Oh hey, Cindy! Who the hell invited you to this discussion?! Are you making "fat beats" while you're playing with your doll collection? go troll somewhere else, you psychopath.
Sure, but I highly doubt Shadow works that fast. Not to mention he's making songs with parts (verses, hooks, bridges, etc) and not a 16 bar, looped beat.
I wish he would just use a fully upgraded MPC 3000, it's a good step up from the 60 without it being too "unlimiting" so to speak. It would offer a nice balance for his music now which is all made on the computer. Even a full 2000XL would be fine, but really after those MPCs were still good but too much IMO.
jefferson airplane - crown of creation... "maybe i should get this" - hell yeah you should! that record has some sick psychedelic funk on it. tons of useful samplable parts. owned it for years....
He should never have stopped using the MPC. Since he started using DAWS a few years ago his music has suffered. Its totally obvious to me what's happened. He took years and years of a method of working and threw it in the bin. His limitations with the MPC are what made his music so good. Now that he has no limitations you can hear the apprehension and lack of direction in his newer stuff. A real shame because this guy has a lot talent but has allowed technology to ruin his karma,
DJ Premier still uses it to this day, people criticize him for that. That MPC-60 made me a fan of Premier and inspired me to make music. It's good to expand your horizons but you shouldn't have change for nobody. I know this is a DJ Shadow video but I just had to put it out there.
@theanalogsound I assume when you say "he's pictured with a shit-ton of records", that you're NOT referring to the album cover, cause if you knew anything about Endtroducing, you'd know that he ISN'T on the cover. Clearly you haven't done your homework. Quit being a douche.
Hey, just wanted to let everyone know I've left Open Labs and started a new company called Music Computing. Check out the new gear at Music Computing or click the link below for videos. - Thanks, Victor Wong
@CeSektion well, if you don't study up on dj's, I'm not sure why you'd complain about a video interview with DJ Shadow, clearly he's A DJ!...and his wording in the interview is right, you just misunderstood.
@CeSektion He's not talking about using the MPC60 as a midi controller. He's talking about the midi controllers that Akai makes that are the sixteen MPC pads that trigger sounds from a computer (model #'s MPD18, MPD24, MPD26, etc.). If you know anything about how Entroducing... was made, you know that he only used the MPC60 he's pictured with and a sh*t ton of records. Clearly you haven't done your homework on DJ Shadow
am i the only one that started to dislike this guy as the interview went on? he uses the mpc as a midi controller? then he sez they he just got it back a week ago?it sounds (and looks) like his friend got more use out of it then him!haha
@conradhartgmx he s making a video for everyone to see worldwide ..................and I dont think the record shop owner will care much having Chemist touching his recordsss!!!!!!!! and he s just showing few tips to buy and checking out conditions......just the routine.....u know??.......... no need to complain so hard dude..... (jejeje)

I'd rather make a sick beat in 3 days, than an average one in 3 hours.
DAW's = faster workflow
Yeah, when I heard it I was like, um, didn't Shadow use that?
Why on earth would you start making beats on a DAW, if you had made Endtroducing on an MPC-60. The mind boggles!
The break at 3:12 is used by DJ Shadow in "Napalm Brain/Scatter Brain"
That's a 60 II
