Michael Swink - 2024 Berkeley Springs HS HOF Induction
The Berkeley Springs High School Class of 2024 Athletic Hall of Fame proudly welcomes Michael Swink, a distinguished three-sport standout whose contributions on the field and in the community have left an indelible mark on the school and beyond.
Swink's athletic prowess was evident early in his high school career. A four-year letterman in baseball, he showcased remarkable skill and dedication to the sport.
However, it was on the football field where Swink truly shined. In his senior year, he set a school record with 1,510 yards rushing, earning him widespread recognition.
His performance secured him a spot on the prestigious Martinsburg Illustrious Eleven and the title of All MAC Offensive Player of the Year. Further accolades included being named State Farm Insurance Outstanding Player in both football and basketball, as well as the coveted Apple Valley Player of the Year award.
Beyond his high school years, Swink continued to be a pillar of the Berkeley Springs community. His passion for sports never waned, and he became an active supporter of Berkeley Springs High School athletics. His involvement extended to the Scardee Foundation, where he worked tirelessly to raise awareness and funds for diabetes- a cause close to his heart.
Swink's commitment to youth sports was equally noteworthy. From 2020 to 2022, he organized youth bowling in Morgan County, providing young athletes with opportunities to engage in sports and develop their skills.

A small deer walked up the fenceline between our yard and the orchard behind our house and got stuck between the orchard fence and our backyard fence. Summersville Lake. I jumped off this ledge. Its a lot higher than ot looks! Everytime you go to jump, those legs wobble a bit and the anxiety kicks in, then, you say screw it and just go. Theres another spot to the right thats about 30-40 ft where kids jump and then one above it that you run and jump. Theres even a crazier one by the dam that if you dont clear the rock below, your most likely a quad or dead. This is one of the best lakes in the country to visit. The water is beautiful

Summerville lake!! Holy crap I’ve been there dozens of times. I know this exact spot there’s multiple jump spots at different heights. I always went to the far right behind the trees and jumped way out. So cool to see

How easy is it to get to this location?
I think it's fairly easy to get to. We were on a pontoon boat in the lake, but our guide mentioned that there is a trail to that spot. Here is a link to the trail map (wvstateparks.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/2023.08.14-Summersville-Lake-State-Park-Map.pdf) - I believe it's the Pirates Cove trail.

I live right next to Summersville Lake in West Virginia and they have made anything over 6 feet and your getting arrested. Stupid ass people jumping and die from the jump. Stay in your own state and keep out of West Virginia if you come here to be stupid.

We had one at our lake we jumped off of on a regular basis about every weekend we was on the rock we called one and the other was the cliff we had a bridge also we jumped from and a tower Bridge we bailed from when I was a teenager man them was the good ole.days

@@seewestvirginia it was around half hr after dark last night I went outside and looked up and saw all these airplanes coming from different directions then turned around looked up and there they were coming from the north heading south..they were greenish blue I couldn't tell you how many but a lot ..I was excited scared and happy at the same time..living up on a hill in the woods I see stuff in the sky all the time..but usual gold orbs that go across and blink out like a light bulb popping, but this was completely different..
