By far the best description for fitting a bifold, others don't show if it's a rebated door frame it's fitted to.
loved it tk u
Lol this video was so pointless.
Try painting it first
Most problems are with the tilt, and no one can fix that.
Can't see where he is measuring to on the right when he measures width of rough opening, and can't tell when he's measuring the height of the rough opening where it ends. Does it end where the sheetrock begins or where the edge of the wood on top begins? If you're doing this for rank amateurs, you're not showing enough or providing enough detail.
What about if your door has a large gap from the floor and the L bracket is bending down from the weight?
You can’t remove hinge pins so very difficult to replace bottom door sweep. Terrible design
If you can't remove the hinge pins, remove the hinge. Get some shims to put under the door while you do this. If it is a solid wood door, get someone to help you. My front door probably weighs near 200 lbs.
Obviously I know to measure those things. You need to explain 1) why, 2) how much clearance to consider, and 3) what’s the correct size to place an order for what you had measured. This video was not helpful.
I was looking for more info also
Can you fit any draught excluding to this as to stop say kitchen fumes from entering the other room?
How do you close the door from behind?
What I don't understand is the pieces I got in the box don't look like what's in the pictures or in this video. There needs to be an inventory list with pictures.
Woefully inadequate. No mention of how to tell door swing, or jamb depth. Shame on you for wasting everyones time.
If only there was a vast international network that people could search to find answers to such questions.
But like…. What did you do with the shims? Beginners will be so lost.. don’t forget to elaborate on ALL DETAILS.
Ik I was like wait 😂
My right panel door has moved and out of alignment. Any suggestions?
didn't like that on the strike side, you did not adjust the shim before nailing. shimming, nailing, checking, pulling nails, shimming, checking, nailing is bogus.
I got my 1st Steve's prehung interior doors from HD yesterday....absolute garbage. They didn't even prime the door slab edges. Fussy junk MDF, staples sticking through to visible areas in MULTIPLE places. missed with stapler for the cardboard protector and the staple shot through the door face and finally, the casing was INCREDIBLY crooked. Went from proper 3/8ish at top to a NEGATIVE 1/16 at the handle area back to about 1/8 on bottom....ON BOTH SIDES. I practically had to disassemble the whole thing to make it right. Never again and the rest are going back.
Thank you for posting this!! I just fixed my closet door! ✨🙏
I did the same with Woodglut :)
Jokers
The instructions provided with the door were horrendous. Diagrams were too small to be usable. There were not any 3” wood screws for mounting board to wall No template for mount door hardware There were extra parts not explained in the instructions. Wormy wood mounting board with smooth wood door Terrible painting on Mounting Board and Door Staples from packaging damaged door From this video, the statement: "lay the rail on top and center it using the rail as a guide to mark and drill the 5/16 inch mounting holes" 5/16 for use of the 5/16 lag bolts provided is not an effective way to mount rail to board. Overall, poor product and presentation both from what was received and this video.
Great explanation, you mentioned key points. This is the best short video I have seen. Thank you!
Great video. Concise and detailed
My teen has a small bedroom 10x10 with a refular small closet with two sliding doors..Will it be worth it to swap them for blindfold doors to maximize closet space or not really? And can I install them on existing track or do blindfold doors come with its own track system? Thank u
Disliked because you said "heighth".
I am shooketh
@@connorbouthot3422 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What the heck? Nail it all up and if it's not plump remove the nails and adjust?? I think this advise is very poor!
Yea there’s a lot of ways to do it better
Hi. I measured my door from outer edge of trim to outer edge of trim. It measures 37” . I want to buy a barn door but i have choices of 36” Or 38” Or 42” Please i need your help. ?? What size should i order ?
a tip : you can watch series at Flixzone. Been using them for watching loads of movies recently.
@Adrian Andres Yea, I've been using flixzone} for months myself =)
@Adrian Andres Definitely, I have been watching on flixzone} for months myself :D
Nope
Wrong.
This sucked
Q
Horrible
Use screws instead so you don’t have to remove finish nails. “Just remove them” sounds so easy and they didn’t show how difficult it is to remove a nail with no head!
It's easy to remove the nails just use some pliers and pull and twist them out but I get your point plus you have to fill up so many holes with wood putty
@@hectoribarra361 have you ever removed finish nails with pliers before? You destroy the wood!
My thought exactly. I say “screw it!”
@@bencote2219 there is special pliers and they should be pulled out from the other side since the head is almost the same size as the nail.
Great video. Thank you.
I contacted customer service and the rep was not helpful at all.
I purchased a patio door set from Steves and Sons that was defective. They sent a rep out to the house to inspect it. He confirmed the defects and said someone would come out to fix it. No one ever came. This was almost two years ago. I have emailed the customer service without a response. I called the customer service and they places me on hold without ever coming back. The doors come with a ten-year warranty that is up to this point worthless. I will take the matter up with HomeDepot corporate as I am still waiting.
GL lmao

If you were in my area I would come by and take a look at it for free. Put in a request through Home Depot's Pro Referrals service and a local honest handyman who is insured and background checked by Home Depot, will come out and take a look at that for you for free. He will essentially own his business, be insured and licensed per local code all required by Home Depot and be an affiliate of Home Depot...I know cause that's what I am here in my local area. Just call the local Home Depot and put in the request for Pro Referrals. You might even be able to do it through the app. Good luck 😃.
@@personofinterest737 Thank you so much for the advice. I will go to Home Depot and do just that.
@@personofinterest737 haha I'm also the thing for my area, I hold their door contracts

how to get the best measurement to know what size doors to order?
Your guys should do a video installation for bifold solid doors, I bought some doors from this guys and the instruction was a no good
Massive gap at bottom??? Is that normal
Only if you need room for a shag rug.
Very noce
The track was too long and there is no hole for the knob??
Your products are shit, mine came with the wrong track size. I bought another one same size and the track was right. Returned it anyway. Id rather buy good products
I immediately realized it wasn’t a professional video due to ryobi
Stay happy with your high price cheap DeWalt
😆 😂 😝
The Office nah I’m a milwaukee guy. Ryobi is not jobsite quality. No quality tradesman owns a ryobi. But for nailers I use a butane + battery powered Pasload
@@lotussolo7695 - I have owned same Ryobi tools for 7+ years. I am a hobbyist woodworker (make furnitures almost every weekend) and I have finished two basements so far and my Ryobi tools never gave out on me.
