I don't trust Chinese 'security' products... They offer consumers a false sense of security and makes it too easy for thieves with basic lock-picking tools, cheap copied picks also incidentally sold online by shady Chinese counterfeiters, means that brute force attacks with bolt cutters are simply not the easiest way to open Chinese padlocks. 🤔 Plus if you spray those alarm padlocks with expanding foam, or tape, they're rendered practically silent. Then one or two good hammer blows to the top of the lock body, breaks the casing wide open and frees the shackle. But don't take my word for it.... I believe it’s just another deterrent. The Hidden aspect is probably the best aspect. Still can get in but hopefully they aren’t smart enough to find it.

I installed a set in a 56 Ford f100 Push the pin in a bend the wiring tab to shorten the stroke. Center hole will go to at least 3/4 inc for wiring. Go slow to not make mistake. Amazon Cheap

I am at heart a DIYer, but when I had some confusion on a late Saturday afternoon with regard to wiring one of my Promaster doors, I called Thunderbolt and left a voicemail, not expecting any communication back until business hours on Monday at the soonest. These guys not only called me back within about five minutes, but hooked me up with Jim, who proceeded to have a very detailed call with me and texted me specific photos, resolving my issue within minutes. That type of customer service, as we all unfortunately know, has become rarer and rarer to find. Needless to say, I can not rave enough about Thunderbolt!

Can you grind the end (head) off the pin and then just pull the pin out?

My battery powered grinder would cut a slot for a screw driver in less then 10 seconds. I just got through removing twenty screws with that style head.

Couldn't you just use a grinder or hack saw to put a slit in it and take it out with a screw driver? 🤔

Are the extra fobs for these Thunderbolt locks hackable like with modern cars?

Not a fan, the design is such a small point of contact with the door. For the price it’s not worth it/have seen better systems that you can ship in from overseas.
