Shouldn't the transition strip cover the edge of the tile? That way you don't have to caulk the floor and you will never see the uneven tiles. Caulking is NOT something you use in a high traffic area. Too many people think caulk is a fix all for poor craftsmanship. It's not, its just kicking the problems down the road until someone else has to worry about it.

Not if you want the transition to create another potential trip lip and you desire it to be even with the tile. I did the same with mine and used color matched caulk to fill the slight 1/16" gap (matching that of the tile bed). Years later it still looks perfect. It also allows the wood to seasonally move ever so slightly and not crack. Caulking, used properly, is the solution here.

My deck did the opposite. I built it 19 years ago. It has sank about 2". Is there a more permanent solution than adding or cutting down 4x4 posts every year? I used 8" tubes filled with concrete that are buried about 3'.

The problem is that it heaved in the winter and when the ground thawed and softened it sank lower. Only way to really fix it is to auger new post holes to 4'. You won't have the heave after that because the posts will be below the frost line

@@cmac178 To auger new holes, I'd have to pretty much re-build the whole deck. My wife would be all for it.. lol

@@Redneckboy991 you could probably take deck boards off and install new beams under the deck. Then once thats all in you can take out the old ones. Salvage some material
