What I thought was impactful about that scene was the juxtaposition between how drastically human and ape intelligence/civilization has developed respectfully. Noa and May are both able to look down that telescope and realize their position and scale in the universe and even time. I believe this is one of the reasons May is able to bury her resentment of apes towards the end.

My ultimate Limit as a creator of any Art is that I am afraid to add nothing worthwile and/or new. I look at the overwhelming number of pieces in every genre and how it is impossible for me to ever enjoy even a percentage of it during my Lifetime and I become hestitant to invest so much time, energy and money to add to this shere neverending pile because…. why exactly? I dont see alot of variety and experimentation, only META gameplay to protect stats and ego on modern muktiplayer experiences... Also alot of things messed up by matchmaking and bad servers/netcode Call of duty is the epitome of this, simply just a funnel to the in game store moreso than a game to get better at

I'm with you on the balancing issue, they need to buff the weak class, character, weapon etc instead of nerfing everything

I don't like multiplayer because I normally don't have much time I can sit down and play a game without needing to pause it every 10 minutes to handle something, and when I do have the time I don't want to spend it getting demolished online by everyone who does have the time.

I also feel there is a much stronger need for wins than having fun. Siege is a Prime example of this. People play safe cause winning is the only goal for most and with good reason. But the best games are the ones when its been about surviving or just do silly strats with no real expectation of winning, just cause chaos. But it seems like the only people who are able to enjoy that are those who are on top and can play around. Also the utter infestation of cheaters in games have really made games stale as you no longer can admire someones skill or execution without feeling suspicious. And so many players in siege choose operators for their guns more over their untility and addition to the game. So many matches where everyone picks a fragging attacker and no one choose support or breaching attacker. Perhaps the supporting and breaching roles needs to be more interesting so people feel that those characters are fun to play? I'm still having a blast with siege (only fps I play atm,) however the balancing and fun factor feels restricted.

I understand what your saying about nerfs and buffs and you are right but your not taking in to consideration its not fun getting killed by a character/weapons/abilities that are too strong which is also a factor

Rainbow six started failing when the devs tried to shape the community playstyle and make it "pro league like". While I disagree that R6 is repetitive, the devs sure made that worse by changing the ranked system, removing maps, game mods and adding map/ops bans all made the game feels repetitive and boring, add to that the constant balance changes that were either a hit or fail and the IMO the bad maps/ops reworks, I don't want to prolong the comment so I just want to say that R6 needed to stay R6, but it drafted from that path years ago.

Microtransactions, Skill Based Matchmaking, unfinished games all are the biggest issues with modern games, shooters especially. Games are not designed to be fun anymore, they are made as a way to milk your money, we don't get cool unlockables and rewards in game anymore, we have to buy our way there. We can't relax and chill with the boys trying new weapons or play styles, cause we are bombarded with sweat lords with SBMM. Games get stale after a week cause they are either missing features or parts are just broken as a result of releasing a game too early and unfinished, we as the consumers can never win anymore, I miss early 2010s online multiplayer gaming... We're in the dark ages of gaming, I don't think we'll get out of it unless we see another big legal issue like when loot boxes were being deemed as "gambling for children" so companies had to get rid of them, we need something as impactful as that again to see real change.

Regarding character balancing, players' investments in overpowered characters provide more substantial feedback than releasing an underpowered character whom surely little to no one will play with. It is often easier for developers to release an overpowered character and then gradually nerf its strength over time until it aligns with the other characters/weapons.

I havent gotten far into this video, but the finals is the most fresh and fun MP game I've played in YEARS. I'm 33. I've played thousands of games. Havent had this much fun since the first time I played Battlefield 3

Imma keep it honest with you cheif. I hate this veiw of game design. Ive played games like league and valorant and seige for years and the biggest problem isnt that my character isnt also good but that i never get to use my power/abilities at all and i never get a good idea of the game mechanics to the core because of all these stupid op characters that change EVERYTHING. Just make it all op has ruined many of my favorite games because lets say overwatch. I play rein because i like hammer boy. Well if everone is op and can instantly break my shield then quick kill my team then yeah thats fun for them but miserable for me. Or if i want to play a healer i either have to have massive healing and be EXTREMELY on top of who im healing or they die in a second. The solution your giving is what ow2 is trying and its shown to not work. It gives ONE set of players quick dopamine as they get a kill and ignores huge parts of the playerbase. Ive strait up quit ow2 cause of how all the numbers are stupidly high right now. You cant tank without dying in 2 seconds if your positioning isnt perfect and you cant heal unless you are in the person who neads healing in half a second cause if your not they die. Its a terrible game for me and many ithers due to people like you who have the mindset of oh bigger numbers is better when most of the time it just isnt. It ruins games for people who arent just focused on big number damage

coop games also tend to be less toxic/sweaty, which is a good bonus
