It would have been cool if the shadows were another alien race watching and protecting humans instead of a demonic force appearing out of no where for some strange reason.

Sooo....humanity was saved by religion? Dumb. Why wouldn't they have noticed that just praying helped defend vs. shadow beasts? This stoopid story is trying to frame it that everyone on earth lost their faith, except one l'il lady & then everyone was like, "oh yah, I forgot about my make-believe friend." And then they were saved. Hack story.

So poorly done I couldn't get past 8 minutes.

I despise these stories. I am a big fan of sci fi and read the classics of the golden age of sci fi when they were freshly printed. It's not the genre I dislike, it is the lack of proper storytelling that offends me, the reader. Civilization and conflict are complex undertakings in literature as well as in real life. The problem with most of the stories we are presented with these days is the lack of character diversity. Diverse in terms of "nobody is good at everything!" diversity. Thus, I'm tired of stories that have the same character (or small group of characters) doing everything in the story even though the tasks call for different knowledge and skills. A fleet admiral is not the best choice for ambassador. A ship's captain isn't the best choice for leading a commando raid. One scientist is not the best engineer, doctor and sniper in the entire fleet. And the actions of six people in the flagship bridge doesn't encompass the entirety of a galactic war. Thousands or millions of ships in action around fifty planets deserve more than a footnote on a message to Admiral Main Character (who is ALWAYS female) in a brief sentence. We need better. We need writers who are readers first.

These are excellent stories! I like the idea of changing your mind when you realise your original plan is liable to fail or non-beneficial to all concerned.

How about coming up with some original starship names. Also, everything lacking significant non-organic implants is bioorganic. The term that should have been used is biomechanical.

Excuse me but what kind of "leader" rolls over on his other brothers in arms?! It seems all of the "leaders" were weak in mind and commitment. If those were the kind of people in charge its no wonder the war was lost. The rank and file put up a good fight but were betrayed by their "leaders". What a waste of blood and treasure...

How many different names will you give the Commander? Is it Carran, Voran, Tarran, or some other name I missed in the writings.? If you can't even get your own story straight, how are we, the readers, supposed to follow the script?

I guess a little preamble would have been appropriate. Why would the entire known galaxy need a single old human warship? A previous war that left all of them weak? A pandemic that killed billions? A series of natural disasters caused by an inconveniently located supernova? Storytelling is important. Starting at chapter three is wrong.

Hey, kudos for calling them star systems. Everyone else is calling them solar systems. There is only one solar system. Around the human's star, Sol. Everything else is named for its star, or collectively as star systems.

Bio organic ... hmmm...... correct term should be bio mechanic ... a biomechanical object is what they describe, bio organic is like saying natural flesh or something similar..... and the luc planet is just like earth ... weird...

Correct word pronunciation would make these better.

The aliens don't have a species name?

I appears the humans are not very intelligent. Trying to decide if they should help them or afraid they will attack. They arrived asking for help, if they wanted to attack they would have and there was nothing they could do to stop them.

Eehhhh, a meteor does not burn in space, there is no air to heat it up and no oxygen or other oxidizing agent. No heat = no flames, no oxygen = no flames.
