    Thanks a million! Now I know why my snugpack ( zipper, cough, cough ) was warmer then the Carinthie 4. Me thinks the hood is only to be used in combination with a Tropen bag for really, really low ( life threatening / emergency if you will ) temperatures. Which also could explain the large size of the hood of the 4. This bag could be a life saver, hence the design. I'll take your advice at heart and shall give it a try!

      Nice that you like the idea. I decided not to show too much instructional detail since I got some of my own inspiration from Jemtlander and their Pullpac product. The dimensions depend on the size you require for the bag/backpack you want to transport. Basically the width of the sheet needs to be the width of your bag plus twice the height, and the length needs to be about 1.5times the length of the bag or more if you wish to transport more stuff. Drill holes at the end of the shaping-cuts to stop the cuts from ripping further. Here a link to the Jemtlander page. In case you are unsure about building your own, I suggest to buy their Pullpac. www.jemtlander.se/pullpac-sled

    You gain good speed, until you see a crossroads at bottom of downhill, and you have to stop because you cannot see if there are people coming from right or left. "OOOF!" One point. Where my "second" home is (and where l've lived lately), lve playing idea for making long trips with bike (with trailer). But l fear big trucks with 100 km/h who bypass me of me, and there are no proper areas for bikers and walkers in countryside, only main road ("cycle- and footpath", yhdistetty pyöräilytie ja jalkakäytävä). When l visited this summer in Imatra countryside, there were areas where weren't either areas for slower traffic, BUT their roads have special thing compared to other places l've visited (or main road between Savo and Joensuu, which l can remember well). There are white lines in each side of asphalt. Usually distance between white line and end of asphalt is something like 0-10 cm. But in Imatra area it was rather like half meter or so! Why all roads don't have such things, if there aren't separate ways for cyclists and walkers? It would be safer and lure people more to bike (with trailers). And if l want to go in evenings or nights, thinking about fewer traffic, then trucks move probably even faster (over 100km/h) bypassing beside you!

    Deep thinking, good questions. Do we need these experiences what is luring us to be tourists? Isn't it enough to know and be experienced only locally where we are living our life? Well, it is also complicated questions. I travel sometimes and justify it by larger understanding, even truth is that my "larger understanding" does not help anything. Another "problem" is my couple life, where another half is from other side of this planet. Least what we try to do is limiting our traveling between our two home countries, but we know that it is still too much for our planet.

    • @huckmiddeke665
      @huckmiddeke665 5 місяців тому

      Moi, I have not tried with skis, and I wouldn't because they're not adjustable I length. Also using skis is maybe something you do with an hilleberg altai when you want to save weight, but with the hawu weight saving is out of the priority list anyways. What does work: • using a standing, living tree and building the tent around the trunk • hanging the tent from a rope/strap tied between two trees • suspending the tent from a bi- or tripod.

    I'm lucky. I don't move from my back when I sleep. The sleep doctor thought I was until they gave me a sleep test. They came in after 3 hours to see if I was OK because I had not moved at all, and my reservations were abnormally slow. For me, it was just the way I had trained myself to sleep. I just cover everything but my nose and mouth. But what you say is how I taught my kids to sleep.
