurate (which is what I strive for), so I'm also working on tweaking them so that they can be fully released. So that's another 70 or so songs there. All of them will be free once they're finished.
beautiful song. 🎶
King
😁
I know it's not Elton but I would die happy if I ever saw Aladdin Sane transcribed with the crazy solo included!
Why are there just 66 likes? This is pure perfection.

The MIDIes of tones D, CE, D, and CE in the order in which they are pressed create an image/symbol of a chain, in the video and on the thumbnail. That's what I literally would call "sound image" That's drawing the paint or picture with the MIDIies... Drawing with MIDies in 2D, or perspective (axonometric), . . . . . Very nice thumbnail capture, a very nice thumbnail choice... Tones D, CE, D, and CE create a creature that looks like a chain... Chain reaction... Chainsaw reaction... Heavy chain. Tones A G, and A G that are in perfect octaves make the chain even heavier... "Bench pressing just heavy chains, shrugging, rowing, or deadlifting?
"And that's that thing/turning point, you ignite both and you fly in it, you fly in it.
I am slowly getting to know Elton... . . . I get goosebumps watching and listening to your tutorials. Who can listen to it without passion?
The thumbnail of this video reminds me of "Mission: Impossible (1996)" - Legendary "Wire Heist" scene... Basically abdominal plank for 7 minutes! When doing plank time is running slower!
0:16 "Oh, the fingers of both hands are on the same white key... Oh, oh, oh, so hot isn't it...? :):):) "Only" the hands of "he" and "she" will touch, "of course..." :):) "It's even more impressive as crossed hands while playing the piano, in my opinion... :):) . . . The visible part of the white key is 15 cm long. The length of the visible part of the key is around 15 centimeters... . . . 0:03 "The opening note was C Major No.5 - It sounds so sweet and full, and harmonical... "C Major No.5 is for me almost No.1 :):):):)
this is very unexpected and very great! Buut still waiting for "Believe" studio version but it's i think so insane

I remember going to the record store and getting Blue Moves the day it came out and being shocked at how non-pop the album was. Some of it was actually facially dull, and the uptempo attempted hit “Bite your lip (get up and dance)” was clearly a swing and a miss. Still “Sorry seems to be the hardest word” and “ “Tonight” were fantastic. To this day I remember the poor quality vinyl my album was stamped on. Lots of pops when brand new, and one platter had a big bubble in it. Modern vinyl aficionados gloss over the poor quality of mainstream records in the 1970s. Later I gained an appreciation for a lot of the other tracks once I could hear them on CD and streaming plus hear them with the ears of an adult, because this is very much an adult album.
I am really excited for Your Song.
Same
I already learnt this song, but your studio versions are best, so I'm here and ready to learn again. I can already play half song and i think i can say that this version is way better.
I love your videos! the transcriptions are very accurate to the original interpretations. I love your dedication to Elton John. Could you make an arrangement of 'Hello, Hello', the duet with Lady Gaga?
I'll add it to my to-do list!
Thanks for posting this! I learnt it a couple of months ago but had to export the left and right hand parts separately and then put them together on an online video editor. I hope Glenn is doing well, he did a lot for our community and so are you! Greetings from Bolivia P.S. You should get a new profile pic, something that makes your channel more recognizable and gives an idea of what you do over here!

1:19 I love the intense colors of the midies! Really, really fierce coloring among other piano tutorial videos. A very cute color filter...
Thank you very much!
Do bennie central park 1980 please.
we miss you bro
Madman driving me crazy :( I'm about 50% finished with Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, though. :D
Ridiculous, take a break do Robert Ford

This BBC live recording of Madman is my absolute favourite piece of music I've ever heard. Always wanted to perform a version live behind the keys but have never felt I'd to it justice, thanks to your work I feel really inspired to give it a try. This is truly amazing ❤️
I'm really curious about I think I'm going to kill myself because I like this song so much.
That's so cool omggg !!!
I'm excited for all of them. I can't wait to learn it.
Looking forward to the finished product, there arent many precise tutorials like yours, learning this as soon as i can :)
Really beautiful piece
What a nice surprise, thank you (and Elton’s cafe ofc)
I mainly uploaded this to test out the new soundfont I grew fond of. It produces much better sounds than the default windows .midi instruments. That Steinway piano sound it makes is one of the best I've been able to find that doesn't cost serious money (and those don't include other instruments with it)
@@eltonsnotes5492 good sound indeed
