Metallic is tough to match, I didn't have much luck my door is significantly too dark. I used the 2K clear coat and know how to paint with cans. oh well, back to the drawing board. The Harpys brand was the best but it was $45 including some crap 1k clear.

What you should of done was screw a bold in and hang it from that bolt. Or blot and nut at the manifold end. Pick a bolt hole that will be hidden by a header. Looks good mate 👍

wow - that's awful :( from what i've heard the aluminum is harder to dent/ding repair because it doesn't have 'memory' like steel. Best of luck, i knew these were more delicate than all steel cars but that's pretty scary! Also, i didn't know the trunk lid was aluminum! First i've heard that but yea, i guess just do the magnet test.

Those bubbles are trapped moister. Good practice to heat the metal up a little before cleaning it off for its first coat.

I’d prob do the rest of the car first and save the hood for last. Esp seeing the insurance did an estimate for replacing it. Yes a replacement is not ideal but fixing the rest of the car seems more priority as there’s no estimate for the rest
