This channel is primarily a documentary of my quest for 1st place in a hare scramble (if you don't know what a hare scramble is, watch one of my videos). Along the way I will get distracted with bike restorations, product reviews, classic cars, and general tomfoolery. Please be sure to like my videos and subscribe to the channel if you want your wildest dreams to come true. See you on the course! Remember, if you want to make a small fortune in racing, you need to start with a big one.

MSXC - Cave City Shootout "Race to the crash!"
Looking good my friend looked like it was pretty bumpy
Yes, you are correct. Very technical and the boulders were no joke!
back on the 2 stroke,
It was the only bike in my stable that was race ready.
There are races all day like 8 to 9 10 to 12 & so on . So Try not to get there 30 min after a race is done. Most tracks are only one lane in and out so if you get there 30 min after a race is over there will be a lot of traffic trying to leave and it makes it hard to get in. So if your racing at say at 1 and there is a race starting at 10 I would get there at 10 1030 and should be able to get right in
True statement
My son raced a 2004 250x in 2015 and 2016 and was on the podium in 6 races and there were some people in his class that could not believe he was doing so well on that “old and heavy bike”, but it was what he could afford at the time. It taught him at a young age that it’s not the bike it’s the rider. Most people don’t realize how awesome these bikes are, still.
They really are great bikes. The R cam in this bike gives it a little more spiciness.
Sick, love my 150 XCW!!
New bike? As a rider I'm too fat, slow, and out of shape to ever ride a 150. I got tired just watching you, and I would have been toast after 1 lap. You, on the other hand have transitioned well. Once you got away from the moving obstacles (the other riders), you got into a good flow. Congrats on the podium ride!
Thanks! Not a new bike, I just prefer the grunt of the 4 stroke. The 150 is fun and super lightweight but a little twitchy.
Im wondering why Owens was allowed to ride 50C after racing in B class for 3 years.
I gave him a run for his money. I didn’t let him win easily.
That spot you fell early on was deceptively slick. I remember my rear coming around a couple times there
Yes it was. I was wondering why there was someone on the ground and then I was on the ground.
It seems, you have a little trouble keeping the front end from washing out and it appears twitchy other times. I have noticed this in another video you posted. I would suggest you drop your forks in the clamps about 5-7 mm from the top of fork tube(not cap) to top of upper clamp and see if that helps settle and plant your front tire. Some guys will go to 10mm. I believe I can see your forks topped out in the upper clamps on your video. This changes the rake and affects the handling dramatically. Another tip is to install a stabilizer, most work well and I use Scott’s as it is the most adjustable. Good video and nice riding
Thanks for the tip, I think I will try that. I don't feel the twitchiness while riding, but I definitely see it in the videos. I actually have a stabilizer that I sent off to Scott's for a rebuild. That will hopefully be back for the next race and I can see if the twichiness reduces. Appreciate your comments.
I notice different color arrows, not familiar with that - can someone explain?
The different colors represent different age groups. Green is for the little ones, blue is for the minis, and red is for the adults. If you are an adult and you've been riding for a couple of miles on the green and blue arrows only, you missed a turn :)
Thanks@@smallfortuneracing3613
Glad I was able to give you a challenge for a minute or two at 15:30 😊
I was eating your dust for a little while there for sure.
Great video, thanks.
Wr performance soap sucks
Darth Chad!
Update on this?
Still works well. The display hasn’t improved at all. I tried to add air to my 70 psi truck tires and it didn’t like that at all - thought I saw a little puff of smoke. Still works well for my motorcycle tires, bike tires, car tires, balls, and pool toys.
Absolutely brutal terrain. I imagine my forearms would have been as rock hard from arm pump as the ground you were riding on. Bet it felt like hitting a slab of concrete when going down. Wonder if a full gummy tire might have helped with traction. You managed the course like a hero. Great job!
Thanks for the compliments. I think the only thing that would’ve helped was studs but studs aren’t allowed in MSXC. The ice was not only hard as concrete but when you slip and fall you go down so fast there’s no time to react.
You were rolling out pretty good....good ride
Thanks!
Ok, 250F or 250X? Sure sounds like my crf250x, which I love to race also, by the way. Great race! Nice work in slick conditions.
Thanks. It’s the 250X. I started racing with an F a couple years ago but traded for this X. Been a great woods weapon.
Good job
@@lyndonewright330 thank you! Miss seeing you out there.
I've got a 17 CRF250X also.....love the bike! Mine is totally uncorked with a full Yosh system ,Radius CX clutch, trail tech....and other goodies. Almost too nice to beat up in the woods😂
@@jameswampler3135 NICE! I just picked up a 2005 and am going through it now.
You can see trying to dig my bike out of a rut at 30:21. That is when you passed me.
I saw it in your video. I didn't even notice it was you stuck there. Probably because of the guy that followed you into the run and pinned your tire down with his footpeg.
Very useful video, thank you.
Good job
Looks like that all happened really fast
Blink of an eye
Nice! Can you beat Yoshimura on a Japanese bike? I think not
These bikes are so underrated it’s unbelievable, my son won his class 4 years ago on a 2004 and there were some people that could not believe that he was even competitive on it. Wait for the next upload, thanks.
It’s been a great race bike. I think I prefer it over my KTM.
I wish we would have kept it around but it was tired and needed a complete rebuild top to bottom and front to back after he was done with it. I love my 150 XCW but there are a few races I would like to have a 4T.
More throaty, you will be pleased with its performance.
Oh no Joe!!! 😂
Great riding, looks like that was a fun course.
Great race, thanks for the upload! Moving up to 50+ next season, can’t let all the youngsters have all the fun!!
14:42
Yep. That’s where it all went to 💩
You should try the magna 1 product. The one we had you sprayed on a dry bike waited 15 min and rinsed. Made the mud and dirt fall off. That with the wr would probably make for a super.clean bike!
Nice, I'll have to try that.
Dish soap
Dish soap works fine for me, I just gotta let it soak overnight and the wife will clean it the next day.
hole shot! G-outs like to stall the 4 stroke?
Apparently so!
😂
wish i was out there with you!
Wish you were too buddy. Miss banging bars with you.
man you KILLED that start!!!
awesome
He said glass of juice not gas the jews
Water pump
well
What made it start moving?
Old water pump in savannah Tn. At Tennessee street park.
Old smelting forge? 🤔🤷♀️
My Balls
nightmare ;)
No four strokes in that batch of riders lol
No. But there were a handful of 4 strokers out there.
Uphill Swamp,, fun section.
Pleased with the no toil products, as far as cleaning. Have just swapped to the bottle oil from the spray on. Seems like the spray oil may have allowed some bypass grit on at least the butter fly flap in the port.
But does it smell like bubblegum? :)
@@smallfortuneracing3613 sure doesn't. But now I know what you have been rubbing on your back tire for all that hill climb traction! Lol You doing hanginator race this weekend?
This is serious endurance racing an hour of this stuff!!
Summer races are usually an hour and a half. Winter races are 2. It took a while to cool off after this race.
