My last pregnancy and cesarean my son was stillborn so i remember exactly when my milk came in and it was not till the third day I was in the hospital. Obviously it didn’t matter because my boy wasn’t feeding but with my previous pregnancies and cesareans I feel like my babies sucking on me where there was no milk was the start of a bad breastfeeding journey. All three, I couldn’t breast feed without pain so I quit. I’m nervous for this pregnancy because I don’t want the same to happen.

My toddler only breastfeeds at sleep time and during the night do i put her in her own bed as well? Its not easy

You are making it like we are weaning 6 yr olds, most of these toddlers don’t understand such things! We are talking about from 0-2yr not older.

In general, do you think lactation consultants are afraid to tell mamas that they have flat nipples? I just gave birth to baby number 2 and no one EVER told me that my nipples are FLAT! I basically have to use a nipple shield every time and I'm so grateful that nipple shields exist! Thank you Jesus!

Baby prefers bottle now. Can a shield help me get her back on the breast?

My baby went from 40th percentile in weight and height at birth to 85th by 6 weeks. He will be 3 months old this week and has been staying on the 85th percentile growth curve. From birth I've only fed one breast at a time because he would drain it in under 10 minutes and fall asleep satisfied. I still dealt with excessive leaking and really full breasts after about 3 hours. I started pumping in the morning when my husband would give the baby a bottle and I'd get 4-6 oz per side in about 10 minutes. After about 8 weeks this routine of pumping to empty in the morning and one breast per feeding rest of the day helped a lot. I recently had to pump for a day because I was in my sister's wedding. I should've pumped one side per session but I didn't want to look uneven in my dress. That resulted in engorgement and a foremilk imbalance I'm trying to resolve now. Is it normal for one day to throw you off so much like that?

Baby will put bottle in her mouth and kind of latch on it but she won’t suck. Do I just keep doing the same thing and she will eventually start sucking? We try to introduce bottle about an hour after she’s already nursed so she’s not staving but May want a little snack.

Hello! You video is extremely usefull. Thanks a lot. I have very flat and extremely sensitive nipples and skin around nipples. My mum..she was telling me that she had mastitis..(i guess also she had problem with the skin and feedbresting). So..I want to prevent sores for which I am sure will stop breastfeeding. Is it ok..to start to use these silicon nipples right from the beginning in the hospital. I am afraid the nurses would look at me strangely..

I had flat nipples and i use nippal shield for one month after that my nipples come out and my son suck milk directly from nipples.it is very very useful for flat nipples.

the input on the flange sizes makes no sense to me. I've tried every size available for all 3 of my pumps and they ALL fit the same exact way you just mentioned... what do I do then?

He's refusing it. What do I do? He will take my breast but once he sees the little straw he refuses to take it.

I have inverted flat nipples and was recommended a nipple dheild when my son was born, I also had a pump and my milk didn't come in until my son was about 5 days old. I had some issues along the way and my baby wasn't getting enough milk from me so I gave up and started exclusively pumping with formula top up. He's now 3 months and I produce 3.5 oz every 3 hours, can I still latch him with a nipple sheild? I tried without and he hates it.
