A new channel started on March 30th 2021 to discuss all things drums. As a low - intermediate drummer I will be posting drum covers, talking and reviewing any gear I come across, drum lessons for beginners along with general drumming interactive discussion.
This channel is not about displaying perfection or tutoring but more about sharing my video diary of both my progress as a drummer and also the struggles and frustrations of daily practices. I will share ideas and things I'm currently working on and I hope this will be of interest to you.
Please join me and help my new channel grow by liking, subscribing and interacting with my videos as well as supporting many other drummers in the community 🥁👍😊

Session Drumming - Level 14/20 - Neo Fusion
Ok so for level14 the challenge was to apply textured drumming with a complex 4 bar groove.
I needed to complete a 5 stroke roll at 95bpm, 4 way independence with a displaced snare.
All fun and games. Thanks for following my progress drummers!

Session Drumming - Level 13/20 - Slow Rock with half time Shuffle
Переглядів 50Місяць тому
This was a good test of my Half time shuffle accuracy. A Bembe beat kick in at 2:00 which doesn't sound like much but actually tripped me up a few days with the 4 way independence. All in all I managed to get it down good enough that Mike was happy with it. Thanks for watching drummers
Session Drumming - Level 12/20 - World Pop
Переглядів 50Місяць тому
Definitely my biggest challenge so far hence the first 2 submissions were rejected. It wasn't so much this level being hard to play, but more the fact its a style of music and groove I've never played before, so it took time to get the right timing and feel for the grooves. Thanks for watching
Session Drumming - Level 11/20 - Soul/Funk

So the Drum Solo part of this was the problem for me. My first attempt was rejected but 2nd passed. The drum solo was specifically for the listeners and not for other drummers. The kick had to remain 4 on the floor and the Snare had to be on beats 2 and 4. This meant I could only use my hands in-between beats 2 and 4 which is harder than you may think! Paradiddle grooves and 6 stroke rolls all ...

Over the last 2 years I've had many drummers asking what cymbals I am using. So here they are! I figured I may as well do a video on them in my little room in the garage :) Thanks for watching and please let me know what you think. #zildjian #cymbals #zildjianspecialdry #zildjiankcustom #zildjiancymbals

Ok here we have 4 way independence, syncopated grooves, 5 stroke roll. Definitely stepping up a notch in difficulty.
Session Drumming - Level 9 - Pop/Punk

Ok this one is the other end of the scale. Much quicker BPM. Kick speed at fills is 180bpm. Keeping click accuracy and memorising all the parts was a step up for me. Passed it and onto level 10!! Thanks for the support drummers!!
Session Drumming - Level 8/20 - Pop Ballad

Click accuracy to a slow BPM is a bugger!!!! Nothing overly complicated here but only just passed. Keeping it tight especially with chorus fills was harder than I thought. Onto number 9 drummers. Hopefully see you there
Session Drumming level 7/20 - Pop Phrasing
Переглядів 3674 місяці тому
Ok so fairly comfortable on level 7 here. Just trying to keep the beat down and not doing anything silly that doesn't compliment the song! Onto level 8 and hopefully see you there!!

Nice one 👌! Congratulations brother 💪!!
Do you put these two cymbals together on the cymbal stand the same way you would put a hi hat together? In other words they aren’t laying on top of each other?
Hey Dave Yes the same. Then just tighten with a cymbal nut depending on how sloshy you want them. Thanks for watching friend 🙏😊👍🏻🥁

Hi mate. Single wall. It’s called a Kube Vocal Booth

My friend passed away there and my other friends survived..
Gosh I’m sorry to hear this. We watched it unfold on the news here in the UK. Very upsetting.

Sorry I missed this. My main snare sample is the Yamaha birch, and their birch drum sounds are a thing of beauty, as can be heard from this. What a gorgeous piece of kit. Thanks for sharing Mark! 👍🥁👍
Hey Dean thanks for checking it out mate. Pretty happy with this bad boy!
Nice fill!
Thanks for checking it out Joel 🙏👍🏻🥁
Really digging this snare! I normally like the deeper ones but this has a lot of body for a 5.5 I’m impressed!! Really loved that Latin beat with the cross sticking!! 🤘🤘
Hey Mike, thanks so much for checking it out mate 🙏🥁👍🏻
First I heard the crash is not for me, but, when you hit that 19”, magic happened, man..

Hey Mark what a Beauty of a drum. That Mid Tuning was right on the button for me. Sounds beautiful and the cross stick sound was perfection in that little groove you did. Thanks for sharing bud 👍🏻🔥
