For a new bike choice, you should take a serious look at the Shercos! They're the closet thing to the YZ250X! Except with start button,hydraulic clutch, wide ratio tranny,electric fan, Brembo brakes, engine map swith(that really makes a difference) and importantly, the KYB suspension! I have both the YZ250X(19) and Sherco 300SE(23)! The Shercos are incredible! Good luck with whatever you choose! Enjoy the videos!
I went with the '24 250fx and I love it, Ill say Im fairly new to riding so thats why I went 4 stroke. Ive ridden older cr125s but I just love how little maintance the 4 strokes are and how easy it is to learn on, I mostly ride trails but I would love to get into harescrambles. Can you enter a 4 stroke with electric start into them just for the fun of it?
A Ktm 125 XC or 250 XC is a really good bike for those races. It’s like a YZ 125 or 250 x but has a button start and more bottom end for those more rocky hills.
Nice riding! Fwiw i really love my ktm 250xc. I know rhe 250x is a nice bike but the ktm woods bikes are much easier on your energy level with the smooth power delivery and counter-balanced motor, brembo brakes, and hydro clutch. Id bet you would be able to finish races a lot less fatigued on one. At my age (45) im zapped deep into some of the races we have in the northeast but love every minute of it. 🤘

Yes you can man i got electric start on my 19 an 20 crf 250r an crf450r. Ive raced both in harescrambles.
