thanks for this video well informative, apreciate the effort ... i always heard from kpop fans that NCT is intimidating because of their big numbers and experimental / "noise" music (even tho their b-sides are gold even for those who don't like experimental music) and that the unit system is confusing (even tho it is simple as in 4 groups under the same umbrella / name) I am glad they sucsseded despite all this prejudice after years of struggle and criticism... NCT Wish (aka the neo babies aka the Japanese unit) made their debut not long ago, at first nctzen were a bit at the defence, since the plans for the Japanese unit changed suddenly, but things changed the mmt they debut cuz the members are so talented as such a young age plus them being cute and adorable like a fresh breeze and they even earned their 1st music show win... i find WayV underrated and needs more reconision within the fandom and on the general Kpop fans they are supper talented and have great music / sound, these are fact not just bcuz they are my favourite unit ... there is no denying that the talent in dripping in the NCity... fan fact: NCT is the only kpop group that debuted in different eras (NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream in 2016 making them 3rd gen / Way V (NCT Vision) in 2019 making them 4th gen/ NCT Wish in 2024 making them 5th gen) NCTzns are the only fandom that gets exited for seeing the interaction of the members of NCT despite being in the same group lol (this is normal when u have 26 members who are busy in different schedules) and we are dying to see interactions between the Wishies and their hyungs and witnessing them getting close lol anyways I wrote for ages gotta stop now... PS : 3:18 the last one's picture is not Hendry that is JaeHyun (it can be confusing ) I can add Yang Yang for the rap line too his flow is incredible... even tho other like jeno jaemin and other are great rappers... lol

Red velvet fanbase is mostly female in my reveluv experience? In Korea and Internationally. Red velvet is fully south korean. But their charisma, humbleness and well rounded habilities gathered stable ocident and japanese fanbase without much promotion and world tours when compared to Blackpink and Twice budget in international promotion (even after the mistake of Happiness mv). My favorite part of being reveluv is that Red Velvet always grow and surprises the fanbase and general public, getting better in other areas too

Personally, I think Itzy’s rise to fame was a lot more simple than this. The most notable girl group debuts prior to Itzy were probably Dreamcatcher (2017), Fromis_9 (2018), and (G)I-DLE (2018). DC had a slow rise to fame, Stone Music wasn’t known for their own artists, and Cube was under fire for kicking out HyunA and Dawn (along with other decisions not received well by the public). I’m not including Iz*one because 1. They were a temporary group and 2. MNET was in trouble for their rigging scandal. So, that group’s future was more up in the air (especially with X1 being disbanded). So, people were waiting for a new girl group. Being from a Big 3 company, Itzy benefitted from the legacy form by their seniors (mainly Wonder Girls, Miss A, and Twice on the gg side while 2PM, GOT7, and Stray Kids also bolstered the company’s reputation). Their debut being as popular as it was from the get-go is a testament to how big their company is. Also, the timing was perfect. 2018 saw a plethora of massive hits from KPop including (but not limited to): Fake Love, Idol, Waste It On Me, Ddu-Du Ddu-Du, Kiss & Make Up, What Is Love?, Love Shot, Tempo, Bad Boy, Bboom Bboom, Love Scenario, Starry Night, etc. 2019 was the perfect time for groups to debut (as seen by the immediate success of groups like TXT, Everglow, Oneus, etc.). Also, their debut had a hint of familiarity. Some people compared to anthemic sonics to Twice’s “Like Ooh Ahh” and the love yourself concept was already popularized by BTS. Itzy’s explosion onto the scene was the perfect storm of the industry expanding into the west and JYPE having the perfect creative direction for the group. Unfortunately, that direction was short lived. As we saw with their SME counterpart (Aespa), failure by a company to manage their group’s creative direction leads to stagnation. And when we’ve been bombarded with 4th and 5th gen debuts (StayC, Purple Kiss, IVE, Billlie, Le Sserafim, NewJeans, XG, Kiss Of Life, and now Baby Monster), it’s made it harder for Itzy to stay as relevant with their unpredictable choice in sonic and visual direction. It’s never too late for them to make a resurgence. As we saw with plenty of groups (AOA, Oh My Girl, Mamamoo, WJSN, Dreamcatcher, (G)I-DLE, etc.), it’s always possible to have sudden gains in popularity. With how well Itzy’s recent comeback is being received (on top of many fans loving their Japanese comebacks over their Korean ones), it’s obvious that Itzy isn’t out of tricks yet. JYPE just needs to get their act together and stop wasting the talent of these girls. So yeah, in short, Itzy didn’t really do anything revolutionary to rocket themselves onto the scene. It’d be remiss of me not to point out how incredible their stage presence has always been (and how great their creative direction was foe Dalla Dalla, Icy, and Wannabe). They set the bar and expectations for the generation. But the same company whose reputation they benefitted from at debut is now mismanaging them. This is why JYPE stans shouldn’t be so thrilled that the company has a million girl groups when they’re mismanaging all of them. Here’s to hoping that Itzy’s current comeback performs well and that Lia gets better soon so that we can have another OT5 comeback in the near future! ❤️
