Solve as soon as possible: broken 2.0HDI 163 RHH injector holder, leaking injector seal
Переглядів 21 тис.2 роки тому
If you can smell exhaust gasses and some smoke can be seen on top of the 2.0HDI 163 (RHH) engine, then most probably you have a leaking injector seal, in most cases, due to broken injector holder. This is second time I am having a leaking injector seal. First time the holder was fine, but now it was broken. In this video you can see me repairing this issue.

    Hello, Do you have any idea how that plastic intake works? All 8 holes are intake, or the 4 on the top of the cylinder head is some exhaust ports for the EGR system? I have a suspicious smell in my car with the same engine but already cleaned and reamed injector seats, replaced copper washers, bolts, etc. I doubt there's an injector seal problem, still there's an exhaust smoke like smell under the injector cover.

      Well, if its carbon, like tar, then its due to leaking injector seal for sure. And to answer you first question: no, its not possible to remove intake manifold without removing injectors...

    Please note, you firstly remove the oil fill cap (the oil that goes out needs to be displaced by air, otherwise not all will come out), only then you unscrew the oil plug and drain the oil. Also make sure to to it on warm (but not hot) engine so the oil is more fluid and more of it can come out.

    Easiest fix is a short length of black, nylon cord. attach it through that hole in the catch, feed the other end out of the grill and tie a loop to pull by. The catch is spring loaded, so it only needs a slight tug to pull the catch back. The cord can be tucked behind the grill and being black, noone notices it! It has a way more positive action than the original plastic lever...and costs nothing!!

    7:32 These two soleniods control when the DPF regeneration is occuring. EGR is set to 0% and 'doser head' mixes the required air paths to achieve suitable incoming air temperatures for the DPF regeneration process (in combination with the use of the Eloys fluid). One should be closed and ther other open when the ignition is off.

    • @rustoil

    • @bizling

    Just replaced driver's side regulator today, passenger side was a year ago. Tricky enough job including drilling through speaker housing to access the bottom left hex screw. I had to take mine out again after first fix, guides came off the rail after sticking on something. 4 hour job 😮 but it's done correctly, sound insulation replaced properly and door card fitted exactly. Paying mechanics never do anything like this properly here in UK/Ireland, they are shit.

    The tool you use in 9:35 is not so good. It is very easy to scratch a surface underneath the o-ring and cause leakage. It is much better to use some kind of dull tool. I used to work in automotive industry for over 10 years and we had to remove tools like these from production line, just because quite often operators using them, accidentally damaged produced parts. @rustoil Good to know! I have this same engine that's why I asked. It's the main difference between the DW10BTED4 and the DW10CTED4 was the introduction of the variable flow oil pump. That said, I have seen these DW10CTED4 engines with over 800k KM on their original oil pumps so I would say frequent oil changes (10k) will prevent failure. Was the oil pump the cause of your engine failure? And if so have you any idea why that might have been? Cheers!

    • @rustoil
      @rustoil 6 місяців тому

      @19jacobob93 well, I dont exactly know, what was the main cause of the failure. I guess that it was not properly repaired after cranshaft/connecting rods bearings replacement and those failled again. Pump chain was in place. I dont know if there was any problems with oil pressure before engine started to knock...

    • @19jacobob93
