Caring For Your Newfoundland’s Tail

Known as a rudder in the water and a table sweeper on land, the Newfoundland's tail is a multifaceted feature that contributes to its strong swimming skills, communication, and balance.
To maintain my Newfoundland’s tail and keep mats and tangles from forming I like to section the tail and starting with the tip, comb or brush moving up towards the base.
Since this hair is usually coarser then the rest of the coat, I use a detangler like Cowboy Magic if needed.

For dog black nails where you cannot see the quick, always start by taking a very small amount of nail at a time, trim nails from the bottom of the paw and cut the nail from bottom to top. Just a tip from somebody who’s from Newfoundland , those dogs aren’t called newfies 😂 newfie is a term for PEOPLE in Newfoundland. That’s a Newfoundland dog. It’s just as wrong as calling them a Newfoundland.
Do you have a Newfoundland dog? Because my friends from Newfoundland that have Newfoundland dogs also refer to them as Newfies😅

My house smells like corn chips all summer beucase all my dogs each find a vent and lay with their paws over them. 5 dogs, five vents, five times the cornchips.

In all fairness, the snow is probably gonna make him overheat before it makes him cold. Snow insulates, combined with the double coat the boi is probably nice and cozy
